Think thay trumps Juanfield as our best game since SAF retired. Everything about the win is beyond my belief. We had City fans crying. Souness and Bellamy looked distraught. Best win since Moscow 2008?

Juanfield had sexier goals and Stevie G making a 90 second appearance. Plus it's Liverpool.

Today is definitely up there though.

Surely would've been if it was a cup final or a title deciding match!

Kompany celebrating when he scored was making me physically sick. To see him close to tears at 3-2 was joyful. Beats that Gerrard cameo.

Not just that. Jesus losing it completely. The missed penalties. The insane comeback. Pogbas show after yesterday. The final 6 minutes where nothing happened. It was a hollywood script.

This is the best game since the Crystal Palace game. We have had some great games under Mourinho, but a lot of negative nancies prefer games where we win 4-0 without breaking a sweat.

Don't agree on it being our best game since 2008 at all but it's definitely one of our top 5 best games since SAF left. The other 4 are :

Juanfield
4-2 against City
3-2 Palace
Europe League final

Not in any order.

In terms of derbies, this is the best feeling I've had since RvP scored that FK winner against them, closely followed by the Rooney overhead kick and then Michael Fecking Owen shutting them up the summer they spent squillions - a free signing  there was just a beautiful poetry in that.

How many teams have we beaten in their prime? All the above were either shit teams or good teams not at their best. This was a prime City at home where they have dropped 2 points all seaaon.

Not disagreeing on this. I was just disagreeing with it being our best game since 2008. Sure we had several other great games in 2009,2010 and SAF last season that meant more. Post SAF, completely legit to say it's our best game since then.

Juanfield and the 4-2 derby were very good, which made up 2 games of the much famed 3 game run (the other being the 3-0 drubbing of Spurs, which saw Townsend getting subbed off after 30 minutes because their right flank was getting bent over) when Blind, Fellaini and Young made up the most devastating left sided triumvirate in the history of football.

This just seems to top it all though. The Pogba media debacle yesterday, and he's the one who hauls us back in to the game, charging towards the fans etc... it just had to be him. Right after Kompany scored a mirror image of his goal from 2012 and celebrated like he knew they'd already won.

It had the cowardly shittiness of the 2012 1-0 loss in the first half, mixed with the euphoria of the 2-3 RVP stoppage time FK winner, all rolled in to one, with the addition of Pogba sticking two fingers up to the world.

The pundits have been calling them the best English team ever, and us and Liverpool have made them look foolish in the space 4 days. Don't care that they're going to win the league. We delayed it and we pissed on their once in a lifetime opportunity to wrap it up against their most hated rival.

Owen, RVP's winning goal, Scholes's winning header in stoppage time, Rooney's winning goal in the league cup.. We had plenty of comebacks and stoppage time winners against them

Juanfield was a better performance as we were just so dominant that day and one of the most comprehensive big match displays I've seen from United even dating back to Fergie days.

For sheer entertainment and saltiness factor I think today tops it for sure.. it was such an important game especially after what happened in that first half and the whole Pep and Pogba saga and Pogba being the villain turned hero made this iconic. It was one of the best football scripts I've had the pleasure to witness.

Chelsea last season was good. Brilliant performance against the runaway leaders.

Agree with that and to make this even better the game was sandwiched between City's humiliation on the biggest stage by a team who sits two places below them in the PL, after being labeled as the best team in English history.

Reminds me of Arsenal's "invincibles" ... getting stuffed by Chelsea in the CL and us in the FA cup.

Couldn’t watch it with sound because I was at work... but seeing how angry the mcfc players were was satisfying. Gabriel Jesus, Fernandinho and kompany.... saw how mad they were getting... very satisfying

Arsenal was awesome to watch even if we were defending a lot. It was crazy. So probably that game.

Great game in itself but it's a shame it doesn't change much.

Not sure if I enjoyed this game against City or the 4-2 win during Van Gaal's purple patch. Both were nice comebacks but this one was really unexpected.

I thought the Crystal Palace game a few weeks ago was our most exciting.
The MCFC game was special because it was against the best team in the league.

I can see the argument for both, but I preferred the CP game as it was the first time in a long time when we were coming back to win a game from 2-0 down.

In the last few weeks, we have become a team which refuses to lose. Even when the opponent has a 2-0 lead at half time, I now fully expect us to win the game.
Some people prefer the methodical, patient style of MCFC, but personally, I prefer the "give our opponent a 2-0 lead, let them get excited, then beat them, leaving their fans crying in the stands" ;)

I still think Juanfield was better. Beating Pool away always trump's beating City away, and we are usually notoriously shite at Anfield.

We've had some very good days under Jose. Beating Chelsea at home last year, Pool this year and now this. Not to mention winning the Europa.

It was pretty bloody good.

Not had that feeling of satisfaction in so long. Not much at all beats a comeback, if we'd have done it in the last minute that would've been perfect but it was as near as anyway.

Felt a bit like the 3-2 in SAF's last year albeit the first four goals were swapped around.

How is that even close to being our best win since Moscow? That’s not even in the top 10. We’ve won 3 league titles, an FA cup and a Europe League since then, had 2 CL campaigns which resulted in us playing in the final.

Sorry, but do you understand how small time that sounds? It’s Man City...
Our previous 3-2 win there was better. We weren’t outplayed, scored and winning goal in extra time and most importantly it shufted the balance of power to our side and gave us a lead in the first place.

How often do we beat a team thats significantly better than us?

And they happen to be the run away leaders...

It was a good win, and we’ve shown great attitude which is a good sign.
Let’s move on now and not treat this game as our cup final, that what they used to do.
I’m really happy we pissed on their party and more importantly didn’t give them the pleasure of winning it against us, but let’s move on.

The Pogba/Raiola/Pep media storm before the game just added an extra touch to the match. To have Pogba kickstart United's comeback was amazing to watch.

We literally won yesterday. If we cant enjoy a win, then whats the point? And it was almost a Cup final - for them at least.
