Chelsea Football Club (also known as The Blues and The Pensioners) are a professional football club based in Fulham, London. Chelsea were founded on 10 March 1905 at The Rising Sun pub (now The Butcher's Hook) after Gus Mears had previously acquired the Stamford Bridge athletics stadium with the aim of turning it into a football ground. Since there was already a team named Fulham in the borough, the name of the adjacent borough, the Metropolitan Borough of Chelsea, was settled on.

Chelsea's first major title success came in the form of the League Cup with the appointment of former Arsenal player, Ted Drake, who also led Chelsea to the their first ever League title, enabling them to compete in the European Cup, but after objections from The Football League and the FA, Chelsea were persuaded to withdraw from the competition before it started - allowing Matt Busby's Manchester United to start their illustrious adventure with the competition.

After decades of being non-competitors, Chelsea returned to the domestic title fore in 2003 under new owner Roman Abramovich, who fueled an unprecedented spending spree - starting in the mid 2000s. Since the takeover, Chelsea have won 1 Champions League title, 5 Premier League titles, 4 FA Cup titles, 1 Europa League title, and 3 League Cup titles, among others. Chelsea's most prominent rivalries include local clubs Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, title rivals Manchester United, Liverpool and Leeds United. Chelsea play their home games at Stamford Bridge - which had been their home for over a century.

We've lost our last three FA Cup ties vs Chelsea (2007 final, 2013 & 2017 quarter-finals). Need to put that record right.

    De Gea

    Valencia Bailly Smalling Young

    Matic
    Fellaini Pogba

    Lingard Rashford Sanchez

Think that's the team. Will be pleasantly surprised if Lukaku is fit for it.

Chelsea will probably show up, the heartless mercenaries. Think big Rom will be ready, hopefully beat it and end this this season. It's being a tedious few weeks and much uncertainty. The FA cup won't be much of a consultation if the bin dippers win the week after. Let's hope it's a good few weeks and we buy well in the window.

We're absolutely nothing special. But we're a better side than Chelsea, they look a shambles.

    Have to beat them

They are going to try to vent all their frustrations out on us by upping their game, so we might as well be on our guard. No fannying about in the first half like a pub team, for once begin with intent from the get-go.

Mourinho loves winning a final. From what I remember Conte has never won a cup. We've got a good chance to make this season quite good.

Chelsea did play well against us in the away game and the first half of the home game so this won't be easy. I predict it'll be like our Europa final, pure defensive and efficient football. 2-0.

I see it being a proper dryout of a game. We'll nick the win by being slightly less crap than Chelsea, but we'll have about 2-3 shots on target the entire game. We'll score first, Lingard; they'll equalise just after half-time and we'll win it with a goal in the last few minutes from Sanchez.

He's not played a minute in the competition so far this season. Would be incredibly harsh to drop Willy now.
Conte has got to be thinking about his own résumé now though surely? Not what he owes players he won't be managing next season

Gutted I can't watch this live. We're having my mother's life celebration party so I'll be entertaining about 80 guests and not one of them watches football. :(

Utd should win this, Chelsea are not very good and have some rather obvious weaknesses to attack at CB. A fit Lukaku gives Christiansen a very hard time, just lacks the experience to cope, while Cahill and Rudiger are good but far from outstanding.

Leaving Moses as the out ball and swarming Hazard and Willain worked in the league game, could see it happening again, Moses is a definite weak link.More pressure on Chelsea as well I would say, they have had a terrible season.

I'm always wary of facing teams coming off the back of heavy defeats. We will have to play the perfect game to get the win. The key for us is to press Chelsea's 3 defenders and attack them. We need to take the game to them, try to dominate the midfield and press aggressively when we lose the ball. They have some dodgy defenders and weak midfield that we must exploit. My team:

    DDG
    Valencia Bailly Smalling Young
    Carrick
    Herrera. Pogba
    Lingard
    Sanchez Lukaku

These last 5 years has made me appreciate being in cup finals and winning these trophies, even if they are now deemed second rate trophies.
