I hate it when we go into the home leg without an away goal; it’s always so tense.

McTominay man of the match for me.

Not a good performance, so poor in possession. DDG kept us in the game.

We should be worried about the second leg, we'll be in all sorts of trouble if they score - and we didn't really look very solid at the back currently.

Why... it's only prolonging the inevitable knock out .
Once we meet a decent side we'll be stuffed.
If rather lose to this than play Spurs or Liverpool next and lose.
That is actually wrong. When we come up against a good team, that is where Mourinhos tactics come to fruition. Think of Inter Milan vs barca or Simones Atheltico against Barca. They could not score against them.

Um, we've been poor but why are people treating Sevilla as some kind of pub team? They are a really good side who rarely lose at home. We played like this under SAF in Europe soo many times. A draw would be a good result for us here.
    This.

Exactly. I really don't know what the BT commentators are talking about at this point.
Maybe they mean in the context of the game considering they had few good chances to score and we were not at the races today.

He is struggling isn't he... he needs to relax, but that No 9 shirt may be wearing heavy on him... he seems like he struggles to deal with being in that team.

BUT.... flippin eck, we are soooooooooooo poor, slow and lacking ambition as an attacking unit. You can't tell me the players actually enjoy this.
They are just not enjoying this. Completely defense oriented training is what they are getting.

Tough match. Decent performance and good result. Will be tough at Old Trafford though. We will score and just defend like we did against Celta Vigo last season.

Inter had the absolute perfect team for Jose's tactics, back then. We absolutely do not have that kind of personnel.

Doesn't really favour any one tbh. Sevilla will be delighted to avoid the away goal. United will be delighted to be level going to OT.

I think 0-0 is a very dangerous result for any team at home in the second leg though. United need to be careful.
It favours United. I'm a bit tired of posting this today but I will again: in about two thirds of all cases the team that gets a 0-0 draw away from home in the first leg wins the tie.

Yeah, we can still end up going out. But the result is in our favour. Sevilla are very strong at home and nowhere near as strong away from home.

Embarrassing peformance. We are lucky to get away with an result which isn't that bad, but that was more luck and De Gea than anything Jose deserve praise for.
Still not that confident we will get through but the most important thing is that we are a poor football team and you can't make excuses for Jose after what we spend.

Think jose came for a clean sheet, he got it. He backs united to win at home, its an okay result, dint think they had a clear cut opportunity apart from a header. United had one good chance for lukaku. Our defense is very very poor, Valencia was running backwards as soon as their winger had the ball. Lindelof is shite.

The second half was certainly better than first one, there was some good build up between Sanchez/Pogba/Lukaku for a couple of moves. Our midfield crisis has worsened with Herrera getting injured. Mctominay must be laughing at perreira.

Exactly, people think we'll have the advantage but we won't, they score an away goal at OT (and on tonights evidence they're more likely to score than us) and we're fecked.
I think we will win against Sevilla at OT. Sevilla only lost once in 38 or more at home I think, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Barcelona haven't won games at Sevilla's home.

In fact, he has been quite awful tonight (Lukaku). This isn't the performance of a top striker. His touch is poor, and he has a lack of anticipation.

Sevilla will be more dangerous at OT. I'm quite confident of that.

Shocking performance. This Sevilla side lost to fecking Eibar 5-1 not so long ago, and they managed to absolutely batter us. Tactically we are shambolic, there is no urgency in our play, and we can barely string few passes together.

Commentator saying there that Sevilla have an absolute mountain to climb and United are completely in control of the tie. Whereas the truth of the matter is that Sevilla need one goal and they're through.
No, we're the ones that only need a goal to get through especially since they clearly showed how toothless they are even at home

What like the away performance against Chelsea, Spurs and Liverpool this season?

The evidence on our away performances against the better opposition under Jose speaks for itself. Shite.

If we can't outscore this team at home we don't deserve to go thru anyway....
And in what way is that acceptable? If we can’t beat Sevilla after nearly 2 seasons of Jose and all the money spent I don’t want him here anymore. We have zero cohesion or direction, the players are completely winging it and it’s just not good enough. Not sure why it’s being accepted so widely.

Toothless is not a word I would use to describe them tonight. They were unlucky to come up against one of the best shot stoppers football has ever seen. Any other goalie between our sticks and they would have scored at least one.

Thing is, this is what we now accept. Job done, yes... and we should commend the team on another clean sheet, definitely.

But that's a poor game. The quality was poor. V poor. One shot on target???? Please....

Have you watched some of the other teams in the last 16?

Well I think we are going to spank at least 2 past them so speak for yourself.

We have to win, whereas a score draw is good enough for Sevilla. How doesn't that favour them? Have you seen our attacking play recently?
Because now they have to avoid defeat at Old Trafford. Which is actually not that easy. Only two teams got the sort of result at OT this season that Sevilla need.

    Attack is not the problem.
Our midfield can't hold onto the ball, unable to make short/simple passes.
This results in the ball ending up near our penalty box and our entire team end up defending.
At the moment Sanchez is not helping.

Which one, you mean heading in the keepers range at point blank? C'mon this Sevilla team isn't any bit scary if we're being honest

Spurs was poor, I give you that. We should have played a 4-3-3. Drew with Liverpool who put four past City, so that is a good result. Chelsea was tight and Morata got that header.

My point is that with Mourinhos tactics when we come up against good teams we dont get beat too well. Bayern Munich or PSG will not put four past us in Germany or France. I am not saying we would win, but we keep it tight, a bit like Simone.

A nothing game - disappointing really. Sevilla’s defence isn’t exactly the strongest and we just didn’t threaten tactically and because we were sloppy when we did break.

Typical Jose structured away performance - but makes the home game shit or burst in an already busy period. No room for mistakes

True, but one of those teams was Burnley. I just think we could have made it a lot more comfortable for ourselves for the second leg, but I guess Sevilla is not an easy place to come and get a result.

On the evidence of this season we just don't have it in ourselves. 0-0 was about the best I hoped for, maybe somehow nicking one against the run of play.

We still should win at Old Trafford though. Would be unacceptable not to.
