Possible classes:

Excellent, 4/5 years for a beep.

Wish they would give more to go on, there is only so many times you can play the Witcher and heck I’m a terrible role model in it.

They've said themselves that it's going to make The Witcher 3 look tiny, so we could be waiting a while yet!

Doubt it will be out before 2020. wonder what type of PC i will need to run it at that point?

The whole theme screams Deus-Ex/System Shock. Prey last year did a decent job of updating that model, eager to see what CPR do with it.

I was actually thinking more Mass Effect in a big open world. You know, what Andromeda should have been.

That’ll be awesome but until then it looks like Anthem, Read dead redemption 2 and possibly Crackdown 3 will have to tide me till we get more info

Apparently Anthem is what the original creators of Mass Effect have been working on. Looks alright from what I’ve seen and if it’s anything like the standard of the first ME franchise I can’t wait.

Anthem is online. It's going to be tarnished with all the EA crap. I wouldn't hold your breath.

Supposedly they're going Multiplayer with this, which is really interesting. I think they're taking as long as possible to iron out every potential crease.

Mass Effect can't go out like that surely? No doubt it will be brought back for the money at some point but they need to put some heart and soul into it.

I generally do not like Open World games, most of the time it leads to very bland and samey game-play. Witcher 3 had the repetition but the world building and atmosphere were levels above any other open world game I have ever played.

Broke my heart playing Andromeda and how poor it was, absolute bollox compared to the first trilogy. Characters Lame, none of that sense of danger or urgency that you could lose team mates, just hurts inside. Although Multiplayer wasn’t too bad. That Avenger. Ooooft.

Hopefully the combat mechanic will be better than the Witcher 3's crappy floaty action.

https://www.reddit.com/r/cyberpunkgame/comments/86b0oi/hidden_message_during_todays_cdpr_conference/

Trailer at E3. I’ve seen rumours of a beta planned too.

Other information from the conference:
  • character creation and lack of predefined character confirmed

  • multiple classes/roles confirmed

  • they again made it clear that CP is not going to contain any microtransactions or other stuff like that, you pay for the game once and that's it

  • Cyberpunk is very technologically advanced and developed in such a way to be ready to take advantage out of future hardware/generations, but regarding next gen consoles, they can only speculate, since none of them were announced yet

  • regarding multiplayer, Adam stated that their first priority is to deliver great single player experience with amazing narrative, but at some point they might deliver some online features. For me it sounds like multiplayer won't be part of the game at release and will be added some time after.

  • also he added that as opposed to The Witcher, in Cyberpunk player will be able to move in three dimensions, I'm not sure what exactly he meant by that

Just want to see any gameplay trailer for this game. Want to know how it's going to work to get really overhyped. At the moment I'm waiting with confidence.

Excited about the character creation and classes.

Geralt was amazing but I prefer creating a character in big RPG games.

I’m guessing he meant more verticality. Without mods, Geralt would die from tripping on a log.
Yeah could be this - aren't vehicles confirmed in this, or have I made that up? That comment could also allude to travelling around in vehicles, both through and over the world.

Excited about the character creation and classes.

Yeah same. Being able to sculpt a character from scratch is much more fun and immersive.

The age old trade-off in RPG games of freedom and replayability vs an intimate emotional main story.

It’s not like you’re rigidly stuck to this, and of course you’d imagine a company like CDPR will get as close to achieving a perfect balance, but historically games of either ilk go this way.

I’m generally predeposed the preset characters; it just feels more tighter and the NPCs around them revolve more naturally. Still... I am excited to see the intricacies in actual gameplay with so many alternative classes and ways to shape a character.

I generally prefer a well-written, predefined character over a user created one. All of my favourite games are heavily character-driven in terms of storytelling, to an extent that's just not possible without a predefined character. It remains to be seen how deep the character creation will go. Whether it's more like the blank canvas of Elder Scrolls games or limited to class and appearance like Mass Effect, where the character's personality still shines through. Given CD Projekt Red's ability to write great characters and form a tight narrative around them, I'd be disappointed with the former. I guess we'll find out at E3.

It's been over 2077 days since we announced our plan to develop Cyberpunk 2077. We released a CGI trailer, gave some interviews and... went dark. Normal procedure for these kinds of things - you announce a game and then shut up, roll up your sleeves, and go to work. We wanted to give you The Witcher 3 and both expansions first, which is why this period of staying silent was longer than we planned. Sorry for that.

As soon as we concluded work on Blood and Wine we were able to go full speed ahead with CP2077's pre-production. But we chose to remain silent. Why? At some point, we made a decision to resume talking about the game only when we have something to show. Something meaningful and substantial. This is because we do realise [sic] you've been (im)patiently waiting for a very long time, and we wouldn't want anyone to feel that we're taking this for granted. On the contrary - it gives us a lot of extra motivation. The hype is real, so the sweat and tears need to be real, too :).

But to the point. Today is the day. If you're seeing this, it means you saw the trailer - our vision of Cyberpunk, an alternative version of the future where America is in pieces, megacorporations control all aspects of civilised [sic] life, and gangs rule the rest. And, while this world is full of adrenaline, don't let the car chases and guns mislead you. Cyberpunk 2077 is a true single player, story-driven RPG. You'll be able to create your own character and..., well, you'll get to know the rest from what we show at our booth at E3. Be on the lookout for previews!

Before we finish, you probably have some questions, right?

  1. When? When we told you we would only release the game when it's ready, we meant it. We're definitely much, much closer to a release date than we were back then :), but it's still not the time to confirm anything, so patience is still required. Quality is the only thing that drives us - it's the beauty of being an independent studio and your own publisher.

  2. How big? Seriously big, but..., to be honest, we have no bloody clue at this point in time. Once we put it all together, we will openly tell you what you can expect. And we promise we'll do this before we start talking about any pre-orders or ask anything of you.

  3. Free DLC/Expansions/DRM? Expect nothing less than you got with The Witcher 3. As for DRM, CP2077 will be 100% DRM-free on PC.

  4. Microtransactions? In a single player role-playing game? Are you nuts?
Once again, thank you for your patience. If you have a minute, do visit cyberpunk.net and share your opinion (about anything) with us. We read everything you post and we treat it very seriously.

Yours, CD PROJEKT RED Team

I'm excited for this, but I'm honestly not expecting it to be TW3 good. I think they set the bar way too high there, I still expecting it to be an awesome RPG experience. They are saying all the right things again.

Brilliant. Sounds like it’s still long way from being ready so 2021, maybe 2022 is best bet but they are saying all the right things there.

I mean come on. 2022? There is no way they'd be showing anything at E3 if it was FOUR years away. They announced it six years ago.

I expect next year.

Not a chance next year IMO. There are people on Polish forum who know people from CD Projekt and apparently they are targeting 2020 now but don't completely exclude the possibility of having a delay like they had with Witcher 3. They want to release a finished product.

2020 is still okay I think. But 2022 would be insane. They don't want it to become a Duke Nukem Forever.

Duke Nukem Forever was announced in 1997 and released in 2011 so that's not going to happen here. We know they're still working on it and making progress, that's a lot more than what fans of Duke Nukem got in the 10 years after its announcement.

Love CD Project Red. Microtransaction? In a single game, are you nuts?

A company who started from nothing, got the love, money and the trus of fans by making a decent, a very good and an all time great game, and who does and says the right things. If there is a game that I'll preorder before the reviews come, it is this game.

It took them three games to "perfect" The Witcher's combat (and I say that lightly because it was far from perfect and arguably the weakest aspect of the game), and assuming the combat in this is very different, I'm not overly convinced they'll get it right.

I'm sure the game will be awesome though.

Yeah, encouraging quotes from CDPR.

Massive Spanner makes a good point. The games almost certain to be real good, but until we say gameplay trailers I don't think we can assume real real good.
