Shame. I was thinking how he reminded me of a young skinny eriksen at Ajax
Didn't we used to have a talented Norwegian kid in our academy too? Can't recall what his name was and I'm more curious to what he's up to now. I remember his highlight reels was very impressive ..

How is this lad doing now?
He was decent the few times I saw him this season. Was playing a bit deeper and more involved in the build-up play so his attacking returns have been limited. Passing and dribbling has been good. Plus always looks silky and smooth and in control.

Think he's a Pogba lite in the sense that because of the crazy hype people only will judge them on goals/assists, which is a shame.

Dæhli has been struggling with injuries for a while now. Shame because he's clearly talented. Only just turned 23 mind you so he could still have a good career if he somehow can stay fit.

Are you talking about Mats Møller Dæhli?

Yes that's the lad. Cheers!

Shame to hear that. Had high hopes for the kid. Was quite surprised when I heard that we sold him and was hoping that we had a buy back clause for him.

It's not too late for Ødegaard, but he is only getting older and his performances are very average. I feel he's the kind of player that we will say is forever "developing", without actually being much in the end. A bit like all the other decent Norwegian players, they're just too comfortable to actually fear the prospect of not making it. He was like the top talent in the world three years ago due to his age, now he's hardly in the top 100.

And let the hypee continue!!!!
Still dont think he's gonna make it at a top club. Probably go the same route as Canales and end at a mid table club when he's older.

I recently read an article saying that Madrid are quite disappointed by the fact that he has chosen the Dutch league, apparently influenced by his father, to be closer to Norway.
The club considers that there is little competition and it will not mean an improvement

I was seriously puzzled about that choice in the summer. I thought after his stint in Heerenveen, which gave him a first full season of top flight football outside of Norway, a loan to a PD club would have been the logical next step. Interesting to hear the decision might have been down to him/his father, not Real.

Almost 20 years old and hasn't really done anything yet.
Yes he has. He got lots and lots and lots of money that no 17 year old and his dad could ever dream of. He can retire at 20 back home in the old country. That's pretty ambitious and impressive to me.

Come on now. He might have made millions but if he's going back to Norway that'll last him about half a year. ;)

Is it just me or is that goalie way too far across for the freekick?

I think he will make it. Still very young and raw.
What do you mean by "make it" @Acquire Me? I think he'll likely end up a decent player, maybe Januzaj's level.

In the same league, at the same age, Memphis Depay scored 22 goals in 30 games, is Ødegaard capable of producing anything like that sort of form this season?
