Apparently his entourage went above the manager and asked the owners for him to start every game, despite some reports saying he arrived to the club with a ”very high” body fat percentage. The manager went with another keeper for the first game of the season.

The same reports added that Schmeichel was not adhering to the squad rules such as meeting times and club-mandated rest days.

When he did play he was shit and the team won two out of the six he played before he was dropped again. So he didn’t really become a fan favourite to say the least.
