He's not pretty enough for Real, i like the player, but he's no model. Personally can't see Real coming after him and other teams won't pay up, why should a grateful boy such as Kane make a fuss over an unnecessary departure from his point of view? I can see him staying for a very long time.

Does anyone remember watching him for one of the English youth teams in a tournament one time and he was laughably bad. His improvement has been unbelievable.
Euro 2011? I remember thinking the manager being stupid playing Berahino on the wing and that lump of shite up front. How things change...

Hard to look world class when you've got absolute dross behind you.

Kane will never be the type of striker to dribble passed 2/3 opponents with skill or speed, but he is an excellent finisher with great movement.

You have to give him crosses or balls into his feet in the box.

Without doubt. I didn't see much of that shite last night but how was he supposed to make any impact with the blackhole of creativity he had behind him?

At this rate I can't see Kane staying beyond this season. Come the WC, if not sooner, one of the big European clubs will make an offer and then then no doubt Utd, City and Chelsea will also show an interest ....although, can't imagine Spurs would let him go to a prem club ....least of all Utd.

Unless Levy pays him what his worth (feckin no chance) i.e. £250k a week, he will certainly lose him and I wouldn't be surprised to see Pochettino then wanting to go as well.

Levy see's Spurs foremost as a business and as the bills for the new stadium come rolling in, he will no doubt be looking to soften the blow by unloading the likes of Kane and Ali.

Am I the only one that thought Kane played ok in the game against Slovenia? His service was pretty poor all night, could have done more with a header that came his way but thats about it. Cant think of too many other good chances, until the Walker cross came in.

I think now that he has a taste for Champions League, and if Spurs fail to qualify for a couple of seasons in a row he could possibly move. Players like him want to be playing in the best competition and winning trophies, it's as simple as that. Im sure he would love to do it with Spurs but if that isnt an option he may look elsewhere.

Sure Spurs academy picked him up when he didnt make the cut at Arsenal. And I can understand a bit of loyalty to the club that gave you the chance and had faith in your development. But there comes a point when he may just outgrow Spurs and want CL football(and trophies) if they fail to qualify. The higher wages are just icing on the cake in this scenario.

Baffling post.

Kane is on his way to becoming the face of English football. If he was at one of the more globally followed clubs, he would already be Mr Premier League.

Real will be gagging to sign him. I am not sure they will pay the sort of money it will require though.

Levy will want something not far off the Neymar fee. It's just not worth it to them to sell for £150m even.

All this "no doubt" and "certainly" re. Kane's predicted departure from Spurs is really just so much wishful thinking.

Levy sees Spurs as football club business. This means maximising the club's annual income from ticket sales, merchandising, participation in the CL, sponsorships and more. He's not going to cut the ground from under all that by countenancing the sale of Kane, (followed by the resignation/departure of the best manager we've had in eons), a move that would be totally counter-productive ... risking the loss of large slice of annual income in return for only a one-off windfall.

Alli is a different kettle of fish - he's not so integral to the team, so IF he wanted to leave next summer (or the summer after that) and enough money is offered from outside the Prem then that could be a runner.

In the background, the finance for the new stadium is already all in place - it doesn't depend even minutely on selling players.

How do you see wage negotiations around the time Kane's contract is up for renewal? Surely there has to be the expectation that his wages are in line with the best strikers in the world?

His contract runs until summer 2022 - that's 4 years after we move into our new stadium next summer.

If, for argument's sake, we assume that Spurs would want to sell him IF he hasn't signed a new contract by the time his current contract has only 2 years left to run (so as not to risk having to sell him later for a reduced fee), that takes us to a time when we will have just completed our 2nd season in the new stadium. At that point in time the club's income will have increased very significantly in real terms compared to now, so we'll be in a position to offer him a lot more in wages (and selected other players too).

We still won't be a position to pay him as much as (say) Real Madrid might offer, but I could see Spurs offering him £200k, plus bonuses. Yes, he could still earn more elsewhere, but in reality - and despite the rhetoric - there are only a few players world-wide who get paid more than that figure.

So really IMO it will come down not to wages so much, but more how successful Spurs become as a club by this point. If we are successful in terms of winning some trophies, then I could see Kane being quite happy to remain and become a true club legend.

I guess we can never know the accurate number, but with the added bonuses I think Kane is on around 150k, and if this is to be trusted Lewandovsky is on around the same. And no doubt Kane will be getting an improved contract. I think all this talk of being underpaid is blown out of proportion. Spurs are not City, United, Real, Barcelona or PSG, but we're not underpaying compared to many many good teams.

Somebody on here or elsewhere said that he has 47 goals in his last 50 competitive games. Is that true?

Why? Kane himself has said football is not simply about money. He may be in the minority sure, but I have no reason not to believe what he has said many times, in summary.... he loves Spurs and wants to spend his career at the club. Now obviously we need to keep progressing and start winning.

Casemiro has nothing to do in that list. Modric is looking okay, has a unique skillset in the engine room and levels Xavi (IMO). On top of that, he was aquired on the cheap.

Bale is an unbelievable athlet who gets people off their seats. He dominated the Premier-League on his own, looked decent without his man ban and was an instant success, not only counting the Champions-League trophy but he tore Barca a new one. From my understanding, the Welsh Wizard has got a huge global fanbase and comes across quite nicely in his interviews.

Kane doesn't have any of that. He's a wonderful scorer of goals, but not the impossible ones Suarez did nor does he bring much excitement onto the pitch. Moreover he comes across dull as af in his interviews, his mouth is constantly open and he doesn't bring a huge fanbase to the table.

Di Maria was sold because of similar problems, as were Ozil or Higuain, IMO. You either are playing absolutely brilliant for years or you look very very good. Of course playing well edges it. Tbf, i didn't take all things into my first case, but the aformentioned ones are the ones i think are important.

You really think a lot of fans would want to buy a tricot flocked with Harry Kane on it in Madrid? I say it again, for me he doesn't have the x-factor nor the looks. For 150 mil. or more, you want in an attacker the hype the likes of Pogba or Neymar attract, especially at Real Madrid.

Should be playing at Manchester United but could also end up like Shearer with just as many goals but fewer trophies.

Aye, the current Madrid manager was reknowned for his looks as a player, right?

Can't see an offer from Real next summer, Benzema just signed a new 4 year deal and is a favourite of both Perez and Zidane it seems.

The only team I can see realistically making an offer is PSG if they decide to move on from Cavani, but there's plenty of question marks there too (FFP, probability of moving Mbappe to CF instead).

In the background, the finance for the new stadium is already all in place - it doesn't depend even minutely on selling players.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has assured Spurs fans that the club have no intention of selling the likes of Gareth Bale and Luka Modric this summer.

Bale's two incredible performances against Inter Milan in the Champions League alerted a number of Europe's biggest clubs to the 21-year-old's potential while Modric has enjoyed his finest season at White Hart Lane to date, picking up the supporters' player of the year award after a series of impressive displays.

Manchester City, Barcelona and Manchester United have all been linked with big-money moves for the pair in the knowledge that they can offer either player the Champions League football that Spurs cannot.

Harry Redknapp has repeatedly stated his desire to keep all of his top players, and Levy supported the Tottenham manager's stance, saying in an open letter to supporters: 'We have spent years and hundreds of millions of pounds investing in our first-team squad and in creating a settled team.

'Having quality players means they automatically attract attention from other clubs - but I can assure you that we have no reason to sell, and every intention of retaining, our key players. We shall simply not entertain any approaches for these players.'

Re daily mail, could this simply be a case of history repeating it self ? ......I think so

May 2011 is the article date. Neither were sold that summer, just as Levy said. Modric was sold the following summer. Bale was sold two and half years after the article date. Neither were sold to Prem rivals. And neither, unlike Kane, came up through the Spurs academy.

You should not assume I want Kane to leave ....

Firstly, I think he's an asset to English football and the premier league, easily the best English player I've seen since Rooney at his very best.

I do not wish him to leave to foreign shores as I enjoy watching him. And I'm happy to see him stay at Spurs because even with Kane, I don't see Spurs as a serious threat to Utds premiership challenge, mainly due to Spurs lack of quality in depth.

Also, and most importantly, my wife is a lifelong Spurs fanatic and Kane keeps her happy!

Real Madrid has changed since the last 2-3 years, they don't target world superstars anymore like they used to. I think you're stuck with some old clichés, look at their purchases recently.

I don't think they've changed. They just have a very good team in place, but if one of the famous BBC really wants out, they're go after Hazard, Mbappe or other hotshots guns blazzing. They don't buy a 100 mil., every season, but have they eve done that year after year? I don't think so! In the past there were spells where they didn't buy the biggest names out there.

Kane is that good. He can be a player they'd be easily interested because he does the most difficult thing in football rather easily. That is scoring goals.

I disagree, i've seen guys such as Iniesta do things with the ball that seem to be much more difficult than 'scoring a goal'. A guy like Gomez would've been an absolute legend to the game if putting the ball in the net would've been the most difficult thing in football.

Remember when this board was debating if they'd pay 50MM for him ~2 years ago?

I think the only place he could possibly depart towards is Madrid -- his age lines him up perfectly to be Benzema's replacement, and he's England's only WC player.

The ultimate objective is to score goals, there is a reason why proven goalscorers or potential consistent goalscorers are the most expensive players around. What you're saying is another debate on its own because what I mean by my statement, is that clubs will always value more a player who can get them goals.

He is also considered a prematurely balding monobrow with a monk’s hairline.
 The whole "doesn't look good enough" for Madrid is nuts.
