He's a top manager and he has major ambitions. I.e. he's not a yes-man who is merely happy to be here. He wants to win.
He keeps banging on about the mentality of our team, and I assume he does so as well behind closed doors. One might disapprove of his methods, tactics or demeanour but he has identified what I think is the most prominent problem we have.

I like that he takes shit from noone. If you go at him he'll come back at you ten times worse.
Under Moyes and Van Gaal I felt we were bullied sometimes, and we lost respect and a bit of presence on and off the field because of it.

He has clearly helped influence the signing of quality players predominantly in their prime.
Moyes could only sign Fellaini who shouldn't be in the same sentence as quality. LVG signed a few past it big names, a few whatevers and I'm struggling to think of anyone of greatness. Don't think there is anyone in first team courtesy of LVG, which is damning only 2 years after he left and he had 2 years to buy players.
That said we do have the best backup keeper in Romero. Martial was a LVG signing although id be surprised if he had anything to do with it and as it stands Martial is a sub! Herrera I think was also arranged before LVG and arguably was before Moyes as well, just a timing thing.
Blind is a good backup, Darmian is so so. Rojo was meh before Jose and was good till injured. Shaw wasn't really LVGs signing and hasn't worked either way.

Warmth isn't something I'd really ascribe to Mourinho.
