Yeah he's always really positive about us. Think he respects us as we were always their closest rival.

Interesting that he says that he doesn't shout at defenders during a match because he wants the team to stay positive. I thought it was just his personality but he says he does it indoors.

De Gea seemed quite Scholes-like in that interview, seemed almost uncomfortable with the barrage of praise. I liked De Gea explaining some of those saves and what the thought and what he saw. Henry was just jizzing over him for 10 minutes solid though. It was a bit weird.
Really? That's pretty much how Henry has done all the inteviews with top players I've seen. Always picks out standout stuff and comment on it being amazing.

I hope De Gea stays with us, we would probably be sitting mid table if not for his heroics so far this season and I do not see an immediate replacement for him.

Well that's just blatantly false. He's barely had anything to do in most of our games
De Gea’s English is incredible considering he probably barely knew a word just 6/7 years ago.
Me too. That kind of self-belief is amazing. I guess that's why so many of SAF's signings were so successful. It must have been the first criteria he looks for in players when he wants to sign them and not any technical abilities. Another one is Smalling who gave it back to Southgate after being openly questioned about his abilities.
It's almost as if you disappeared from the face of earth for a couple of years and came back just to make this post.
It's still nuts how little respect keepers and to an extent defenders get. When a striker scores a hattrick no one ever says "oh you only won because of your striker scoring 3 goals" but if after De Gea's performance at Arsenal all I heard was "De Gea won you the game"/"You only won cause De Gea made 14 saves" as if it's a criticism that our best player wins us games.

That is the spirit, his reply shows confidence and that is exactly what we should have in our team ALWAYS. Hope we keep the guy for many years and Madrid just go and sign a GK and piss off. Future captain between him and Pogba for me.
