6 goals in 8 games for Germany. It's a better stat than Klose and just behind Gerd Muller e Klaus Fischer.

Yeah, he looks really, really good. Won't stay at Leipzig long.

His record at Stuttgart was quite average, although he was prolific for Germany at U19 level and below.

He's become such a reliable finisher since moving to RB Leipzig.

He has been great this last year but that's a ridiculous sample when comparing him to those 3:lol:

I think he played mostly on the wing for Stuttgart.

I didn't follow Werner's progress in Stuttgart that much, but I do know that he was a winger for them more so than a striker. However, he also got several appearances up front though not as consistently as he gets for RB Leipzig.

It was a joke, knowing how Bayern always buy the Bundesliga best players :D

He is going to the P.L., imo.
I do not think it is such a big joke when you know that strikers never really got old at Bayern. (not age but duration meant) They were always replaced by the next shiny toy.

Top striker, he is improving brilliantly year by year. He has it all, pace, technique and cool finisher.

Not really his fault that VfB were an absolute mess when he played there.. He always had talent.. VfB had the brightest talents around but like always managed to mess it up.. Werner and Kimmich are Germany's biggest talents and as fate would have it aren't playing for VfB..

Oh yeah, Stuttgart were absolutely crap at that time and didn't manage their young talents well enough. Both had to leave in order to continue with their rise.

I have been following how Timo Werner is doing, and he really looks the part.....

Germany have a good one in this guy, and I will be watching him in World Cup next year....

I think Liverpool enquired about him, but were told "Not for Sale".......

Germany finally have a good striker coming through. Last one must have been Klose?
I'd say Gomez was a good striker, too. Over his entire career he scored once every 120 Minutes in Bundesliga and once every 100 minutes in the CL. His link up play never was nearly as good as his poaching skills though, which cost him his place at Bayern and in the NT.

Yeah I remembered Gomez after I left the website, but I couldn't be bothered to go back and edit post at the time.
I appreciated Gomez.

They also had Khedira, Rüdiger, Gomez, Rudy, and they sold Leno to Leverkusen. Stuttgart would be a nice addition to the 'feeder club XI' thread.

Just like I said they normally have the brightest talents but never manage to create a surroundings for them to flourish in.. They are the definition of a feeder club..

I wasnt entirely convinced by him til last season, he is an absolute superstar in the making. Barring injuries, he is the perfect striker. His composure and in German you would say 'Zug zum Tor' is absolutely phenomenal.

He might become Germany's first striker in club football in two decades that is regarded in the true top tier of strikers. Klose and Gomez hardly ever were amongst the top 5 of their position if you count international and club football. They had great careers but they were very reliant on their specific strengths. It's a long way for Werner, but does he have any weaknesses? If you give him space, his pace and absolute desire to score are deadly. He's not a bad header of the ball and his link up play and technique are good as well. His movement seems top notch also and he's got a strong shot in him. What a player! I'm very excited to continue watching him.

The best thing is, he's basically already a certain starter for Germany for years to come as he has almost no challengers and has done brilliantly under Löw. I hope he shows his ability in the CL midweek.

Was reading an article on goal, it says he is a Man Utd fan. Could he turn out to be a great striking option for us? Lukaku cant play all games, we will rotate him and Rashford but surely we would need a more all round striker to provide competition

I really like the look of this guy.. like a German Aguero. We could do with a striker like him.. more modern in style than anything we have

We definitely need to be doing more in geting him and some of his German colleagues to United. This summer is basically a fire sale there, with players like Goretzka, Brandt and Tah going for peanuts. They are the next generation of the National team. Bayern will be licking their fingers come the summer, and Werner might not be cheap, but he is already a very good striker
