Would the mods ever consider having a positive and a negative Match Day thread?

We're gonna do them 3-1. Sanchez, Lingard & Rashford to score for United and Giroud for Chelsea.

    You saw it here first.

For some reason I don't feel confident at all. Chelsea despite all their struggles remain a very dangerous team with proven matchwinners. We cannot underestimate this. They might have had a poor result last match but it's not like we're entering the game with momentum either. Our last top game was vs Spurs almost 1 month ago. Since then we limped home in the PL and everyone's assuming this was our target since that game. It's never easy to just switch it on for a game so I am quite worried.
Agreed, I’m not confident at all. The lack of momentum from us I think is the root cause of that, but Chelsea’s inconsistency doesn’t seem to register with me at all. I can only see the negatives happening: Hazard deciding to turn-up and thus being the best player on the pitch by a mile, Kante getting away with foul after foul whilst Oliver books Herrera the second he looks in Hazard’s direction, Giroud scoring as he always fecking does, maybe even Morata proving he’s not a complete waste of space, etc.

It’s starting to feel like a cup final all right

Very flat for a final in here, many red's feel the same I know. The FA cup has lost its prestige but I still love the trophy. Some of my early memories as a kid and United are from it. Remember watching us beating Chelsea 4.0 with my brother at his friend. The build up was for hours years ago and it was a big deal, it doesn't seem like it now but it was a big deal in the 90's. I really want to win it. I'm glad we have Champion's league next year but it's always more memorable winning trophies. In ten or twenty years time, we want be chatting about getting top 4. You always remember trophies, let's hope United are up for it tomorrow and beat these rent boys.

Oliver is another concern. You just know he'll find someway to be the centre of attention. Herrera if he plays will have to be on his best behaviour. We know Hazard likes the grass and Chelsea will look to take advantage of this. I think we will be in trouble if Chelsea decide to sit back and defend. We simply have no clue when facing teams who defend and almost all our goals this season against big teams came from either defensive errors or players being caught upfield and us taking advantage of the spaces. How Chelsea approach this game will decide the game imo. If they play an open game like City did in 2nd half at Etihad, like Spurs did, like Liverpool we will have too much for them. If they sit back and defend I think they will have a big chance of winning.

We are favourites going into this game, yeah,we"ve been ponderous and uninspiring over the last few weeks, but Chelsea have been worse...There's a reason why we finished 11 points(plus a vastly superior GD) over them....I think we will win 2-0...

Anyone else struggling to get up for this one?
It's got the feels of Wednesday's Europa cup final. I'll be more excited by tomorrow (hoping Utd lose obviously), but with Jose's ridiculous record in finals I don't see anything other than a 1-0 dour encounter. Some Chelsea fight to claw their way back, probably hitting the post five times.

Chelsea are the sort who can be abysmal one week and turn it on the next. They have a tendency to choose when to play well or not.

It will be a tough game despite Chelsea's poor form.

Jose will set up not to lose (shock) defend like we are Stoke playing Barcelona (shock) and the game will be a complete dud with two poor teams out of form cancelling each other out with no attacking threat whatsoever (unless Hazard decides to have a good game)

With Chelsea low on confidence - we should start with a high tempo and attack and kill them off early. But with Jose in charge and based on how we've played under him since he took the managers job, I highly doubt we'll see anything like that
Nil nil after 120 mins. No shots on target from either team. United win 1-0 on pens.

Good to see Oliver being rewarded with this match.

Of course there's white text. He's a Cnut.

2-0 will do, Herrera finding his form from last season's win in the league

As long as we win. I don’t give a feck.

With how we’ve played in the final 3 games, I can’t see us ripping Chelsea apart. Likewise, I can’t see them doing that to us. I think it’ll be tight and boring. As I say, as long as we win, I’m happy.

My feeling for this game: United will create more and better chances. But Chelsea will be more lucky.

Chelsea will start strongly because they know we'll be cautious at first, but we'll grow into the game similar to the semi against spurs.
I think we have a little bit more than Chelsea for the big game, ans so predicting us to to win 1:0. But its a one off final at wembley and anything can happen. Hope the game isn't decided controversially, cause that will spoil it.

Ha I assure you I’m not. I’m from Manchester and live about 2 miles from the stadium.

I booked it about 2 months ago before we even knew we were anywhere near the final. I didn’t think to check what weekend it was on at the time.

Well, I just can't bear the thought of losing. That would be such a ruddy downer! And even those who say they can't 'get up' for this cup will feel shite afterwards that is for sure. I'm hoping that it will be an exciting final with United coming out on top and not a boring, dull, laborious game that ends 0 - 0 after extra time with United going out on penalties!

    Come on United......

Can't believe there's people saying they aren't bothered by the FA Cup :houllier:

Perhaps it doesn't seem as illustrious to our international fans?

    There's only one United!
The FA Cup was always held in high esteem in England, so YES it is important to try our best to win it.

    Lawrenson predicts Chelsea 1-0 win.
That miserable scouse git would say anything to rubbish MU.

It will be a tough game, could go anyway. Olivier giroud and Pedro are just as dangerous as
Hazard on their day. We will need Pogba and the rest to perform at their best. We have a better back line than theirs so hope we prevail.
