We may not be where we want to be right now, but if we can't hype ourselves up for a game against Chelsea then what's really the point of being a fan?

Regardless of our form coming into this, we always have to give our best particularly against the best teams in the league. Talk of resting players and what not is unacceptable. Did we become some relegation candidates overnight having to rest players to make sure we don't go down?

Stop disguising negativity as pragmatism and get behind the team and support today. Whatever happens will happen, but as a fan you can't throw in the towel before the game even starts.

Listening to that Mourinho interview I'm surprised we're not just making wholesale changes and resting for Thursday.

You don't have to be a football expert to see were well out of reach of top four. Even in our title winning seasons it would be a big ask to expect to win against Arsenal, Spurs, City away and Chelsea at home.

All our eggs are in the Europa basket, we should be expecting us to rest players rather than play them.

Mensah, Tuanzebe, Shaw, Willock, Blind, Darmian, Lingard, Martial

All these lads have been rotated or had a lack of playing time, get them on the pitch and rest the key players.

Ibra, Pogba, Rojo, Bailly, Mkhitaryn, Carrick and Herrera.
What an absolutely pathetic attitude. Jose mentioned how effed off people would be if he fielded a weakened side. If I saw anything like the above I'd be completely livid.

Yet, on the other hand, were running the key players into the ground.

There is a serious chance we could blow the Europa by chasing a position were unable to drag ourselves back into.
The precedent on giving up the league could be far more damaging than fatigue or injuries, it could create a sense of complacency when going into the EL.

Fully agree mate. If there's one thing that will most certainly lose me faith in ANY manager it's deliberately fielding a weakened team against a rival. Absolutely unacceptable. FFS we aren't Osasuna rocking up against Barca at the Nou Camp. We are Manchester United hosting Chelsea at HOME. There's no way we don't go for a win here.

What a bunch of moaners. Get hyped and hard for this match. The following sums up my prematch thoughts against Chelsea.
Next Friday, right? Anyway, great stuff buddy, I fully agree. Some have already given up on the match before it has even started.

To be fair though, Chelsea's been one of the most, if not the most difficult opponent for United in the last ten seasons or so, even when we were mighty during Sir Alex's reign. But it's gotta turn around sooner or later right. I hope and believe that'll be today.

Supposedly via Twitter so not confirmed that Courtois is out and never travelled, not that it means were going to definitely Win as our strikers cant hit a cow's arse with a banjo at the moment but never the less it's a positive

    Thanks.
It probably wouldn't matter as we can't seem to not hit the keeper at home.

I'm pumped up for this game.
CFC totally outplayed us in the first game this season. 4-0.
In the 2nd game, we went toe-to-toe, then M.Oliver did his usual "send off a MUFC player" and we played most of the game with 10 men.
But in this game, CFC won't have M.Oliver to help them :p
And without their 12th man, I think CFC will go down today.

We will lose 5-1. Bailly will be sent off.

    God told me.
If M.Oliver was the ref, this would be possible, but unlucky for CFC, he is not officiating this match.

    Agreed.
And I am really pumped up for this game. We need to beat the league leaders at all costs.

The mentality of wanting to field a weakened side against Chelsea of all people....and at home to potentially get hammered is bizarre and quite frankly disgraceful. I would rather Spurs get the title than the Chavs. Taking points off them would unsettle them and keep us in the hunt, even if the chance is a very small one.

I really hope we stuff them today. Saying that though, I'm putting my house on a 1-1 with Ibrahimovic and Hazard to score.

So much negativity . So many fashion-choice pessimism posters getting their little bit of attention for having a pre-emptive big old moan about losing and trying to appear as a realist but just looking completely mental.

Strange phenomenon. I think we've got a really good chance to take a life-line for top four. It isn't over by a long shot.

Some might be playing for their futures today. Biggest game of the season as I think lose this and we are will be knocked out on Thursday. Pogba needs to show up today.
I think as we close in on the Summer, Jose will be making plans to buy in replacements.
I actually think that he has already decided that he can't win the title with Rashford or Martial in the first team and we will be buying at least 2 attackers this Summer.
The LB position is the one which I think Jose is undecided on. Shaw is now saying/doing all the right things so could make the LB position his own, next season. But if he can't prove himself in the remaining games, I am sure Jose will bring in a new LB (first team starter) for next season.

Jose tends to use the first season to assess the squad and then wins the league title the following season, so the remaining games will be very important for some of the misfiring players.

What you've done here is cobble together a few words in the hope of making a cohesive sentence.

    No Courtois, no party.
It doesn't matter who is in goal, whoever CFC (or any team) field at OT, they'll put in a MOTM performance.
We just have to make sure that we are clinical in front of goal, irrespective of the GK.

Courtois absence won't make much difference unless Hazard and Kante decided to stay with him at hospital till he recover and forget about the match. I'll do this if I'm them.

Kind of the same if we were missing DDG, will not make a big difference to the game, as Chelsea's defense is solid enough anyway.

our conversion rate problem could be exposed by a proper team like chelsea today. 10+ missed shots isn't punished by the lesser teams, hence our draws. Give chelsea two good chances (which we have given to lesser teams on multiple weeks) and we could easily be 2-0 down.

If the team finally find the shooting boots and we are clinical, we will have a good chance.

Our last loss in the PL was Chelsea in Oct. If any game should see a positive reaction from minute one, it should be this game.

We need to get them on the back foot early and finish clinically.
