Not sure we'll be after him. The timing just isn't ideal. Lewa can sustain his level of quality for at least another 3 years. Werner otoh won't be willing to join a new club as a mere option, and will be expensive as feck.
We should rather try to secure Arp from HSV(the next big German striker thing after Werner), and slowly develop him into our replacement for Robert.

Lewy said he would like Bayern to sign a young back-up striker.
Werner already has left that status.

Lewy does want somebody to give him sometimes a little rest - but for sure does not want somebody with whom he has to compete. For that what Lewy is talking of - to have sometimes somebody to give him a rest after 70 or 85 minutes we really do not need a new striker. It is not that we do not need that but he will not get rested when there is still a result to go for and in the other matches where you just run time down or secure your result you can play strikerless or give time to the promising strikers we have in the U23.

I think he'll end up at Madrid next season or the one after that. Seems a good replacement for Benzema

This is the ‘type’ of forward I’ve had preferred over Lukaku. Jose has his ideals of course, but they aren’t the same as mine.

We already have Lacazette who looks good, but i still wouldn't mind him here. We would have 2 very good CFs at that point.

Or myabe he can also play as second striker?

He said he prefers us rather than Liverpool in an interview with fourfourtwo apparently.

“Yes, playing in the Premier League is a dream for me," he said.
"In Liverpool it’s also their stadium and the atmosphere. But when I have to decide, I’m more Manchester United than Liverpool.

“I’m now at a point where at some stage in the future I’d like to play in a team that wins titles.”

Not sure about how reliable it is though.

Hands off, we need him!
Replace Lewandowski?

Also, he's been off form this season, worryingly considering the WC is around the corner, he had a fire start to the season but has tailed off. Really hope he finds his form by the end of the season so that he can be high in confidence for the WC, where he should be starting.

Wait, he's a forward?!

 Initially thought he's a RB because you know, had to re-reread and google again.

Appreciate the support of our club, but we don't need another forward.
*Unless probably if players like Dybala suddenly available this summer.*

I expect Lewandowski to push for a Real transfer (or any big money transfer, at that) more than not, with his change in management. And Lewandowski or not, Werner is also usable on the wing due to his speed.

I think he has talked about being a United supporter for a long time

"As a young boy, you always dream of the big club you'd like to play for," he told Sky

"It used to be Manchester United under Alex Ferguson, who always won. A young boy is always a fan of those who win"

"You can't just drop something like that. When it's going well, you dream of playing somewhere else."

IMO these are the type of players we must be pursuing, guys like Werner, Meunier, Kessie who love the club and would give 100% everyday no matter what.
No more Di Marias or Bales, they may be superstars but they don't respect the badge, they don't love this club

He'd be a very good signing for United, Lukaku's good enough to start but he's not enough. The same way City have Aguero and Jesus (and had Aguero and Dzeko) or Madrid had Benzema and Higuain (and later on Benzema and Morata) United need another striker.

He'll probably end up in Munich though.

Just wait for the World Cup and see his value sky rocket because this guy is gonna light it up.

What the hell is up with Bayern fans and wanting to play him on the wing?! If that's where you want to play him then screw you guys, Werner should go to Dortmund. Not risking Bayern screwing up the endangered species that is a quality young German striker :D

Let Man United have Werner, we'll gladly take the crumbs falling off their table, i.e. Martial, thank you.
Why not both? We get Werner for about half of the sum Lewa's new employer(whoever that might be) is going to pay us, and straight-swap Martial for our Chilean Warrior:)
Another period of good business for us done.

I don't want him to play there, it's just that in principle he can do it should we end up in the unlikely position of having to accomodate both him and Lewandowski in the same team ;)

You can't always get all the german players! :D

Apart from joke, Lewandowski is still quite young so you don't really need Werner.
Lewandowski is turning 30 this year. Sure, he probably still has a few years, but in his case it's increasingly dubious that those years will be spent with us.

I like Werner, he's a very good player, but he's not good enough for Bayern. We need to shop one drawer above.

The game against St. Petersburg right now was going in favor of your statement, but then he just set up the 1-0 with an incredible heel flick :D

And then he fecked up the dead certain 2-0. Well...
