Surely it's time for this

FWIW I would hope we don't sign more of his players or players with similar ego maniac agents that are quite obviously bad news. I'd also hope to see players at United that have hired this bastard to drop him.

Yup.

Mendes isn’t great, but he seems to have some grasp of the concept of loyalty. This one is just a cynical cnut.

Not all of them are slimy cnuts like Raiola though. There is a way to do it without acting like a thug.
I actually think hes one of the best agents in football, looks after his players well.

Well his clients seem to hold him in high regard and that should be the only thing that matters to him.
he makes eye watering amounts of money through them, of course he has their back. He thinks he is a celebrity, doesn't mean the world has to like him. And it doesnt

He's amazing when he's on your side. You want to kill him when he's not.
Don't see the problem here.

Have you heard of Mino Raiola?
He is a football agent. From experience we know this isn't an honourable profession. Especialy not when it's an Italian. Italians: the people of dirty money, bribery, and corruption. Ruined a whole league, the Serie A.
Mino Raiola, an old 'pizza baker' from Haarlem, an agent now, as I said, who has at this point made more euros than he has braincells.
This Mino Raiola, who ten years ago nobody had heard of. Such a fat head it doesn't even fit in his own pizza oven. He calls Cruijff, Johan Cruijff, a demented dickhead.
One of his pupils, of that fathead, is Ibrahimovic. Comes from the same cave. He previously called Cruijff, also in his book, a 'halve zool' (crazy/idiot)
Mino Raiola, a name you can forget about from now on. an unimportant man.

He's absolutely a cnut, but this is not exactly news, now is it? The fact that you have to deal with him is just the price you pay if you want his players.

The sooner football is rid of these leeches, the better. Kia Joorabchian is another from the same boat.

Sadly, the sport is becoming influenced more and more by these twats.

Unfortunately, as Ajax, we've had the misfortune of being his cnutiness training field. He started with us, taking our players to Italy in the 90s. Then came back in the early 2000s

The squad of Ibrahimovic, Van der Vaart, Maxwell, Grygera was dismantled by him

He had Zlatan intentionally injure Van der Vaart in a Sweden - Netherlands friendly, to force a cut-rate sale of Ibra right before the end of the summer transfer window, because they had to choose between him and Van der Vaart. Van der Vaart who actually lost a bit of pace around then, can't remember if it was that injury or another though. Never recovered form for us and went out the backdoor.

When Ajax were about to sell Maxwell, managed by Raiola, to an Italian club, he tore . his knee. Seeing the deal to sell Maxwell for millions collapse, Ajax instead helped him recover, paying his salary. They then offered him a new contract while he was recovering recovered, to show good faith or something. After months of recovery, Maxwell turned down that offer with just months left on his contract and told Ajax "Either you release me from my 6 months of contract so I can move for free to Inter now, or you pay me for another 6 months and I leave for free then anyway"

He also did something similar with Grygera, taking him out the backdoor to Juve. After which he was banned from the club until Martin Jol brought him back in. Since then he's been taking our top talents out the backdoor again (Bouy, Kishna, Tete, now probably Kluivert)

You actually believe that?

It wasn't Raiola on his own. It was a plan together with the Juve director, Moggi.

From Moggi's book:

"“Ajax did not want to let Ibra leave, so I admit I was not politically correct, but I suggested Ibrahimovic start a war with van der Vaart. If a player asked me to leave I always did so even if it made team weaker. I did so with Christian Vieri in 1997."

Seeing as Ajax didn't want the deal, I can't imagine Moggi instructured that to Zlatan directly, seeing as they wouldn't be allowed to speak. So who would have instructed Zlatan exactly?

Here's the tackle on Van der Vaart, who in that interview makes it clear that to this day he believes it was intentional:

The voice over on that video says: "Ibrahimovic shows his darkest side when he follows through dirtily, injuring Van der Vaart on purpose" The interviewer asks him "You have the strong impression he did this on purpose? Yes." and then goes on to explain that they never got on

Zlatan obviously denies that but says

"Eventually I used the situation to force my transfer to Juventus. I really wanted it and Ajax weren't keen. I used the fight to force my departure".

We shouldn't be surprised. The club knew who they were getting into bed with. Lie down with dogs etc etc...

@Ajaxsuarez I think sometimes Zlatan is a dirty player and him and Van Der Vaart did not seem to get on even before that. Him injuring Van Der Vaart because Raiola told him seems far fetched. Did he also tell him to elbow Tyrone Mings last season?

We literally have Zlatan telling us that he used that fight the tackle started to force his transfer to Juventus
We have the Juventus director at the time saying he instructed Zlatan to start a war with van der vaart to force his exit

the only part missing is Zlatan admitting he did the tackle intentionally, but he'd never admit to that. it's implied by Moggi's words though

I guess you could see it that way. he's just a bit of a comical character tbh
Ah ok, it was meant in a humorous way? I was just going by the translation.

Regarding Raiola, I think he's the guy who will stoop to any means to get his clients what they want. But I do believe that when he acts, it's to fulfill his clients wishes and not just to line his own purse. I'm sure he feels he's justified in his own mind as he's doing his best for his employers. And as long as clubs are happy to deal with him when they're the ones getting a player, then he'll keep being able to do what he does.

no, he was being serious. but he was being theatrical, if that makes sense?

The translation is blunter than the Dutch actually was, though says the same words pretty much.

It shows the state of football today that a vile cnut like Raiola earns more money than most of the best managers around, i.e. than those who develop further the game. He's a useless money-grabbing twat.
Well managers usually have agents as well.

I remember right before Cruijff’s revolution and FdB taking over in 2010, he was pretty much running your club.

He and his buddy Martin Jol were having a field day, Ajax had like what, 90 contract players? All of his players were a very heavy financial burden, most of them obviously shite players too. Atouba?

At one point Raiola even moved a certain Kerlon (the seal dribble guy) to you guys, though I actually think he denies this nowadays. Absolute cretin this guy

Haha not 90(!), no. You're right though. he was persona non grata at Ajax after his mid-2000s tricks at Ajax. Then Jol came in with his agent, Raiola, and in one summer we brought in the knee-less seal Kerlon, a 50 year-old Kuffour, the clown Atouba, old man Tainio, and last but least, Ze Eduardo aka money laundering: the footballer

https://www.transfermarkt.com/ze-eduardo/profil/spieler/70203

literally that kid didn't exist before he joined our reserves. look at that list of loans every year!

the club we loaned him from doesn't even really exist:
https://www.transfermarkt.com/assoc...ube-sc-/transfers/verein/22149/saison_id/2009
It was founded in 2009, loses every match in its history, and plays with goalkeepers as outfield players, or maybe outfield players as goalkeepers I'm not sure.
Yet they have two players under contract (the only two?), who are signed to Raiola: Ze eduardo and Felipe Mattioni, who also makes a 500k-2m loan dal every year, and even signed with everton for a bit https://www.transfermarkt.com/felipe-mattioni/profil/spieler/52432

Nothing to see here, Pogba wouldn’t have moved to City even if it was actually true that Raiola had made contact with City.

@Zehner pointed out on another thread Dortmund basically hired Mkhitaryan so they can get him out of Donetzk. And this summer PSG had Verratti fires his agent and hire Raiola because they were sick of Verrtti's previous agent. So clubs still prefer to work with him over others.

We knew what we was getting, he was a god like figure when he was forcing through Pogbas transfer to United. Now the shoes on the other foot and we don't like it, swings and roundabouts.

Mkhitaryan and Zlatan gone, only Romero and Pogba left. I think Romero will leave in summer to get first team football, Pogba I'm not sure about anymore.

Well, it was more out of desparation then appreciation, really. Donetzk didn't want to let him go, just like they do with many players. It is really hard making business with them. If I remember correctly, the board of Donetzk is affiliated with politics and has much influence even outside of football affairs. I think some of them are even sentenced with crimes like bribery, blackmailing etc. But this is just me speaking out of my memory. However, its more or less save to say that those are no nice people you had to deal with and it keeps many players from leaving such clubs.

But Dortmund regretted their decision later on. Mkhitaryan has destroyed much of his reputation with the BVB through the way he behaved when he went to your club. It was a rather cold good bye and I remember Watzke, Tuchel and some others being really disappointed with him. Remember that Watzke kind of defended Götze, Hummels and Lewandowski when they went to Bayern against the abuse of their own supporters. Wasn't really the case with Mkhitaryan.

Raiola is a double-edged sword. You can use him as long as your interests align with those of the player. But once they depart, it can get ugly pretty quickly.

He's the most ruthless agent in football. I'm sure he'll have more superstars in his stable soon that we'll all be jizzing over
