First goal is always so important, they are playing so compact it leaves us no option but to play it wide. Unfortunately our crossing has been dire, it's reminiscent of Spurs v Chelsea last Sunday. They forced Spurs wide and were happy to head the ball out for 90 mins. We need some luck go our away to get that opening goal.

Get Anthony to pull wider and look to get more of the ball to Miki centrally; instead of looking to cross, just stretch the game and open up space through the middle. We need to mix it up a bit more and obviously improve on the quality of our ball in

It lasted two games and we're back to last season. Was it Zlatan's comeback or what's the problem lads??? Mourinho; when will you learn what playing at Old Trafford really means?! This is our home ground. This is where we show everyone what an amazing team we are. This is not a place to keep some unbeaten run going - we need to win at any cost. I really hope you've got something to say to each and every player out there and get us a comfortable 4-0 win today or piss off.

Crossing has been poor in general though. One reason is that we don't get enough bodies in the box. Quality from Valencia has been shit and Blind has not done much better.
Crossing is always easier to deal with then slick through balls and short passing.
Who can forget that Moyes game v Fulham

We need to win, because drawing in the same way as last season will be disastrous for the current team's confidence.

If you ignore the 4-5 years of 1,000s of comments about he smashes it into shins, or stops like a statue, and never gets any assists despite his incredible energy...then yes, you're right, it goes completely unnoticed
Half the comments in the transfer forum this summer whenever we've been linked to another option is "we have Valencia why do we need another RB?".

This. Hit and hope crossing will get you nowhere. Been proven time and time again.

What we can see so far this season though is that our defense is great. We have the best defense in the league no doubt in my opinion. Our central defensive options are great. Lack quality going forward from the fullbacks though.

First half showed up all of our weaknesses. Full backs offer very little, and Mkhi is not playing well enough. It's a shame Bale won't come and play left back for us - he'd be perfect in that position!

The central defence is totally on it right now though, Matic is great, and Lukaku is dangerous whenever he gets near the ball. I think Pogba is left with too much to do with Mkhi and Mata in the team though - I see the logic, but I just think those two players aren't up to it.

That said we're totally dominant - we just need the breakthrough, same as the last couple of games. Fingers crossed it comes early second half.

2 lay offs to Pogba, slipped ball to Mata and 2 or 3 crosses. He's probably been our best player.
Also at one point they put four on him to stop him and he went in to the middle of that and got a pass off.
Like I said, nothing really threatening, only some standard simple passses. Haven't seen him going past players and creating shots for himself like we know he can do. The ball was mostly on the right.

Blind is disappointing. We expect nothing from Valencia in terms of quality delivering and Blin has been abysmal. Even his CKs were terrible.
Yup, Blind takes too long to cross at times when he should be getting the ball into the box quickly. Floats the ball or smashes too often too.

I want us to let Micki take the corners on that side, he was good at it in Dortmund

The cult of Valencia is strong. Unfortunately, they're misguided.

He's so solid at every other aspect of the game. Crossing is his weakness, but should that be a defender's top attribute?

Clearly difficult to break down a packed box. Same sort of stuff as at Swansea, obviously by far the superior team but with not quite enough movement and fluid passing to pull Leicester out of their trenches. Crossing has been mostly of a poor quality. I imagine a goal or two is still likely in the second half.

Today? He's been like that for awhile now, so fecking predictable, defensivly he's allright, attackin, meh. He just runs and runs and runs, final product is so dissapointing. We all know what he will do.
Serge Aurier at £25 million-ish just makes far too much sense for me. Hence why we'll be watching Valencia playing as if he's facing holograms all season and attempting to kick balls through them.

United needs another serial goal scorer, Martial and Rashford are not up to it, Zlatan cannot play alongside Lukaku both being 9s, Lukaku gets too much attention for him to deal with. Its far fetched but United should just dish out the money and bring in Griezmann, he and Lukaku could have 60 goals between them, a sure shot title winning combo.

We should build something from the hole , pass it direct and quicker in the hole.

He used to be able to cross when he was a winger, why not as a fullback?
I think it's because he played further forward as a winger and it was easier for him to get to the touchline closer to the goal, where he would shoot in the crosses. Now he has to cross from deeper and it's a completely different technique which he doesn't handle very well.
