I think this thread is a little premature. i don't think the title race should be discussed before at least a couple of months.

The title race has started. Therefore the thread is relevant. Nobody said it was over.

2 matches played.

2 fecking matches.
It is but it's a general thread about the title race. Since it's only two games in, technically every team is in it. Interesting to see which teams pull away from the rest.

Every point counts in a tough league like this. Points in august are just as valuable as in april.
Just ask Arsenal. That first match defeat against Liverpool last season turned out to be the decider for 4th.

Nothing wrong with the timing of the thread. Could've even been made before the season to discuss potential title winners.

As it is the race has started but will only begin to become concrete after about 10-12 games.

All of last seasons top 7, apart from United, have dropped point in the first two games.

We've looked the best team so far.

We have a very easy schedule before our clash with Liverpool. We need to go into that game with maximum points.

All of last seasons top 7, apart from United, have dropped point in the first two game.
We did have a relatively easier start than our rivals, but it was imperative we took advantage of it. Look at Chelsea's win streak last season: the believe it instils in the team and fear in your rivals cannot be underestimated.

All you can do is take it game at a time. It's been a great start for us, but it's too early to say anything.

Just got to hope we beat Leicester next weekend and some of the others drop more points. Liverpool v Arsenal next weekend, a draw would be a good result for us.

We have a relatively smooth fixture list ahead with a few of the expected contenders playing each other meanwhile. It's important that we make the most of it now to get momentum before we meet the big teams and the extra competitions kick in.

It's great the top 5 dropped from last season points already although we'll drop points eventually and it will even itself out. Last season we seemed to drop points whenever the others did so hopefully we can fix that.

We have a kind, if there's such a thing in the Premier League, run of fixtures before we head to Anfield in mid-October. With our rivals facing each other in almost every game week up to that point, we really should be targeting a first place position by the time we play Liverpool.

Is there anywhere you can get odds for Utd winning the league and being in 1st place from week1 to week 38?
Quite fancy that at the moment!

I don't understand why some here are agitated over this thread, it's just saying title race and as of now all 20 teams are in it.

However , I will start to take this seriously if come december we are at top convincingly. I seriously hope jose doesn't resort to us playing safe from jam-feb itself. Let us dominate teams till March and then last 6 odd games we can play safe and seal it. But again it's premature to think that far.

It has been a fantastic start for us. 6 points and 8 goals scored. Sure it is only 2 games, but they couldn't have started much better. All rivals have dropped points as well. City dropped points home to Everton which is something people would not expect. Liverpool away to Watford, Chelsea to Burnley at home and Arsenal to Stoke away. Only Tottenham has dropped it in a big game against a rival. Long way to go, but we should enjoy the start. Mourinho is usually at his best being ahead of teams rather than coming from behind. Things are looking really good at the moment and hopefully we can keep it up and beat Leicester in the next game.

Early days. The title race becomes only clear by the Christmas.

Taking advantage of a relatively easy start to the league can be both a great boost for morale and a great downer for the other clubs. Although for me looking down with a 5 or 6 point lead never seems to me anywhere near unsurpassable, looking up at one is a different matter. Last season we just never got onto a winning streak long enough and when we had a decent one it didn't seperate us from the others - just keep us up there with them until it ended.

What we should add is I am not really impressed with any top 6 sides apart from us yet. City play the Pep style and they look like they will have the same tactical problem as last season. He might solve those issues, but we know Pep can be stubborn so I can see them struggle a lot of times. Arsenal look like typical Wenger Arsenal. Would not expect anything else. Chelsea I think will come good and I feel maybe they should be considered favorites again, but they dropped 3 points at home to Burnley. They impressed against Spurs and once they get Hazard back in form and Morata on fire they will be a strong force this season as well. Spurs will be strong as well, but I am not sure they have improved on the team they had last season. Liverpool have not impressed me at all so far although if Coutinho gets back they can still be great. If not then I don't see them as a threat to the title like Arsenal.
