Did we lose anyone to injury over the break?

Can't see anything interesting being said in this presser, there's really not much to talk about right now unless I've missed something.

Incoming "what did you make of Rooney's drunk driving" question, obviously...

If they do I don't think Jose will be able to hold his tongue. Wayne's made a couple of subtle digs at him and United recently and I'd expect Jose to retort with equally subtle digs. "Not my problem anymore"... that sort of thing.

What digs has Wayne had at him?

That would be brilliant thing to say, few words, but more than enough said about Rooney and his post United life. Indicating he was his problem, but now got rid, and can breathe now, and not have to think about, and deal with him.

But don't think they will ask him about it. Other things to ask, International games, injuries (hope no one has any), possible tiredness, CL around the corner,Jose, what do you think about Stoke, can we do it on a cold..yada.., maybe his goal keeping adventure. Rashford for England,..
there are so many questions they could ask, why waste question on Rooney, ffs.

The same could be said about any press conference since 2004. It still didn't stop them from asking, much to the fans annoyance considering more pressing topics were ignored.

The Rooney question will either be from that twat from Sky Sports or Neil "Fat Man" Cnutis

Liverpool are streaming Klopp's press conference right now; why don't we do that?

He seemed to favour LVG over Jose in one quote.
I know which one you mean, but I wouldn't call that a dig at Jose personally. In that one thread the article linked seemed to leave out this bit:

"Jose came in and last season in the league we struggled and weren't consistent enough," Rooney added. "Obviously in the cups United did well. I could see where Jose was going with the team and they will be a big success."

Would prefer him to say something like 'now you have an understanding why we allowed this fat ugly, useless scouse toss pot to leave'

Can see some questions about new transfer window rules, our lack of activity on the last day.

A promise: every player by the end of September has started a match.

Dig up stupid!
i read the AP comments as Mou feeling he is at a stage where he really needs to fight for a place rather than go somewhere he is guaranteed minutes.
he feels AP would benefit more from the battle of trying to win a starting spot at a top club rather than just taking easy minutes at a lesser club.

i can see both sides to be fair, AP having played a lot last season won't want to sit on the bench, Mou wants to push him to improve relative to his squad mates if he's going to establish himself here

Even if we had got the fourth signing, there'd still be a weakness at left back. Can't go playing 352 all the time.
Maybe he was already after, not Perišić, but a leftback who could play wingback. Anyway, if that's the case, shouldn't we had gone for it earlier?

Tend to agree. Jose also probably wanted a bit of depth to use in the domestic cups, and now will be forced to stretch some players instead of resting. Jose definitely needs to rotate a bit better than he has previously. Easy enough to run down a team over a season, hence a bit of dip after winning a title (a la Chelsea). I think he's realizing that he needs to put that in his locker if he wants to really stay long term at MU.

I definitely see AP's need to play, as his career needs to progress, whether at MU or somewhere else. Glad there's a Jan recall clause, but I wonder if MU will go for another option during that window. It seems Jose rates him enough to not buy another CM type, so it could be telling if we are rumored to be in for someone in that slot. I'd understand if it was a rumor about Kroos or similar prominence, but I hope AP is slotted for the young/developing midfielder slot. Just hope AP is not playing wide for Valencia, as I don't think it would benefit him in terms of his MU position.

His comments on Pereira are harsh sort of and he seemed disgusted to talk about Pereira's decision. He clearly doesn't like when players chicken out when the fight is tough.

He won't have much of a future at United.

It's the same mistake that Januzaj did forcing that loan move to Dortmund.
Januzaj didn't get into the Dortmund team, and didn't impress the Dortmund management. He came back with nothing to make United think he'd learned enough to become part of the main first team rotation.

There's a good chance that Pereira will become a starter for Valencia. I can see why Mourinho would be disappointed, given he'd encouraged him to stay, but I doubt he'll just ignore him if he does have a good season on loan.
