Binged this today.. absolutely loved it. One of the best dark dark comedy I have ever watched. Two leads' performance was amazing. In 2 minds if I want a second season of this given the way S1 ended.

I watched this a while ago when it was on channel 4 and it’s for sure worth a binge. Bits of it are pretty f*&ked up but hilarious. Both the leads are pretty good in it as well.

Watched one ep, not really moved me. Bit weird as they have made look American even though it’s in England.
I noticed that from the trailer. Makes it look kinda interesting I guess, and I never think the UK looks well on film usually anyway.

I think that filming it with an American hue, that kind of idealistic middle class suburban life you see portrayed on so many shows, is to contrast with the awfulness of the protagonists and the general darkness of the show, perhaps?

I watched two episodes now and am still failing to find any humour in it. I'll try the third tonight.

I’m on the last episode of the season. Takes a while to get fully going, wasn’t sure about it at the start. You need to stick with it.

I think it got better with every episode and I liked the ending.
The ending was a bit heartbreaking for me but yes it did suit the somewhat dark and bleak attitude of the series. Do you think they will do a second season and rejig it?

I was disappointed with the ending. Character arcs were all left open for another season. I think it would've worked far better as a standalone.

It's based on a comic that covers the first season. So if they do a second season, there would be no more source material left to draw from.

They joke about it in the series, something along the lines of "if it was a movie, we would've been American"

It's a bit weird. I do like the locations, think it's filmed in Surrey, some of the houses are the individually architecturally designed houses from the 1960s, bit like George Best's old place, they were modern back then but just look weird now, great for the series.

It does get better as it goes on. I' on episode 6 and will watch the rest tonight.

Just watched the first episode, quite liked the offbeat humour of it.

I started watching this after seeing this thread, got to say I've watched 4 episodes so far and I am really enjoying it. My sort of humour.

Wasn't convinced by his job in this show. He was far too eek to be a higher ranking copper.
In the episode I've watched he just acted pretty much identically to Super Hans which made him seem all the more amusing. But aye, quite incompetent.

I've watched the first two but I'm not getting all the hype yet. I'm going to stick with it and see where it goes, even though I'm not really feeling the urge to watch the next one.

It was probably the 4th ep before I started wanting to know what would happen in the end.

Yeah it's pretty good, easy to binge watch too as it's only about 20 minutes an episode.

Really enjoyed this, funny and engaging. Too many shows are being created to be long running epics with movie length episodes so its nice to have a short series of short episodes that should be self contained in one series.

The ending was great, I was thinking throughout that there might be some extenuating circumstances for the murder or he might put in a plea for insanity but considering all the crimes he committed there was no way they'd get away with it. This was the only "happy" ending that would work in a real world context.

Bet it didn't take you half as long as it took me to work out where I'd seen the blonde lezzer cop before. I decided I'd test my brain, instead of looking her up. Took me four full flipping episodes for the penny to drop.

Agree with people about it getting better as the season goes on. I think that's because it takes you a few episodes to care about the protagonists. At the beginning they're such cold fish you don't give a shit about them, which makes it hard to get invested in their story.

It was good. Not great, but engaging. Alex Lawther and Jessica Barden have chemistry.

Couldn't believe she was 25 though in real life, she looks quite young.

EDIT: Oh yeah, she played Justine in Penny Dreadful. Funny I didn't recognize her straightaway.
