Andreas aside, they've signed some fine players this transfer window. (Maksimovic, Neto, Gabriel Paulista, Murillo, Kondogbia, and Guedes) Unsure how they'll look at the start with all these new players; can challenge for the top 4 or look completely disjointed. Will be following the team closely this season.

They have a decent midfield. Kondogbia played a very good match in Madrid.Soler is a great promise and Pereira has a lot of talent. Probably there will be surprising players during the season (Lato, the left back can be one).
In my opinion the best thing is the coach.
Marcelino ensures that the team will not be a disaster which will be good news for la liga.

I agree with carvajal. Marcelino is a great coach and he'll make good use of their youngsters. They look good so far, but it's too early to tell how they'll do. They might be a bit light in various positions, so injuries (parejo, kondogbia, Zaza) could become a problem. I am also not really a big fan of Neto.

Sounds promising. Who was it that used to follow Valencia a fair bit on here? @prarek maybe? If it's not you apologies. I remember somebody following Valencia during the Otamendi rumour times.
Marcelino is the best acquisition they have made. Organization and character won't be an issue. If he can gel all the new signings there's an excellent chance of 4th. There's a lot of good, equally matches sides vying for that 4th place. I'd personally like to see Valencia back near the top of European football.
How many games do you guys think Pereira will get for them out of roughly 50 possible for example? I think it will be tough for him to get as much gametime as last season at Granada but I guess it's sink or swim time. If he can't establish himself at Valencia then his career at Manchester is over.
It's a shame that they've loaned out Nani to Lazio. Of all the clubs out there.

I've only watched him a few times but Parejo always stands out as a classy midfielder, shows how much talent is in the Spanish midfield that he's never been capped. Against Real they looked like a slick, energetic team who could cause anyone problems, interested to see if they keep it up.

I havent really followed Valencia much for the past year. Usually its not a lack of ability or players that see them come up short, its management, tactics, politics and finances. So we'll just have to wait and see if the wheels fall off during the season yet again.

They play with a 4-4-2, like I mentioned before. He rotated the squad tonight and they still managed to win comfortably.
I think they can definitely push for 4th place. Top 6 should be their aim.
Valencia, Sevilla, Villarreal and Sociedad should fight it out for 4th. Maybe Athletic too.

2nd in La Liga, 4 points behind Barcelona and ahead of Real Madrid by the same margin (27 pts).
I'm aware of our interest in Soler, but their Left-Back Toni Lato has been quite impressive as well.
Very good technically, has decent positional awareness and puts in good crosses. Need work on his discipline.

What a turnaround they have had! When a manager makes really the difference.
Marcelino is a very good manager. his Villarreal side was a joy to watch.
He isn't even first choice
Which is strange that they're after Darmian, if the rumor mill is to be believed (probably not).
Gaya is more experienced, but I think Lato has a brighter future. The kid definitely has talent and is only nineteen years of age. He needs to play more regularly.
Darmian's primarily an RB though he's played LB more for us.

Quite the transformation for Mina under Marcelino. 5 goals from 10 shots in the league, last season it was 6 goals from 32 shots and the season before 4 goals from 25 shots. Goals above were against a Division 2 side tonight.
As first few posters said they signed really well in the summer. Kongdogbia played very well for Sevilla but lost his way at Inter, smart pick up.
Gabriel was excellent at Villareal but couldn't settle at Arsenal.
Guedes and Perreria excellent young players.
Only position where they're not as strong is keeper imo. Neto isn't as good as Diego Alves but with Valencia free scoring it's not so crucial.
Add in Parejo, Garay and Zaza and it's suddenly a very good first 11 with good managerial direction for the first time since Nuno. Are the fans still having a go at Jorge Mendes or has that all settled down with the good form?
