What an amazing story he has.

From conquering the world of football with his magical movements and attacking instincts, George Weah has just been elected the president of his country.

Undoubtedly one of the very best strikers I have seen. Pace, trickery, heart. He had it all. He was one hell of a striker.

A lot of footballers just stop living after ending their careers. It's refreshing to hear stories like this.

Some rumours going around that he's Charles Taylors' puppet though. Which would be a bad thing, him being a war criminal and stuff.

Not know nearly enough about the case to make an informed judgement on it though. So, good for him :)

Let's hope he makes a better impression there than he did at City.

I've always thought Roy Keane would make an excellent Uachtaran na heireann.

Not sure what you are getting at but City was a minor blip in a brilliant career.
What I am getting at is that he was completely shocking at the club I support whilst taking a hefty wage, the fact he was a wonderfulful player elsewhere makes that mire galling not less. When Veron, Di Maria and or Forlan were a huge flop at United did it cheer you up that they had been outstanding elsewhere?

I didn't think it was that difficult a concept to grasp, my apologies.

Who cares about City anyway? It’s a mercenaries club any player winding down his career who can make a nice package there would have done the same thing it’s nothing on Weah.

Apart from money why would anyone bother with City? Club from nowhere that hit the lottery and has endless money to give away that’s about all they have going for them.

Eh, don't think City were particularly rich when Weah played for them.

Could be wrong. Is this not their first Sheik?

Everyone on here was delighted to see him do well. I don't remember a single poster moaning about his Golden Foots and WC Golden Ball.

May well be different if it were now, too many people around talking BS all day.

Before the sheikhs there was that Thaksin fella throwing money at any random mercenary they could find.

Didn't really bother me tbh. You've got more pressing issues in your life if that kind of thing which has no bearing whatsoever on your day to day actually makes you feel any differently to how you would have felt if you hadn't known.
