Maybe. Time will tell. I guess they can overcome the incident.
I'd be surprised if a stupid incident like this has any consequences at all. It was a bit childish and it showed to everyone that they're all narcissists at their core. Better put that aside for the "project" though. Qataris won't tolerate their toys not getting along on the pitch at least.

I'd be pissed if I were Cavani.

Alves has no right taking the ball off him.

Cavani's the penatly taker, and should continue that way unless he gives it to someone else, or the manager chooses someone.
Alves was giving the ball to Neymar for a free kick, not the penalty.

Neymar should be taking free kicks ahead of Cavani all day tbh. Penalties are a different story - Cavani is the designated taker and Neymar doesn't exactly have a stellar record from the spot.

Neymar is an idiot, always has been. There was no way around Messi though at Barca so we will see more of that now

The Brazilian clique in action for you. Emery cannot do anything. If he pisses off Papa Neymar, he's out.

This is exactly the reason why I think that for all their talents, PSG will not win the CL. Other teams with a more cohesive dressing room will take them out.

Neymar 'unfollows Cavani on Instagram' following penalty disagreement
Is this true?

The state of modern footballers if it is. Can you imagine Roy Keane's reaction if one of the lads in the 90s/early 2000s did this at United?

Seriously? His response was to unfollow him on instagram?

greedy lampard, should have helped out his team mate if the game and title were won
Title or game wasn't won. It was early on to go 2-0 up. They won the title by 1 point on that day with that win.

Hope Neymar never wins the ballon d'Or, he is a despicable player. Apparently Cavani also talked to him and he got angry and it nearly resulted in a fight says l'Equipe, Thiago Silva stopped it.

He has a huge ego, the new 220 million boy, spoiled brat. Add his antics against Celtic last week, who does he think he is?

Fairly predictable and as someone else already pointed out, good luck against the Brasilian posse

I don't think Cavani will last at PSG past next Summer. Neymar is running that club for the next 5-6 years at least.

Yeah he has no chance of winning this battle no matter how well he performs for the team. Neymar is PSG now, forget Emery, Thiago Silva or whoever, he runs the show. Arguably the wrong type of character to have in that position too.

Emery is an idiot too, though. He apparently said that they have to work it out between them. No, moron, you should have a designated penalty and free kick takers and not let your players fight over it like kids.

Cavani is too shit to be picking fights with the crown prince of Paris. He'll get loaned out to West Ham United for his troubles.

Those reports about them on the brink of fighting each other in the dressing room don't fill me with confidence.

Same here. The hierarchy in the team should be clear.

To be fair Cavani can be a bit shit but Neymar's such a cocky little prick. Zero respect for his own teammates.

And there goes the collapse of the Cavani-Neymar-Mpabbe trilogy....

I actually think giving Neymar this much power and control over a team will seriously harm PSG for the future. He's a spoiled brat and it wouldn't surprise me If someone in the PSG side gives him a smack before this season is over. Can't see the squad morale being great over there in time

They will just replace Cavani with Dybala.

Maybe. But Messi has a similar role at Barca and they have been very successful.

Dressing room harmony must be just great at PSG

But seeing the squabbling of these three should just give us all a reality check.
As fans, we can all go a bit muppetty during transfer windows, demanding the club sign this or that superstar, and are disappointed when the signing doesn't happen.

But, how often has this superstar signing not happened because our manager (whether SAF or Jose) know that superstar will just be a total knobhead and disrupt everything...?

Damn son, having a disagreement can happen, but unfollowing him on instagram? That's just cruel.

Dani Alves is even more cringeworthy than Neymar here. Wonder if they'd done the same if Zlatan was still there.

This (hopefully) goes to show you can buy huge stars, but they don't magically become a good team. Here's to hoping PSG implode.

I'm a big fan of Neymar, so enjoyable to watch but these situations aren't even comparable. Messi over the span of his career has been two or three times the player Neymar will most likely ever be.

Barca built their team around a player who many consider the best to ever play the game.

It doesn't matter that Neymar isn't as good as Messi. The point is that having a player with such power at the club is not bad per se. Compared to Barca, PSG are not big either. Messi/Barca and Neymar/PSG are quite commensurable in terms of the realtion player/club.

Zlatan would be sold already in January if making problems. Because Neymar is way better and more important. Zlatan survived only a season at Barca and was benched towards the end.

I'd hate to be in that environment. Must be nice being in a proper team with good spirit, but I'd hate to be anywhere near a team that's constantly bickering.

It's all very petty, but the kind of stuff that people often don't really move on from. Any little annoyance will take them back to square one.
Can't really see Cavani getting out unscathed either.

Out of the three, Cavani is expendable. It's toxic environment indeed and I can't see them winning the CL again either. It's a team of good players, but not a good team at the moment.

I was wondering if little Dani Alves would've taken Zlatan's ball. Neymar may be better, but if he starts fights with his teammates, because he wants te be the big star who decides everything and throws a hissy fit everytime he doesnt get his way, it won't benefit his team very much.

Zlatan is a PSG legend though. Their fans would allow it

I think it's less Emery being an idiot, and more him being a bit of a coward / extremely realistic of his own position in the hierarchy of power at PSG. I'm sure he's assigned penalties to a particular player (free kicks can be more variable) - it's just that either Cavani or, more likely, Neymar have gone against him and Emery knows he doesn't have the cache at PSG to publicly denounce one of them for not following orders.

If he goes against Neymar and makes him unhappy, whose side do you think most of the fans and upper management will be on? If he goes against Cavani, he's further alienating a player who can often seem quite fragile as far as confidence is concerned. So he's taken the easy way out and put it on them to sort it out, while taking zero responsibility for making either side unhappy.

The Emery angle to it all is an interesting one since it was already clear last season he did not have great control over the squad even before Neymar & the Brasilian Posse fortified. It's interesting simply because Emery has historically taken underdogs lacking superstars and getting them to play better as a team without individual ego. Many might forget but he had issues with players like Deulofeu & Isco not towing the line and they were marginalized.

Now at PSG there is more attention and more superstars in a squad that he won't easily get to tow the line, particularly with ownership that will always choose the talent over the coach. Perhaps only a speedbump in PSG's development but team chemistry/harmony as a collective often trumps individual talent
