Liverpool to lose. I don't care about City, they are (still) insignificant, small club, in my mind.

Liverpool out.

Although I feel its an immaterial discussion anyway. Barca should prove too much for either of them.

Can't think of any result that I would be happy with. The fact that one of them is going to go through is sickening. Liverpool to win, so Pep might rest players on Saturday. Lots of straight red cards with three match bans, some won't leave the pitch so make it four match bans. I don't want to wish injury on people, but a few muscle pulls.

I want Liverpool to lose too. There’s big part of me that wants them to get fecking destroyed. But I also want City to need to field their strongest possible team in the second leg. I’m conflicted.
Yeah a close result tonight and then city hammering them in the second leg with their best team is ideal.

Lads, for this game and only this game it’s ok to want livershite to win. Honestly, i’m doing it as well.

1) It’s against shitty.
2) Think about this. If liverpool win tonight city, we’ll have a better chance of winning on Saturday. This is because city will have a lot of tired legs after a wednesday night game and will be resting players and/or not play with such a high tempo for a game on Saturday which is basically meaningless to them apart from the obvious fact that they could win the league against United. Pep isn’t stupid though and will not be going full throw the kitchen sink mode even if they are struggling to break through us on Saturday as he will regard the tuesday game just 3 days later where he will have to score a couple of goals against a decent team as much more important.

As for my prediction, I’m going 2-2 as the two teams will attack but attack with caution, especially city. I want a 4-2 livershite win though, just because it will really help us.

City win for sure. While I think Liverpool have less chance of progressing further after this tie, I just can't stand the thought of the bragging about reaching the semi finals from the scousers and beating 'the mighty City'.

I honestly don't care. I know people are worried about Liverpool potentially winning the trophy but it's not going to happen. Even if they made it past City, they are never going to beat two more top clubs in the mold of Real Madrid, Barcelona or Bayern. City could, which is why I can't exactly shout from the roof top that I would prefer them going through.

I want neither of them to win the whole thing. Liverpool going through here poses much less of a danger of either winning the CL.

Liverpool to win today, so City are much more focused on the return game then on the game against us. City to go through.

Barca to win, dont want Roma to progress and get slaughtered by the big boys.

For the other unimportant game, City to win

I want Liverpool to go through, because I don't think they'll win the competition, and I think if City go through they'll have a decent chance of winning the competition. And I want them to look back on this, "the most amazing City team ever!!111" and realise that they only won the league, nothing else.

Liverpool win by two clear goals, a big enough cushion that they should be able to progress overall but narrow enough to make City think they can overturn it in the second leg thus playing a weakened side against us

Liverpool to go through, as they'd be knocked out in the semis while City could go all the way.

None of you bothered by the potential of a City UCL win and a treble?

City, of course.

It's unthinkable to cheer for those others.

A similar game to the Anfield game would be nice, high scoring game where everyone thinks Liverpool are the best thing since sliced bread, only to capitulate in 10 minutes.

3-3 would do nicely.

I won't be supporting any team, I'm hoping for chaos so I can laugh at both of them. The worst thing would be a clean win for either team.

Support is too strong of a word, but hope it's a tiring draw for both sides with City winning next week.

Most important thing is that the tie isn't effectively over as it is with Real-Juve.

Until City have almost as many League Titles and European Cups as us, the answer in City vs. Liverpool should be met with a response of City win 99% of the time. The only exception would be if Liverpool beating City would result in us winning the title or qualifying for Europe.

For me, and I suspect most other United fans, the level of rivalry with City is not comparable to that of Liverpool yet.

Liverpool to lose. City are already having an astounding season, getting to the next stage of the champions league won't make that much difference to that. A semi-final berth for Liverpool is much more significant, and we don't want that lot gaining momentum. Hope they get brought crashing down to earth.

Liverpool loss. But definitely not a thrashing as the City hype and confidence will be even greater.

Really? I don’t share that confidence. It’s based on almost zero evidence.
Believe, just belive.

Either way, the very theoretical idea that Liverpool could be within a whisker of a CL final is FAR worse than City actually winning it. Let's get them knocked out as soon as possible to kill that horrible scenario.

Yup. I’m with you there.

Like I said, I think I want it close so City rest players at the weekend but I’m genuinely torn. I might be up for dropped points at the weekend if it meant I got to watch Liverpool get dicked on.
