I've found four little thrillers on Netflix that are great

Green Room - a punk band play a gig at a Nazi show and rebel and piss people off. Featuring Patrick Stewart, Maebe from Arrested development and the Star Trek guy who died.

The Visit - M Night Shamallawhayana directs a good movie about teenagers staying with their weird grandparents. If this come out after Signs it would be very highly rated.

The Gift - Jason Bateman rekindles a friendship with a weird kid from high school. A very strong directorial debut in my favourite thriller of the last five years.

Grabbers - Aliens invade Ireland . The aliens are allergic to alcohol.
Thought all of the first three you mentioned were thoroughly entertaining. So number four is immediately making my "to watch" list.

Same! Loved The Gift especially. Another I'd recommend is The Invitation - starring someone I'm convinced is Tom Hardy but actually isn't.

The Changeling, the 1980 horror film. I'd never heard of it until I watched it last year and thought it was great, very creepy and atmospheric.

Surveillance - 2008

Couple of FBI agents try to solve a series of murders in a desolate area. Great film with an indie/low budget vibe.

Yeah I guess badly is the wrong word, I remember watching only knowing that it directed by Shane Meadows and ended up loving the film(Although it's a bit of odd thing to say for a film like this). Just surprised that it hasn't got a similar amount praise as his other work - This Is England Movie and TV Show.

The bit where he calls the guy a cnut in the cafe has also stuck with me.

Re-watched The Accountant on HBO the other day. Quite liked it, prolly more so than when I first saw it in the theater. Bit silly in parts but still enjoyable.

Screamers is very underrated for me.

Id also say Tremors does what it does perfectly... and perhaps Fifth Element could be held in higher esteem.
Agreed with all you said, also "Darkman" is heavily underrated and unknown to most.

Sam Raimi works his magic on a superhero movie, so much better than all the soulless tripe you get these days.

Terminator Salvation never gets the credit it deserves I feel just because its not Terminator 1 or 2. I love that film.

Ive been on a crusade to get people at work to watch Watchmen for ages no with no joy. Brilliant film.
I didn't enjoy either.

Bad casting, I would have picked anyone other than crap batman. I would love to see a darker and deeper version with Day Lewis as the accountant.

Top marks for Arlington Road. A superb thriller.

Off the top of my head (and I'm at work, so not getting details from IMDB)...

Red Rock West
Repo Man
Lone Star
Swingers
John Wick
The Hunt for Red October
Paris Texas
Moon

Certainly in the company I tend to keep these are underrated.

Picnic at Hanging Rock (1975). it's rarely even mentioned these days, but for me it's a real gem of its genre.

Isn't this movie severely underrated?

Character development is amazing, two wayward sons of an alcoholic old man battling for redemption, it's almost biblical. Ace soundtrack, great acting by Tom Hardy, amazing final scenes.

It's pretty widely praised and it has an 8.2 rating on IMDB. Why do you think it's underrated?

Came here to see people posting well liked movies, was not disappointed.

Just like that guilty celebrity crush thread in which people started posting supermodels.
