He is playing bad and doesn't seem to really fight his way into the matches. The fans pay a lot and the player earns a fortune. It may be bad style but it's not like they tried to kill him.

Di Stefano, Raul, Casillas and Ronaldo were all booed by the Bernabeu. It's part of it.

The truth is Bale hasn't been good enough and he's on a lot of money, Madrid will be happy to sell next year especially with Asensio playing brilliantly.

It's just a part of playing for Real sadly, the fans are about as loyal to their players as the board are with their managers. It's all white handkerchiefs and whistling if you have an off day there. Bale will know this by now, you either accept it and try to improve, or you let it get to you and you leave. It's not going to be the first time it will have happened to Bale, so i'm sure he's fine with handling it and moving on.

They booed Ronaldo.

While I think booing players being right or wrong is for a separate thread, Bale sticks out sorely in this Real side IMO. He just doesn't seem to be on the same wave-length as his teammates.

I recall an instance in the 2nd half when Bale was in a open pocket of space and called for Kroos to play a defense cutting ball to him and Kroos refused and simply switched play to the other wing. Almost as if they don't trust him in congested areas to give him the ball.

When Ronaldo returns it will be interesting as him and Zidane both love them some Benzema, and Isco and Asensio are the golden boys of the Bernabeu.

They don't settle for mediocrity. Not like in England when they clap you for winning a throw in. They expect you to be world class every week. That's the breaks with them. If you don't like it then either perform or don't go there in the first place.

I don't disagree or agree though. They are the owners of the club after all, they are not only "fans".

I hope people would stop doing that as it really doesn't help to put our own players during that type of pressure when we're chasing to win a game. That being said he's a professional and seems to have a good attitude but he needs to get involved a lot more like Asensio is trying to do.

Zidane is also at blame for not subbing him out earlier and maybe with the boos Lucas Vázquez would be given more time while Bale regains form. Right now I wouldn't sell him as we already got rid of James and Morata and we do need for him to step up.

I hate to admit it, but there's a reason to why Real Madrid has won 12 Champions League trophies.

Zero tolerance for underperformers. It's a ruthless approach.

Don't they boo Ronaldo from time to time as well? Arguably the best player in their history.

Petulant and spoilt is how I'd describe Real fans. Like little girls of mega rich Daddy's used to getting their own way all of the time. They'll boo Zidane at some point, probably did while he was playing.

Sometimes a bit of stick is helpful. We clapped all the way during moyes era do you think it helps any of the team to perform better?

If any it creates a captain with nothing to prove.

If Zidane takes the hint and stops exposing a player that is under performing, when there are better alternatives on the team, it will be helpful. I would also expect someone like Bale to use it as something that drives him into performing better next time.

I just don't like when the boos come when the game is ongoing but I guess if they were going to boo him that was the perfect time to do it.

He's an astonishing athlete when fully tuned and was consistently capable of some extraordinary things for Spurs for a couple of years and then sporadically for Madrid. But in god given talent terms, Bale probably falls short of what most spoilt educated Madridistas expect for 80 million.

Watched the extended highlights. They can boo him all they like.

They already have a better player than him. Asensio. Kid is out of this world. He is like a young Bale. Exceptional.

We arent above booing our own players.
If the argument is that Bale is very good and we boo rubbish players, then it probably shows that they have higher standards.

Does he know he's getting booed or just being thick enough not to hear it? Mental that he still wants to stay there and not appreciated and doesn't want to return back to the UK

Hes thinking about the cash depositing into his account when he walks off the pitch. Don't think it bothers him at all.

That club has ridiculous standards.

They are double champions of Europe yet they are never content.
Why should they be content with anything other than exceptional? How do you think they became double CL winners?

Why do people think just because Bale got booed he'd hand in a transfer request? Ronaldo (one of the best players and with ego as big as the sun) gets booed and hissed every other weekend and nobody expects him to leave.
