Lee Martin Scores , Sir Alex legacy begins
Lets say the follow happens in the summer.

Outgoings.

A) The fax machine is working a 100 million pound offer comes in and David decides he wants out and is of to the other Madrid club.
B) Daily Blind and Darmian get sold for 20 million pounds for both.
C) Zlatan is of to the MLS.
D) Carrick is helping JM become more defensive.
E) Fellaini decides after all the abuse he gets on Redcafe to move to China.

Incomings

A) Sam Johnson comes in and wants to see with David gone if he can make it at United.
B) Pereira at long last gets his chance.
C) Timothy after having a successful loan spell at Crystal Palace stays for the season.

Purchases

A) Sessegon gets brought for 30 million pounds
B) Mateo Kovacic gets brought for 50 million pounds.

So with the outgoings and incomings there is still 40 million left over and another 100 million from the Man United kitty.

If this was to happen would a squad that looks like this be able to challenge for the top prizes.

GK - Romero, Johnson and Pereira
RB - Valencia, Young, and Fosu-Mensah
CB- Smalling, Jones, Rojo, Lindelof, and Bailly
LB - Sessegon and Shaw
CM - Herrera, Pogba, Matic, Kovacic, Pereira and McTominay
AM - Mata, Lingard, and Sanchez
SF - Rashford, Martial and Lukaku

And there is still 140 million to spend if needed, if needed who would come in.

The only reason I am really scared for De Gea is the fact Romero stayed during the January transfer window, despite really needing regular game time in a WC year. Maybe he has been promised the number 1 spot next season. :nervous:

Other than that, I rate this thread an 8/10 in the WUM department.

Great idea but won't happen Utd will want an mark signing, thus again spending a fortune on mediocrity or some name that will sell shirts. Just to let the world know we are a real big club and have got the cash to splash. :D

I'd also like to see someone who can actually play on the right wing, being given a chance to play there, but I feel that might require a change in management - lets not go there, it'll only stink out the thread.

Please don't let Real foist Bale & Ronaldo on us. They would both cost a fortune, have their best days behind them, & would probably destabilise the team. One is injury prone, & the other wants everything done through him, even though he was one of the best players ever at this club. His time has now past.

I don't think we need big names. We need good players for certain positions. For instance Toby Alderweireld would be a very sensible buy for next season.

I think there is better chance of RM offering 200m for Kane + Eriksen + Poch than 100m for DDG. These 3 solve all their attacking problem, getting DDG won't.

What year is this, 2003? Kane and Eriksen would command a total of at least 300M in today’s market. Furthermore, Eriksen isn’t good or exclusive enough for Real Madrid.

I won't argue on the no. that was meant to be a joke (or Barca thought it was a joke on Neymar's contract). Eriksen was the main reason on why Spurs beat Chelsea. Had we spent 90m on Eriksen instead of Pogba, we won't be arguing on how to get the best out of Pogba. Eriksen isn't going to take on 3 defenders but his passing is one of the best in EPL at the moment, and he can score wonder goals as well, and being very consistent. If Barca thinks Courtinho is good enough for them then so should Eriksen.
