English speaking commentators in general are low energy. When someone scores they just say: "oh, its a goal".
American commentators are crap. English commentators are far better. I'm not bothered about what they say when a goal is scored as much as their overall matchplay commentary

I thought I misheard when he said that. Definitely heard something that sounded awfully like it.

It's not the greatest commentary. Something semi-quirky happens and you know Dixon has to start up his shite banter like making a joke about how England has never really had a good left back, nudge nudge wink wink, Graeme Le Saux.

Still not half as bad as the Geordie who always covers El Clasico. He's utter shite.
I rewound it a few times to make sure, 100% said “our”.

I like them, but they were definitely biased for Pool in yesterday's game.

FS1 commentators are awful.

I actually really like them. Arlo is really great, while Le Saux and Dixon aren’t bad either.

If you go back and watch the goal on the NBC Sports YouTube channel, you can hear he says "Mancunian" and not "Nigerian." But I do think he called Smalling a Liverpool player at one point.
Thanks, it was early on the west coast :-)

I’m shocked by some of the comments in here praising them. They are absolutely shite; Peter Drury & Jim Beglin are so much better it’s not even funny.

They were dismissive of Liverpool's penalty claims, rightly so imo. Was then surprised to come on here and see people saying that Sky made much more of a fuss about them.

I prefer this to the complete over-the-top reaction you hear on some foreign language streams that sounds completely false

In comparison they are a thousand times better then the fox sports and ESPN commentators. I actually watch the fox sports and ESPN games in Spanish if possible and if not available on mute over listening to the awful American commentators on fox sports. Oh and I can't understand anything in Spanish except goooaaaaaaal!

NBCSN does a great job covering the Premier League. This goes for their studio pundits and host along with their UK-based matchday commentary teams. OP talking his usual bollocks.

'tis a silly place
It's good coverage and the only thing is I wish Arlo White wouldn't talk quite so much over the play. Also Rebecca Low needs to slow the feck down when she's talking. Otherwise it's great. I don't even mind Kyle Martino

Honestly aside from Le Saux and Dixon I think the coverage is excellent. Those 2 are insufferable though, particularly Dixon.

They can't be that biased, they did try and give you that OG.

At that moment I thought to myself they've gone completely mental to give us that goal since it was our player who scored the goal

If they can offer Peter Drury a permanent job on the back of his work during the Winter Olympics that'd be nice.

Why is Kyle Martino commentating ? American accents ruin commentary.
They are doing their pundit swap this weekend. Lee Dixon and Graeme Le Saux in the studio with Rebecca Lowe. The usual 3 are out doing the commentary this weekend.

I see Le Seaux has been brought into the studio and Mustoe shunted out as a field commentator. Long may it continue.

I mean, I don't listen to commentary at all these days for the most part. But when I do, I can't stand guys like Martino and Lalas, who never played in a top league, champions league, etc., act like they've been there done that. The only reason anybody even knows who Lalas is, is because he was the long haired hippy that played on the '94 world cup squad when it was in the states. A team that had pretty much no accomplished players outside of say Tab Ramos and John Harkes, who played for Real Betis and Derby at the time, and Brad Friedel but before he moved his career to England and was the second choice keepter behind Meola.. But you have to sit there and listen to Lalas like he's some kind of soccer god, a guy who had a very brief stint with a bottom tier Seire A club, then found his level in the just starting out terrible level of the 90's MLS.

These guys are unwatchalbe on TV. As terrible as the level of MLS is, I still go to a lot of matches in Seattle, LA, Portland, all along the west coast, just because besides enjoying hating myself, MLS is a decent product to watch live, if not on TV. So I see these guys quite often in person as they are doing pre-game shows and whatnot from the stadiums and they are just as awful in person as they are on TV.

Keeping it simple for the audience which likely has a lot of people who didn't grew up watching football.

It's the same when watching a German NFL broadcast - often really obvious stuff is repeated that you'd never heard by an US commentator.

I thought Lalas played in Serie A. I hate him too much to confirm it though.

Lee Dixon's head seems to have got bigger.

He did, and he probably could've/would've stayed relatively long term but he was made one of the figureheads of the nascent MLS. Either way, no use for that guy. And he looks like the lead singer of The Spin Doctors.

I prefer nbc over sky and that’s from a uk fan. Sky’s coverage is horrible. All scouse pundits and the commentators are dross (all of them).
And I like arlo Dixon and Lee saux they all seem more relaxed. Only problem for me is the adverts but I get over that.

A lot of the streams I watch are from NBC, I think. I never listen to the commentary. I just watch with a set of headphones plugged in but don't wear them. I don't need some fecker telling me what I am watching. Should I take them to a restaurant to let them tell me what my food tastes like? I would love an option to turn the commentary off and just listen to the crowd.

When Fox Sports had the rights to games a couple years back, they had streams online that didn't have commentators. It was actually quite refreshing and let's you focus on the game more.

Don't know if they still do it but, they used to have a "Tactical Cam" footage. The camera was at the halfway line up in the stands and that was the stream you go.

Wheyy! You must have not had the displeasure of encountering a certain Lalas and the merry bunch over at Fox Sports. Feck me now that would make your ears bleed!
The worst around. Best bit was Lalas et al doing commentary and the subject about academy vs college was being argued by him and another analyst. Lalas was laughingly idiotic.

It was odd from start to finish tonight. The Hendo thing from Dixon was proper strange. Dunno if @GifLord can grab it but not in gif format?
