DoF or DoF-lite? Makes you wonder what Jose thinks about this. He's not one that has gotten along well with one.

Whatever the case, seems like a good signing. If we can recruit for the future instead of just current needs, we'll be better off.

No official confirmation so far.

True that :p here's our second signing of this summer.

Ribalta from Juventus, he'll play as the scouting manager.
Ed Woodward: "hey Ribalta, welcome to Manchester United"

Ribalta: "Thank you, Mr Woodward"

Ed Woodward: "Please call me Ed"

Ribalta: "Thank you, Ed, I am very grateful for the opportu...."

Ed Woodward: "Yeah, yeah you have 1 week to get Ronaldo, Morata, Dybala, Fabinho, Mendy & Dybala signed up and in a red fecking shirt before July"

Ribalta: "Mama Mia!"

Hopefully he starts straight away and will he be able to have a positive affect on our dealings this summer.

I expect him to do so. Unless he has some sort of a gardening leave clause in his contract with Juve. I'm pretty sure that doesn't happen in football though.

Lets hope he gets hold of Jose's list and writes 'Fabinho' at the top, in big feck off black marker. And scribbles a cheeky 'lol' next to Dier's name.

First time we have a scouting manager is it? Can only be an improvement, I suppose. Good stuff.

Ribalta's interview with Woodward

Woodward skimming through his CV

Woodward: So you know the Italian league well. Good. I know that league very well!

Ribalta:
Good

Woodward: Have you ever heard of Zidane then?

Ribalta:
Yes of course. He was a great player

Woodward: good good, I was interested in him you know. Unfortunately I got a text from Howard Nurse who just informed me that he just moved to Real....anyway, Ronaldo have you ever heard of him?

Ribalta: Which Ronaldo? The Brazilian one or the Portuguese one?

Woodward:
Good good, that's a tricky question. I never expected you to answer that. What about Messi? Is he good? Does he justify that FMs 20 rating in dribbling?

Ribalta:
Erm I don't play football manager but yes he's good

Suddenly Woodward moves creeply close at him

Woodward:
Tell me is Morata truly good? I spent 30m on some big guy with funny hair one and everyone laughed at me because of it.

Ribalta: Morata is an excellent player!

Woodward: Do you like me Ribalta? Will you be honest with me? Cause....I don't know football very much and

Ribalta: Don't worry Mr Woodward. I will always make you look good.

Woodward: You're hired.

I hope he takes a look at the potential deals for Perisic and tells the club to walk away.
Unlikely to tell us to walk away from signing a player who would be one of the best wingers in the league.

I know we've always had a head scout but am guessing this might slightly different? Hopefully a first step towards creating a DoF role at the club.
Yep. Hopefully a transition towards a DoF. Wouldn't make sense going there right away.

Yes, yes, foreign is best. It won't be long before Doris the tea lady is replaced by juanita the espresso senorita. That will be a great day. British is shite.

Finally putting in place some structure rather than relying on relations of the manager or Jorge Mendes. This could be the best signing of the summer judging by Juve's success to expenditure ratio of recent years. Excluding last summer, our transfer business has been generally poor for around 10 years now - there is the occasional success like De Gea and Valencia but largely it's a tale of waste.

What I'll say is this. I've never seen @Acquire Me and Javier Ribalta in the same room together. Have you?
