After months of recovery, Maxwell turned down that offer with just months left on his contract and told Ajax "Either you release me from my 6 months of contract so I can move for free to Inter now, or you pay me for another 6 months and I leave for free then anyway"

He also did something similar with Grygera, taking him out the backdoor to Juve. After which he was banned from the club until Martin Jol brought him back in. Since then he's been taking our top talents out the backdoor again (Bouy, Kishna, Tete, now probably Kluivert)

It wasn't Raiola on his own. It was a plan together with the Juve director, Moggi.

From Moggi's book:

"“Ajax did not want to let Ibra leave, so I admit I was not politically correct, but I suggested Ibrahimovic start a war with van der Vaart. If a player asked me to leave I always did so even if it made team weaker. I did so with Christian Vieri in 1997."

Seeing as Ajax didn't want the deal, I can't imagine Moggi instructured that to Zlatan directly, seeing as they wouldn't be allowed to speak. So who would have instructed Zlatan exactly?

We have the Juventus director at the time saying he instructed Zlatan to start a war with van der vaart to force his exit

the only part missing is Zlatan admitting he did the tackle intentionally, but he'd never admit to that. it's implied by Moggi's words though

But I do believe that when he acts, it's to fulfill his clients wishes and not just to line his own purse. I'm sure he feels he's justified in his own mind as he's doing his best for his employers. And as long as clubs are happy to deal with him when they're the ones getting a player, then he'll keep being able to do what he does.

Well, it was more out of desparation then appreciation, really. Donetzk didn't want to let him go, just like they do with many players. It is really hard making business with them. If I remember correctly, the board of Donetzk is affiliated with politics and has much influence even outside of football affairs. I think some of them are even sentenced with crimes like bribery, blackmailing etc. But this is just me speaking out of my memory. However, its more or less save to say that those are no nice people you had to deal with and it keeps many players from leaving such clubs.

But Dortmund regretted their decision later on. Mkhitaryan has destroyed much of his reputation with the BVB through the way he behaved when he went to your club. It was a rather cold good bye and I remember Watzke, Tuchel and some others being really disappointed with him. Remember that Watzke kind of defended Götze, Hummels and Lewandowski when they went to Bayern against the abuse of their own supporters. Wasn't really the case with Mkhitaryan.

Raiola is a double-edged sword. You can use him as long as your interests align with those of the player. But once they depart, it can get ugly pretty quickly.
