Was watching Green Street the other day and this is a line from the film.

[Matt] We could have died that day in Manchester.
Everybody knew it. But we didn't.

Ike said later that the story travelled across England faster than the death of Lady Di.

The GSE were finally back.
Genuinely one of the most absurd lines I've ever heard

I think we need another SW thread for the prequel trilogy.

Umm

"Love won’t save you, Padme. Only my new powers can do that"

or

"I don’t like sand. It’s coarse and rough and irritating and it gets everywhere."

Poor Hayden Christiansen, forever tainted.

Gawd, that's bad. I'm still obsessed with TD S1, so I won't be bothering with S2 if it's that poor.

I wouldn't recommend you S2 anyway. It's significantly inferior compared to S1.

Can't remember if it were Psychoville or Corrie, but a character said "Vendetta? Ain't that a posh ice cream?" :houllier:

There was a website of Vince Vaughan's lines in True Detective 2 and they were so horrible. Not blaming Vince obviously as I don't know how he could have said some of the lines written for him that season

My fave was"it's like blue balls in your heart"

I don't think I've seen an accomplished show turn out so poor on its return

McConaughey's charisma is the only thing that keeps TD from being a standard cop/serial killer story, when all's truly told. And I speak as someone who's fascinated by the show.

The first one has nothing wrong on it, but the second one might be the worst line ever done in a movie.

Harrelson's alright as well and the whole gothic vibe holds the promise of something more, but yeah by around the halfway point it quickly becomes a standard cop story. Second series is shocking, with Vaughn of course being the standout for crappy lines.

I'm sorry but how can you not mention Quintus Lentulus Batiatus, this guy is the best character who's got the most ridiculous OTT lines

"You appear as honorable man yet attempt to slip cock in ass"

(To Spartacus) "You shit upon honourable agreements and press for fresh demands. Tell me Thracian, how will you pay for her release if found? Hmm? Her transport? Do you shoot magic coins out of your ass? If so, squat and produce!"

"Words fall from mouth as shit from ass."

"Once again the gods spread the cheeks and ram cock in fecking ass!"

“Make sure you’ve got a round in the chamber and the safety off”

- Sheriff Rick Grimes to deputy holding a Glock in Ep. 1 of Walking Dead

A Glock’s safety is its trigger.

I don't agree (with the comment about the first one). I think that "...only my new powers can do that" sounds like it was written by a 10 year old.

"What's that?"

"It's blue light"

"What does it do?"

"It turns blue."

He's been lazy since and loves to borrow from his own previous work but the man wrote some of the best dialogue TV has seen with The West Wing.

Yeah Sorkin is just a classic example of someone getting stuck up their own arse. The Newsroom has some shockingly bad dialogue.

You could argue the same thing happened with Pizzolatto after true detective season one's success and hence why we got the awful dialogue in season two.

I avoided The Newsroom after reading enough slating of it. I remember being in the cinema and a trailor came on, after about 20 seconds I said "this was written by Sorkin"; it was that Facebook movie he did.

I always find it funny when the name of the film is said in the film.
