every other team gets the most out of their players.

Every single player we have signed has looked poor. For years now.

We are so much better than this.

Well said - particularly line 3.

I wouldn't necessarily agree that everybody we have signed has looked poor.

Yeah they’ve got talent but it’s useless if you can’t play as a team. Or the manager insists on playing formations that are not working. Why we have a team that does not seem to find any space at all when attacking is simply down to the manager.

It really is worrying that literally every single player we sign always has question marks over them, why can’t they come in and just perform?

Yes, there is a lot of pressure but they surely all can’t be bottlers?

It really has to come down to coaching and not getting the best out of what we have.

What are we expecting really? Mourinho is a defensive coach. It's like asking Pep teams to be more like Atletico Madrid. It's not going to happen. We could have Messi and Ronaldo in our team and we'd still grind out matches simply because of our manager. It's his style and it's not going to change regardless of who we have on the pitch.

Fergie could win big games with Phil Neville in midfield, Gibson in the side, O'Shea etc etc etc. There was a mental toughness throughout those squads, a shared goal, made them greater than the sum of their parts.

Being talented alone doesn't crack. Attitude is very important. There was a moment in 15th or 20th minute, where Lukaku held up brilliantly to pass to Sanchez who marvelously took on the defender but I was seeing martial who instead of running into the box was walking.

Then in the final moments same thing but this time by Lukaku, instead of running towards the box , he was walking.

Pogba another example of having a shit attitude. He is more interested in doing his Hollywood flicks than doing the basics right.

And the less said about Smalling the better. 6 feet 3 inch diving. These are stupidity.

Jose must be ruthless and stop promoting mediocrity

Poorly coached, we honestly look unmotivated and totally uninterested.

We're tactically a joke, with no identity or style. Pretty much every other team in the league has some sort of style you could point to, you know sort of what their gameplan is. We look void of anything even close to resembling that.

Anyone but Rashford
Our players are among the most overrated in the league. Especially Lingard of late, Martial, Mata and Matic. The former two are inconsistent and nowhere near the standards shown at top clubs and the latter has been run into the ground. Martial's attitude borders on disgraceful while Mata is bang average.

We're a decent team. Nothing special. We have a great goalkeeper and two very good outfield players. Then a squad of mediocrity which needs improvement.

At home we are grand. It is away from home. It is always tough regardless of who we play.

People saying other clubs aren’t getting the most out of their players clearly aren’t seeing the numbers Kane, Salah and Aguero are putting up this season.

It’s just laziness....we have the laziest set of players in the country. There’s a statistic that they have run the least mileage in the top 6.

You just need to see City & Liverpool press aggressively and hunt in packs. United don’t start putting pressure on the opponents until they cross the halfway line.

Which took nearly a decade to instill.

What can you expect from a manager that singlehandedly rejected and sent away the currently two best players in the league, De Bruyne and Salah.
He's rejected Lukaku before, who blossomed away from Mourinho and is now being ruined by him again. He was about to ruin Hazard. He ruined Mkhitaryan. He stunted Martial for a long time, and is well in the process of ruining Rashford.

Lingard is doing well though.

Nobody is saying no other clubs are getting the most out of their players. That’s as stupid in the premise in the OP that every other club is getting the most out of their players.

If you want to talk numbers, then our clean sheats, goals against and points tally shows that we’re getting the most out of some of our players. Our midfield and attack are currently malfunctioning, though. Sanchez will take a few games to bed in (but already look a class above) and Pogba needs to buck his ideas up pronto. Overall, though, there’s no need to panic. We’ll be fine. Won’t stop the usual suspects shitting the bed, of course.

It is true though, we are better than what we're showing. There's a few big reasons for this problem which we discuss all the time. There's not much we as supporters can do. @Wumminator you may want to have a discussion with the manager?:D

This pisses me off more than anything else. So many times crap sides like Newcastle and Huddersfield are playing better than us simply because they're putting the work in. What exactly are we saving energy for? So they can dance in the clubs at night?

Get used to it mate. We are stuck with this until Mourinho leaves.

I’m sick to death of it.

You are 100% right, we are so much better than this.

Unfortunately we have a manager that seemingly doesn’t have a clue how to setup a team to attack any more.

We have no real style of play. When the counter attack doesn't work we're clueless.

I think we hear these sentences a lot in media but we don't actually believe it, things like players are lazy and not up for it or thinking they have already made it etc. But several times today this was happening a lot during the match. Martial for most of the match thought he didn't have to work as hard as others, the same was the case with Lukaku, several times we had 4 players on top (Lukaku, Martial, Lingard and Sanchez) While only Lingard and Sanchez pressed with any sort of conviction the other two went into jog mode, this resulted in Newcastle easily playing it out from the back and never really pinned them back with constant pressure. Compare our pressing with City against Leicester and how their pressing resulted in several chances for City it was night and day.

Best example of our laziness is the goal we conceded, Young was shouting towards Lukaku to come back and help with the set piece, Lukaku jogged slowly and by the time the free kick was taken he could not reach the defending zone he was outside the box if i remember correctly, subsequently Pogba could not jump and then we conceded.

Another thing we obviously have huge issue is playing out from the back. With everybody moving towards at least one ball playing CB, we have our two best center backs both poor on the ball. What we need to understand is we can have Messi and Ronaldo up top, but they need to be given the ball in threatening areas to succeed. Our CB's kept passing it to Valencia who went back to them and then back to DDG who punt it forward and then headed back towards our CB's again.

Several people have touched this point, why do we look so disjointed and despite having great attacking players look so ponderous. It is simple our CB's rarely pass between the lines likewise Matic, Pogba could do it, but he needs to be the one at the end of those in between the lines passes so that he can turn and thread passes to Forwards and create chances. How many times did we get our players in between the lines during the match. All top teams pass it out from the back and find those within line passes and play through teams. We used to get away during the late Fergie years without a ball playing CB since Carrick and Scholes were amazing at it, even Giggs was good at it. Unless we sort out CB's or Matic somehow finds passing range we will keep struggling against any decent side who will press our CB's.
