Personally I would like to see this very much. I would pray for Jose to start this way.

However, I think there is only 10% chance Jose would start this way.

If everyone hits top form, the front four + Pogba is not very far behind MSN/BBC.

Creativity from Pogba and Mkhi. Full of pace up front. Martial, and to a lesser extent Rashford & Mkhi, can all dribble. A pure #9 Lukaku. What more can you ask for. (except CR/Messi/Neymar/etc lol...)

That said, if we need more goal threat say like in 70min++, I am definitely not surprise Jose would play this way.
 Christ! People are still in Lala land?

I'm going to go for a 1-1 draw (unfortunately, we have not strengthened - but are merely treading water. Lukaku replaces Ibra. Matic replaces Carrick. Lindelof has started off really badly).
Basically, we are playing with last season's team and I do remember how bad our attack is.

I hope I am proved wrong.
    You will tomorrow.

Start Rashford, Lukaku and Martial as a front three. It has the potential to be the best in England If it clicks.

I hope so man, but logically, I can't see it.
Even watching the pre-season games, I could see that we were playing exactly as we did last season, i.e. our attackers were either missing the goal or shooting straight at the keeper, Pogba hitting the woodwork and Lukaku/Ibra scoring the goal). The counter-attacking goal against Sampdoria was the only highlight, for me.

I saw us play against Madrid in the SuperCup and I hate to break it to you, but we were several levels below them. Our attack/finishing is woeful and I base this on the amount of goals we scored last season. And just in case you forgot, we finished 6th in the EPL.

Based on the above, I am not sure how you concluded that our front 4 + Pogba are any good.

    Lukaku
    Martial ...................... Mata
    Pogba ...... Herrera
    Matić
    Darmian Lindelöf Bailly Valencia
    De Gea

Subs: Romero, Smalling, Jones, Blind, Fellaini, Lingard, Rashford
So Mikhi not making even the bench?

I am getting a bit despaired of comments like that.

So Liverpool got a draw and Chelsea lost...

The road is paved for us to get a 1-1 draw tomorrow then.

Chicharito is nailed on to score, lets just make sure we put 4 past them before he does.

Would like to see Jose trust Mhiki from game 1. If we are to get anywhere this year it will be on the back of his good form... that said a spell in the stands did him good last year.

Really think we are lacking options and if landing perisic gives us that variety i hope it happens before next weekend.

    Dont ya know it.

West ham bought well but hopefully we are a bit ahead of them so its not too taxing. We need an early goal to settle the nerves and hopefully see em off early with one or two more. We do not want this to be 0-0 looking solid with 20 to go and Little Pea coming offf the bench. Because he will be up for it and we'll be in comfort mode having not being too troubled.

We dont want to be looking as shakey as the chavs, the circus and the muppet show did this weekend.

No more 3-5-2. I think 4-3-3 would be our standard formation and 3-5-2 for the top teams. Until Shaw gets fit I think both midfield and defence is set in stone in this formation. Darmian can defend but offers little in attack, we need Shaw back as soon as possible. Along with a win I also want a clean sheet.

I've seen this said a dozen times, as though the only way to improve a squad is to add players. You don't think after a year with Mourinho, learning from the mistakes of last season, we might not have improved a little both individually and as a group?

The only way to improve a squad seems to be add 2 new players to every one lost...or just to add players full stop. Stupid. The biggest improvement we could make to our our attack over 99% of possible signings would be to get Martial's confidence back.

In the end, go for it. This is a match we should be winning comfortably. No worries about a draw or lack of goals.

Who also thinks that we will score one goal and play the Mourinho way after that until the last 10 minutes when Chicharito will pop up and equalize?

I really hope Mourinho can help us have a great Goal difference. Supremely tired of the 1-0s and the 1-1s.

Sorry for all the bold text. There's a glitch in my phone.

Any sort of 3 points will do. No squeaky bum time please if possible. No repeat of last season where it was a struggle to put teams to the sword. Need Rashford, Mhikhi and Martial to come to the party.

What sort of preseason has West Ham Had,, anyone know?

This will be a much tougher game than people think. We'll start Lingard, and Fellaini will play a big role. We'll not look vastly different from last season other than being a bit more stable in midfield.

Our issues in attack will remain the same as last season with Lingard being unproductive and Martial, Rashford or Mkhitaryan (depending who plays) being out of position.

I'm expecting a draw or scrappy win and anything more positive would surprise me a lot.

Honestly i think we will surprise a few on here this season, we will smash these today.
Our midfield and attack is too strong for them and they have Joe "blunder" Hart in goal.

Presumably you missed the super cup where Lindelof was pretty good

    Shaken, and very stirred......
No excuses, a good win today. We need to make a statement of intent and certain players need to step up after having had a good bedding in time. Mourinho has three of his four players which should be ample enough to push us onto a higher level.

People forget just how much of a fine line some games were last season.

Had Zlatan scored those umpteen chances (Lukaku will) we would have fared much better.

Had Pogba not hit the post a million times (He will score them this year) likewise.

I see a lot of people backing Martial to start over Rashford. Why?

Think Bailly/Jones have looked good together. Would prefer Mitchell over Darmian but that won't happen. Would like to see Pogba in a more advanced role in this game. Herrera/Matic in central midfield would be enough. Any of Rashford/Mkhi/Martial on the wings.
