He's listing Mata as a player with uncertain future after the guy had already activated his extra year option 2 months ago !

Ogden is a joke as usual.

What a lot of tits, when have you ever see 10 players out that are squad players, its near impossible considering the wages most are on. Zlatan and Carrick are nailed on's, even at that I cant see another 8 going out.

From expectly 3 in 3 outs to 10 in outs thats something. Not so surprise but still that would be something if its true. No more excuse then next season for Jose. Boards seems side with manager this time.

He's not saying 10 ins AND 10 outs, he's saying that the total of ins and outs could be 10. Which isn't unthinkable at this point.

Also look at the names he's mentioning : Fred, Rose, Perisic, even fecking Varane again !

Ogden is just recycling the names he just knows. He's clueless.

Believe he means 10 players both in and out. So it could be 5 out and 5 in or any combination thereof.

Ogden is suggesting a possible ten combined ins/outs (four in and six out, apparently).

"United will listen to offers for Luke Shaw, Matteo Darmian, Daley Blind and Andreas Pereira, with Chris Smalling, Ander Herrera, Anthony Martial and Juan Mata"

That's 8, with Zlatan and Carrick its 10. That's how I read it.

Activating the clause doesn't mean he is staying. If we are getting rid, it means we will collect a fee rather than losing him on a free.

I hope Mata remains, mind.

Perisic?? that ship has long sailed he signed a new deal in the summer, hes not going anywhere. The rest is probably lies too excl the obvious ones like Carrick, Ibra etc

Well try not to ruin an otherwise interesting thread with 10 posts about Ogden being clueless.
As far as I'm concerned it has been only 2 posts. Don't exaggerate and I don't find anything interesting or new in the article let's be honest. He's recycling the names with doubt on them and names of players we have been linked with them loads of times previous years. What's interesting in this ?

The next summer is gonna be the World Cup summer, and the transfer window will be shut down by the beginning of the league according to what the clubs and Fa agreed on. That'll be pretty short to sell 10 players and get replacements.

The article doesn't make any sense at all.

10 is easy if you include Mourinho and his coaching staff.

Says in the article that he only wants about 4 to come in, 10 seems to be a bit of a drastic turn over although there's definitely some players that we have to get rid of. The only players Odgen mentions that I'd keep around for another year would be Martial and Herrera, I think Martial should be given one last chance to prove himself as he's clearly got talent and I really think Herrera is important to keep around until we've got enough quality options in midfield.

If the article is true we could lose from just midfield, Herrera, Fellaini, Carrick and Pereira with us only looking to bring Fred in, feel that'd leave us pretty shallow in the middle of the park and CM is a tricky position to buy for, reassuringly though it says we have no intention of selling Pogba; Mourinho seems to think he's still struggling with a hamstring problem which kept him out for the first few months of the season.

Only mention of an incoming full back seems to be Danny Rose, which would seem that our full back options for next season would be Rose/Young on the left and Valencia/Fosu-Mensah on the right. Again, would be happier if we went for a first team quality right back as I'm not sure TFM's long-term future will be at full back.

The only outgoing CB it mentions is Smalling, that'd leave us next season with; Bailly, Jones, Rojo, Lindelof and Tuanzebe (providing he doesn't go out on loan again) with Odgen saying, suprise suprise, that we're after Varane again but I can't imagine that'll ever happen.

Most important point from the article for me is that Mourinho believes we have plenty of talented young players in line after Rashford/McTominay but he doesn't believe some of the players in the sort of age range between 25-29 are good enough which is the sort of age we'll be looking at buying in the summer, couldn't agree more really that age range is easily the weakest area of the squad and makes up a lot of it unfortunately.

We've been trying to sign Varane since he was born.
We're also not signing Perisic.

Probably counting TFM and Axel coming back from loan as 2 of the 'ins'.

Can easily see the following going

Ibra, Carrick, Darmian, Shaw, Blind, Romero, Jones/Smalling (1 will stay), Pereira, Herrera

Ogden just said we missed out on Perisic last summer, he didn't say Mourinho will still try to sign him this summer.

If Mourinho stays (and I think he will) I fully expect a big clearout in the summer.
Should be expected and frankly would be malpractice if he didn't. We already know Ibra and Carrick are off so that's two spots that will likely be replenished. Valencia and Young are both 32 and Shaw is in the doghouse so its likely at least one or two more there.

Hard to take Ogden seriously. Since Moyes was sacked he is as reliable as Sun or mirror.

Fellaini isn't even mentioned. He is obviously out as well.

Van Gaal's 14/15 clear out was pretty huge, to be fair.

Of just the senior players; Rio Ferdinand, Nemanja Vidic, Alex Buttner, Patrice Evra, Danny Welbeck, Shinji Kagawa, Tom Cleverley, Nani, Javier Hernandez, Darren Fletcher, Wilfried Zaha, Anderson, Nick Powell and Michael Keane were all either released, sold or loaned out never to return (Hernandez came back briefly a year later, but was gone again).

You could go a bit deeper and even include guys like Bebe, Angelo Henriquez, Sam Johnstone (still out on loan, for the 100th time), Ben Amos, Will Keane, Tom Lawrence, and a good few more reserves who were axed that year.

Brutal clear out.

This one won't be as massive, but I think Mourinho will be quite ruthless, and I predict some fans will be upset.

Ahhh right got ya. Is Fellini not supposed to be out too?
I imagine so, unless we can persuade him otherwise. In truth, even if this piece is accurate and the club intend on shifting 6-7 players, the chances of actually being able to find new homes for that lot in a single window is probably fairly slim.

Can't see Romero going anywhere as the WC will be over.

Varane and Willian we wont get.

As for Rose, signing another sicknote Lb is not the solution.

The Perisic ship has long sailed.

Back to the drawing board.

Fred is the only one i take and looks more than only speculation and is easily gettable.

We will not have a mass clear out. And mass replacements.
The moment people know we are looking for mass replacements, every player will cost double. Everyone will play the hard ball. Negotiations will stall.

And then there is a problem that we will have to start from scratch if we do mass replacements with people needing time to gel, get used to PL etc.

It is easy for the press to keep saying this after Jose goes crazy on the players in a press conference. And with international break, the press have time to make up as many stories as they want.

And Varane lol. He has a contract till 2022. And he/his agent have already started giving out Man Utd leaks. So typical of a Real player, whenever they want a new deal, it is always us.

If that’s the 4 players we are signing and mourinho remains In charge, top 4 is the best we can expect again.

Perisic and Willian added to Matic and Sanchez. Would really be building for the future targeting these late 20's guys.
