Bloody hell he's left the club and the usual suspects are still on here berating his Everton performances and still being obsessed with him. This sort of hate really is a bit unnatural.
Same goes when it comes to those defending him. Like regarding most things in CAF today, you cant have opinion on middle, you can say something positive and negative about him in same sentence. You are either hater or crazy defender.

You have United fans going through Everton forums to try find negative posts about our legend. I find that sort of obsession bizarre. I'm one of Rooney's usual defenders but I've not bothered posting once in this thread so far but this obsession with how he's doing and trying to constantly criticize him even now is just strange to me.

what do you think of those Everton's fans early opinions on him, do they have agendas?

Their fans their views. Why is there such a crazy obsession among our fans to hate/defend his Everton performances even after he's gone? It really is a crazy obsession the Caf has with Wayne. 22 pages before the season has even started on Rooney at Everton.

On one hand, he's our legend. On the other, our fans taking an interest in what he's doing now that he's left is an OBSESSION.

And you won't have to look very hard to find Everton fans posting negative stuff about him. He's done.

If Rooney scores the winner against City and/or Chelsea in a few weeks time everyone will be jizzing over Rooney, figuratively speaking.

Nobody will be jizzing over him. We'll be laughing at City and/or Chelsea, nothing more.

Maybe he is but he's not "our problem" anymore so why the continuous need to still hate on him and yet again find videos and find comments on some other teams forums just to slam him? You'd think him leaving would have finally reduced the Rooney mania on the Caf.

Even if some were, you'd be on here in moments to tell us all he's shit and it was a fluke

Meh, 'finding' videos of him being shite, and critical comments of his shiteness isn't exactly difficult.

He's our record goalscorer, etc, so expecting our fans to simply ignore him now seems a little naive. Especially, when you consider that a lot of us have been beating the 'he's done' drum for years and his performances with Everton are bearing that out.

In candid honesty, it's probably not about him anymore. It's about being proven right. We've been banging our heads against a wall for two or three seasons saying he's finished and having people tell us he's a "legend" and we're wrong.

We've been pissed off at his attitude towards the club, the "nothing to prove" comments, his lack of professionalism and how quick he has been to blame others for his failings.

So excuse us if there's an element of "told you so" and a seasoning of shadenfraude in our posts. It's interesting that the ones telling us not to gloat are the ones who had been blindly supporting him for the last few years.

It's why I'm happy to put it out there that I expect him to subtly slag the club off this season and criticise us in ways that absolve him of blame. It's why I'm confident enough in his egotism to say that he's going to be shit for Everton and then accuse the management of not using him correctly or getting the tactics wrong. He's mates in the media will be in full PR mode.

I'm happy to say that because I know with absolute certainty that he will prove me right because that's the real Wayne Rooney, not the guy his PR team has the media paint him to be.

I don't know about that, if Sandro starts rattling them in and they recruit Sigurdsson, they have a pretty nifty squad. I expect them to achieve something similar to last year which is as good as can be expected of their club to be perfectly honest.
They don't have a nifty squad at all. They've just bought a lot of players. Their midfield lacks creativity and they're selling their best two players who are replaced by Rooney (lol) and probably Sigurdsson.

Ronaldo left us years ago yet you slag him at every possible opportunity. Usually defending Rooney too in the same instance.

You don't practise what you preach.

I thought once he gone, those who kept on insulting him due to his 'performances' or for 'the good of the team' would just try to forget Rooney's existence. Owh how wrong I am, just shows what the real motive is.

Those defending him really deserve credit. There aren't too many harder tasks.

I know I am late to the party but I am absolutely chuffed for him to get his dream move back to Everton. I am glad that Jose and the club were happy to honor his decision and let him take his career direction back to his roots and I wish him luck at Everton and I hope he achieves his goal for the WC next summer and has a good season.

He absolutely deserves it for the service he's given us. What a player he has been over the decade, well deserving of the record.
Kudos Wayne!

I slag off Ronaldo when I have to defend Rooney because I find it wrong how Ronaldo still gets love here despite how much worse his behavior was compared to Rooney and quite often from the same people. I'll always stick to that opinion, his behavior was far worse than Rooney's and yet he's loved on here like he did nothing wrong.
And you'd be running in here to protect him. You're just as bad as the anti-Rooney brigade.
Nah, I've not even bothered defending him over the last many pages on here because he's gone now and not an issue of our club so why defend/attack him for something he's doing at another club? That sort of obsession is just madness.

People were expecting him to slag off United and "leak" his stories in the media the entire time he was benched. I think a lot of people on here were actually a bit disappointed he was so well behaved and didnt' use his "media friends" to talk crap because it took away another chance for them to hate something about Wayne.

 So you're going to put Rooney up against two of the greatest players of all time. One a child prodigy and the other an athletic freak of nature.

Give it a rest. Compare him to your average premier league player in terms of miles on his body.
I was comparing their abilities, im comparing how Ronaldo/Messi look after themselves vs Rooney.

Child prodigy - Rooney cost us nearly 30m pounds as an 18 year old in 2004. I repeat 2004. If thats not a prodigy I don't know what is.

Athletic freak of nature - Ronaldo became this freak of nature, it wasn't natural. He worked and probably still works very hard on his physique. Maybe if Rooney looked after himself too, he wouldn't look so bad in his early 30's.

In terms of premiership i will give you Frank Lampard. Played in the Prem most of his career. There was a time period where he only missed 5 league games in 6 seasons so you can imagine his mileage was off the charts.

Nonchalantly scoring the winner...

Or perhaps literally... (I'm looking at you, @wr8_utd ;))

Seriously though, hope he has a good spell at Everton, I'd actually love to see him bag them a domestic cup - as long as he stays classy to United.

Yeah, some on here will hate, and some will fan-boy, but that's the divisive nature of social media (redcafe is social media, lest we forget) and certain personality types will basically just always find a way to 'vent' on such platforms.

I wish Rooney well, he's had a great United career, so yeah, good luck to him.

Hold on for a second here. Rooney will get nothing but scorn if he spills the beans now. Specially when his shite performance are on display. We are due a chapter or two in his next book. That way he earns more money too.

Do you not see the hypocrisy though?

You are doing the same to Ronaldo that you hate others doing to Rooney.

And its been mentioned before, but they are people who are impressed with neither players behaviour. So it's pointless slagging Cristiano

yet here you are.

Its a Wayne Rooney at Everton thread. Suprisingly, he is currently very poor. if he was playing any better the thread would have a different tone. Do the math

I come in peace. I was here, frankly, just to read your Rooney thread to gauge your reactions to him. ST holder at United. I am sorry to say our opinion of him is not poor because he is a scouser. If he was a red scouser i'd understand. Sadly he has gone from an exciting, explosive and brilliant player into a shadow of his former self. Lets have it right, you watch the news, the lad has not looked after himself, like Ricky Hatton he balloons, then loses weight, smokes a few cigs, gets knocked out in his kitchen etc. I have no doubt he is over the moon to go back home and its admiriable but sadly we've given you the empty wrapper after we ate the lot and spat the bones back in the paper.
The reply:

Go back to your red forums you manc glory hunter. Rooney, YOUR all time top goalscorer (that must hurt!) and England's top goalscorer is now in the shirt he loves - not in a shirt where he could hold the club to ransom every few years. Yes, he isn't the player he was, but he'll put in better performances than what we currently have in there (new signings aside). It is only pre-season so I'll reserve judgement until the real games start coming.
A bit much, that reaction.

I don't know where people get idea that United fans are seething at seeing Rooney play for Everton.

I'm glad he's playing at his boyhood club. Not everyone is lucky enough to be able to do a Neville and play for your favourite club while still challenging for top honours.

The Rooney of 13 years ago was always going to be too big for Everton, which was a shame for him personally.

That forum is a bit deluded when it comes to us.Funny because we hardly give a rats ass about them as a club. We only ever care when they play us or Liverpool and they usually disappoint in the latter.

I've wanted Rooney sold since 2013 and quite frankly didn't care much for where he went. The last few years actually made me angry watching him in a United shirt.

The people saying that his United performances are due to a lack of motivation are simply fooling themselves. How else then do you explain his equally poor England perfomances?

Started well last season with a goal and 3 assists in the first 3 games. Would love to see him do well at Everton, but the real test is in the next few months.
