"Romelu Lukaku’s kickout directed at Brighton defender Gaetan Bong was missed by officials on Saturday - but a punishment could still ensue

Although the striker did not look at Bong, a frustrated Lukaku appeared to lash out at the defender in his own penalty area in the run up to United’s eventual winner from Ashley Young midway through the second-half.

It remains to be seen whether referee Neil Swarbrick includes the incident in his post-match report. If he confirms that he did not see the incident, the FA could hand Lukaku a retrospective ban."

Clip of the incident.

Ibrahimovic is probably not quite ready to lead the line for 90 minutes week in week out if this results in a ban -- especially not with all the games we've got coming up.

Sshh, I was hoping this wouldn't gain any traction  If it happens put Martial up top with Rashford on the left.

I thought there was generally some blood between the players yesterday, we were obviously annoyed, this kick out, there was a foul on Martial outside of the box in the first half that was not given, some other stuff, I recall Ibra throwing one of their players like a bag of shite couple of minutes he came on. No wonder we didn't want to kick the ball out after that Lindelof tackle, nor do I blame our players. Let's see what happens with Lukaku.

Well he clearly did it, which isn't an ideal start to his defence.

Wouldn't mind Lukaku getting a rest but we have some key games coming up....

Hopefully nothing will come out of this but if he's banned then Rashford will lead the line as Zlatan isn't quite fit for a 90 minutes yet.

Watched that clip about 6 times, and it looks absolutely nothing at all. Doesn't look at the guy, doesn't connect, just looks like getting clear of someone
If that becomes a 3 match ban we might as well all pack up

Thought he was practising for upcoming winter’s ice skating for a sec there. Didn’t notice it while watching the game.

Sure, he looks like getting clear of someone by kicking at him with one leg and then the other. Nothing at all.

Yeah hard to defend that... He does it twice because the first kick missed

He clearly tries to kick him, fails the first time and connects the second time. It's pretty fecking obvious that Lukaku does it with intent.

That hardly ever happens. Usually it is Rashford up top with Martial on the left and I'd expect it to be the case again, though wouldn't surprise me if Zlatan says he's ready to start games.

I must have missed the incident :wenger: Any video of it?
Happens during Young's goal. Can't be missed, really.

Welcome to Manchester reception committee
He flicks out a leg in the universal gesture of go-away known since time immemorial. I think if Lukaku deliberately kicks you, you stay kicked. The Brighton player scarcely flinches, just steps back into the line.

Watched many times but always ended up watching the goal :D

Looks like he might be in trouble but then again it depends on how much noise media makes about the incident.

How fecking stupid is he? I didn’t see it at all yesterday, but what the hell is he actually doing? If the ref had seen that, it’s a red card, the goal is off and we are not winning that game. He looks like a crazy horse trying to kick someone trying to climb him.

Lukaku needs to understand what it means to play for Manchester United, he was extremely lucky seeing this after the game.

You've got no idea what has happened beforehand, whether Bong was manhandling him or had a little kick that you cannot see there, there're many things that can wind a player up. Sure, shouldn't have happened, it's unprofessional that might be punished now but it happens to many if not all of the players.

What ? To react like that ? No, I'm sorry it doesn't happen to many of them

Silva doesn't get retrospective action for a blatant dive, but Lukaku does for this?

Doesn’t matter though, does it? Weaker teams/players are instructed by default to mess with our players. I know Zlatan was stepped on, but still didn’t warrant an elbow kind-of-thing. We won that game and won this one, but would have been incredibly different and uncomfortable for Lukaku had he been given the red card and us drawing/losing

Nonchalantly scoring the winner...

What an odd post, and who's Bongo?
