Loved the book, and I am a little surprised it has taken this long for it to be adapted. Read a while ago that it was Netflix's most expensive series per show to make, matching the budget of the first few seasons of GOT. I avidly hope that they do a great job with this, could further open the way for a higher quality of sci-fi shows to be made, rather than the usual pulp that is produced. Perhaps someone will have a go at Alistair Reynolds, would love to see Hyperion from Dan Simmons with a decent budget, and it must be time for an attempt at one of the Culture books.

Netflix has done a lot promoting on this, just been put on Netflix today.

Going to start it tonight, anyone else started yet? No spoilers please.

I’m half way through and it’s awesome. Was worried about how they would adapt the book but the screenplay is solid and the design and FX are just gorgeous.

Really good casting for the lead as well. Loved Joel Kinnaman in ‘The Killing’.

Someone please binge the show for me so I know whether to add it to my list of must watch shows. Also, tell me if my wife would like it.
There are lots of boobs there, even more than in Game of Thrones. And there is something for your wife too.

Seriously, it's quite good if you're into this genre

What film/show is this similar to?
I can’t think of any series/film the plot is similar to but it’s very Philip K Dick, it’s dark, violent, sexual and cyberpunk. I’ve almost finished it now and it’s on par with the book; which is a big compliment.

Thanks. Been watching series now as I've run out of movies.

The Sinner was ok, Mindhunter was fantastic and Dark so far is ok. I'll watch this next.

I watched the first two episodes last night and really enjoyed them. I've a lot on today and needed to sleep but I was sorely tempted to binge through the whole lot of it!

Loving everything about it so far except for Ortega. Think she's poorly acted and a bit over the top.
Completely agree, shes actually ruining the show for me. Her character is also poorly written or maybe its because shes poorly acted, as you say
I don't understand why they keep stereotyping every hispanic female as loud and lacking self control.
Its like they think "if shes loud people will think shes strong and charismatic". Every episode she’s either yelling or trying to square up with someone. It’s like ‘dial it back a little’. No one is pissed off that much all the time
