[Irrelevant point] once killed somebody by driving three times faster than the speed limit while drunk.

His career was kinda already over, or at least on the skids. Nowhere near the first team squad and failed loan spell before that. I bet Cafu and the likes are embarrassed about the hyperbolic comparisons now, the guys just a plodder that got a tiny bit of praise cos he likes to put the boot in, and he's a Scouse. Good riddance to him when he inevitably gets punted out to some Championship team - no place for wankers like that who karate kick their birds when on the ale.

There's always been stories about him being a bit of cnut right from his debut in and around Liverpool. Likes the nightlife apparently and likes to act Billy Big Bollocks. He could always audition for the new Goonies rejig seen as the original Sloth sadly passed away.

Does the fact that he's still with the woman he assualted have any impact on the ridiculously light sentence?
Probably. It's not her pressing charges, plus she said the injuries she got were not caused by him.

Sad really.

He's a dickhead and she's stupid, if this is true.
It is true. You never know the full circumstances but yeah, pretty depressing.

Liveprool FC have said this...
“We have expressed to him our disappointment and anger that he has failed to live up to the values of Liverpool Football Club, in this specific instance.

“The club has allowed the legal formalities to reach a conclusion before deciding on or implementing any internal disciplinary action. That internal process will now begin.”

They'll sack him for sure.

Had to look that up. Unbelievable "sentence" he got too...

After initially facing a prison sentence, Alonso was fined €61,000 and banned from driving for three years and four months.
What an utter cnut of a human being.

Christ - never heard that about [Irrelevant point] before! How you can get away with that is nuts - money puts you in a position "above the law" in some cases it seems.

I had never heard this story either. Absolutely scandalous. Kill someone with your car when you are pissed and get a fine. Wow.

Liverpool have announced they are 'angry' with him and now start an investigation into his behaviour.

Vicious bosses.

I dunno really. It's not an offence related to football and he's had a sentence handed to him which he'll serve. The only punishment to come is if the club don't want to associate with him anymore, which is completely down to Liverpool Football Club and their supporters.

It's one of those cases where you have to admit there's more to judge than simply him as a footballer. Football might be the public eye in which he exists but the incident had nothing to do with football. In a decent world no woman would associate with him until he shows a fairly huge amount of change because why would you want to be in a relationship with somebody who'd kick you on the floor several times.

However, the woman sounds like a fecking moron given that they're back together.

So a shite squad player gets the stern club statement, while the confirmed racist gets backed to the hilt. Oh, and he just happened to be their best player by a country mile.

40 hours of unpaid work.

Business as usual in Liverpools's defence then.

Not to judge anyone by their looks, but if you asked me to show you an inbred wifebeater I'd probably just google a picture of Jon Flanagan.

Well partly stupid, being with a footballer leads to a luxury life

I cant think of another reason for her to stay with him
C’mon now. People live with their abusive partners for years and most of them aren’t footballers. It’s not just a binary decision sometimes to be able to separate away. She should do it, but only she knows why she isn’t.

I had no idea about Alonso, what a scumbag, disgraceful sentence. He can go about his life and the family of the lady have to live with the loss of a loved one.
