All over now, key points (according to MUTV):

READY TO BOUNCE BACK
The boss feels Sunday’s derby defeat will provide extra motivation for the Reds to return to winning ways against Bournemouth. He said: “When you lose, you probably have a little bit more desire to win. Nobody likes to lose once, nobody likes to lose twice. I think it’s something that belongs to every team in the world. When you lose a match, you have that little bit extra to give in the next match.”

'WE TRY TO WIN ALL THE TIME'
Jose added: “We try to win all the time and, I repeat, when you have a bad result, you don’t want to have two bad results. We lost against Chelsea and the next match we had a little bit extra to try to win. Chelsea lost last weekend [against West Ham] - for sure they have a little bit more to give in the next match.”

TEAM NEWS
The boss has told MUTV he doesn’t yet know if Marcos Rojo can face the Cherries, after the defender suffered a head wound against Manchester City, but is boosted by Phil Jones’s return to fitness.

'ONE MATCH AT A TIME'
The boss insists he’s taking every challenge as it comes, regardless of the gap at the top of the table. “I told you when it was eight points or something like that, we go match after match, one match at a time, try to win the match, try to get maximum points. We have the number of points we have, last season we had seven or eight less in this moment. Last season, we drew at home to Bournemouth, now let’s try to do better than we did last season.”

Mourinho on City's post match celebrations/derby tunnel fracas: "The only thing I can say is that for me it was just a question of diversity, a diversity in behaviours, diversity in education, just that and nothing more than that." #MUFC #MCFC

And that was the end of Mourinho trying to be nice with Pep since last season.

Mourinho is overreacting. Just move on, take the L, put the pic in the dressing room, motivate the players, win matches and try to beat the cnuts at the Etihad.

 He's basically refused to say anything about it. He emphasised that it was a presser about Bournmouth.

Here we go again. He has literally come out and and tried to make as little of it as possible with the least inflammatory comment we could have expected. Watch yet another thread go down the toilet

Why does every thread seem to be hijacked by the anti- Mourinho brigade. As you said, if anything, he's underplaying the story rather than overreacting.

I'm not totally fluent in English, but "it was just a question of diversity, a diversity in behaviours, diversity in education, just that and nothing more than that."
sounds like an overreaction to me.

Not really, did you *watch* the presser? He is literally downplaying it.

You're even quoting that he said ".. and nothing more than that" ffs

So, if you lose you always have that impetus to give more in the next match?

Therein is the issue. If you can give more after a loss then it's indicative that you didn't give your all in the City match.
Word it this way and it's tantamount to a criticism of the teams effort levels in the loss.

You not being fluent in English doesn't have anything with it.

Interesting way of reading it. It's as if you heard what you wanted to hear.

It's what the quote infers, logically. You can't make an admission of increased desire as probable without inferring that the same was lacking in some aspect leading to the loss.

Ffs, he didn't mean what you think, but please do tell us how team really doesn't want to win game after winning previous one.

It's a platitude for the press, not a scientific analysis of motivation.

Thread down the gutter and it's not even 2nd page.
Look, it's not the fans' fault if Mourinho chooses to use this press conference to subtly hyperventilate about Man City and imply criticism by promising to bounce back.

Just checking in on the press conference and nice to see Jose calm..... his response to City's confetti moment was pretty good. Didn't go on a rant or anything. Less said the better. Good.

Will be interesting to see how the team reacts after the derby. It will be telling and possibly set the tone for the crucial and jam packed Christmas period.

From what I’ve seen this year so far, this team is much more closely knit and have a strong spirit about them. I’m feeling positive about them being able to bounce back in style.
