This has been explained hundred times and discussed to death. Alexis would take the role of Martial, Rashford as second forward. He's not longer just a support player but a main man looking to be supplied. We're having hard time to get supply for Martial, Lukaku... Alexis may improve us but I don't see that much improvement since the root cause of problem lies with the supply. And with not much return, you're having problem with develop your future stars in Martial & Rashford. It's not exactly cheap either if you don't have a free run for his signature. Question for you is whether it's worth it this short term little gain?

This

Mourinho wanted Perisic to fill a specific role in the team. Stretch the pitch, run behind fullbacks, cross the ball. Just getting good players in the team doesnt make a good team; you need players with the right qualities in the right positions.

Is it possible for us to get involved in some way to ramp the price up? He would strengthen them even further and I hope we're not just stood around with our dicks in our hands.

30m in this climate for a player like Sanchez is a fecking mega bargain.

Can't he be a AMR / ST?
Then you would bin Lukaku? What is AMR? Alexis is no longer a winger. His workrate overall has significantly decrease. Playing as winger is considered as out of position for him now with all the development to become the player he is today.

It may work but it may backfire big time and we have headline: " United got snubbed; City won again..." Alexis few months away being a free agent, it's not easy to hike the price; let alone save face if you get caught posturing. Seriously doesn't look worth the hassle.

We all know City will eventually pay the £35m anyway. If it’s a matter of price, it will obviously be done.

Alexis is after the money at this point of his career. He will go where they offer him the most. Apparently City are the ones who can pay him mega money. He will also meet his former boss, even if they had their issues in the past.

£35m for Sánchez is a bargain anyway, ignoring the contract. City will pay it, especially with Jesus’ injury.

Absolute steal at that price, we should make a bid to drive the price up and not allow City to get him so cheap.

What a signing he is going too be for 35m max and a team that by a clear distance is already the best in the league :nono:

City just go from strength to strength. And at only £35m to boot.

Annoying.

It would only have the effect of driving the price up if the player had any interest in potentially joining us.

Only a matter of time till he's a City player.

If Sanchez joins city we should make a cheeky bid for Aguero.

What would be the point of that..?
Its a transfer that would never happen, and we'd just look stupid to be "snubbed"...:houllier:

As good as he is we already have Martial and Rashford vying for that LW position, I'd much rather an an out and out winger like Mahrez for RW as imo that'd help us a lot more at the moment.

So quadruple in the bag for him then.

He preferred City than us, that shows how much United has fallen though

Where the grass is greener.
The sooner this most obvious transfer happens, so I can stop reading people on here asking daft questions like "why don't we try and sign him?!" the better.

Well According to the papers, we get “snubbed” every week. Even by players we havent even been in for

But yeah, Aguero would never make the switch. Hazard would even be more likely, I think.

It is pretty impressive what City are doing. Flying high and looking to improve further.

Where will he play though? Sane and Sterling are red hot and Aguero is Aguero - one of the finest.

And you got Silva 2 in bench.

Probably various positions, as he can play up front as well as on either wing. With Jesus out for a few months, up front (alternating with or alongside) Aguero is probably the best guess initially.
