Sour grapes IMO.Why do they care?
It didn't matter too much all along until it started to affect poor Barca and Real....waaaa we can't compete with the sugar daddy oil clubs who are now taking our players and stealing our transfer targets so please do something UEFA.Why do they care?
They've already went hell bent trying to get UEFA after PSG. It's just City are on the same boat so it makes it look less personal calling a second club out on their state back power too.Don't know why they've randomly picked City and not PSG... but yeah sounds like they're just having a strop about not having it their own way any more!
Your dead right, now that Real and Barca are on board they might actually do something although I think it will still come to nothing but for now its a win win, either City and PSG will end up in trouble and can't blow everyone else out of the water for transfers OR nothing happens but it further unsettles La Liga and the spanish giants in particular meaning they are brought down a peg or two globally and they lose out on more players in the future, further reducing their standing and leading also to some of their current players heads being turned to move elsewhere in the process.Thought this would happen to be honest.
The Spanish clubs, and their league, are all about financial fair play now that the oil clubs are hurting them. RM and Barca can no longer cherry-pick the best players and they're having to pay their own players huge amounts to keep them (Messi wouldn't be earning £400k a week if the Qatari and UAE royal families weren't around).
Now that the Spanish giants are on board, there's more chance of something being done IMO. RM and Barca are Champions League royalty and Uefa will want to keep them on-side.
Long term, however, I still reckon we'll end up with a breakaway Super League of the 'traditional' clubs.
Ah that makes sense... they're still just having a hissy fitThey've already went hell bent trying to get UEFA after PSG. It's just City are on the same boat so it makes it look less personal calling a second club out on their state back power too.
inevitable i think... I also expect some of the games to take place in the middle east (Qatar will have a lot of stadiums sitting there for example) - wouldnt be surprised to see games in USA and Far east as well - the money will be just too good to turn down.Long term, however, I still reckon we'll end up with a breakaway Super League of the 'traditional' clubs.
didnt barca (or la liga) already submit a similar complaint against PSG?Don't know why they've randomly picked City and not PSG... but yeah sounds like they're just having a strop about not having it their own way any more!
Exactly, imagine if Bill Gates decided to take an interest in football and bought a club. And just pumped all his money into football because he wanted a way to spend all his money. It isn't fair that super rich people who think of it as more of a hobby, just spend hundreds of millions when true clubs have to earn to spend. It might be sour grapes from La Liga but something does need to be done. Saudi Princes with trillions of oil dollars can't be allowed to run riot.
Yeah the timing of this is strangely coinciding with City's rumoured interest in Barcelona's best player. Still, they are within their rights to file a complain and get governing bodies to intervene or at least hold an investigation.City will come for Messi and this happens.
I do think it should be done, No club can compete vs a country. It has to happen and financial doping clubs need to be brought under check.
Yeah but both have recently been handed transfer band for their transfer activities which stepped out of the line and usually when they bought big, they had to repay with their earned money.Being a United fan, I don't give a crap about city but why the feck are these spanish club so agitated. All they have been doing for years is buying players through corrupt money. Real.madrid's a** were saved in early 2000 by the government, barca have been doing some shady deals for many years. I am happy other clubs have now started to stand tall and refuse to let them have the players they want.
The lask of self-awareness from Tebas is astonishing mate. A Real Madrid fan complaining about state aid is laughably ironic, and even more so when RM have received money from none other than Abu Dhabi to redevelop their stadiumMore specifically than the Primera, it is Javier Tebas who has called for it - an unabashed RM supporter
Yes they received those ban, even Chelsea received and it was more to do with poaching young talents illegally.Yeah but both have recently been handed transfer band for their transfer activities which stepped out of the line and usually when they bought big, they had to repay with their earned money.
Only a 100?I'd relegate City and give them a 100 point fine
I know, I'm too softOnly a 100?
Yeah I also find it a bit amusing that Real and Barcelona feel like they can lecture other clubs how to conduct your business in the transfer market ethically but they might still be correct in this particular case.Yes they received those ban, even Chelsea received and it was more to do with poaching young talents illegally.
My point is barca and real have been acting like babies because they couldn't get their toys. Perez refusing to sell us morata because they didn't get de gea was unprofessional. Morata is a gentleman who didn't make fuss of it , any other player could have just torn apart real and perez with that kind of behaviour. Barca is same, all these years rhey have been tapping players but now suddenly when one of their players is tapped they feel threatened.
Like I said I am no city or psg lover , and ffp should be made stronger but I can't blindly back these spanish clubs when all these years they have done some shady deals and just because now they could dominate the transfer market they are crying. Feck them I say.
