Pretty annoyed to be honest seemed like he would have assisted us in two positions.

How much are Liverpool paying for him? Including VAT, agent fees, wages over 3 years, add on fees, etc..

I'm okay with this. Tbh, genuinely don't know much about him but fills a hole at DM with Can going (not that I was ever convinced by him) and provides support for RB with Alexander-Arnold still young and not knowing the state of Clyne.

With Keita coming in, fun times ahead!

Bloody Liverpool fans on RAWK calling him 'Stan'. At least there was some semblance of logic when they kept calling Firmino 'Bobby'. 'Stan' isn't in any part of Fabinho's name!
What are you doing on RAWK, do you need some sort of help?

Okay, now piss is boiled.

How quickly has this happened? If this were us we’d still be in the “trying to reach an agreement” stage.

Class signing for the bastards, if they can sort out their goalkeeper and get another defender they’d be the ones to watch (as well as City of course) next season.

He said he prefers right back and that's where he sees himself playing long term, but unlikely to happen at Liverpool. I'd say he's a direct replacement for Can.

We could've used him at right back. IMO, our number one priority is replacing Valencia at right back.

Thought Klopp didn't like to spend money like other clubs (i.e., United and City). He implied that he would like to do it another way.

Oh well

Feck sake. I'm not annoyed of them signing him, I'm annoyed of how quickly they finished the deal while we're still waiting for days to finish the signing of someone like Fred. We're the slowest club when it comes to transfers that's for sure.

I like it. Should make the league even more competitive next season. We say that every season though.

They were probably working on this for a while and were waiting for the CL to be over. The problem with United is we get a bunch of transfers news too quickly.

Fred is with his national team though whereas Fabinho wasn't called up.

It's true, it was the same thing last summer as well and we only signed 3 players!

We could have finished the deal with Fred earlier before he goes to his national team. It's not really a complicated deal to take time like this.

Anyway I'm not expecting any signings before WC anymore.

We could’ve hit 2 birds with 1 stone if we got him.

He’s a DM turned RB and has been playing RB as his primary position. Could’ve been our new starting RB and take over for DM when Matic isn’t up for it. Mourinho is the one who brought him up to the 1st team at Madrid too in 2012 and definitely rates him.

...oh well. We take this L and move on. Liverpool in all honesty seem to making all the right moves to bring balance to their squad.
We have dropped the ball yet again while Woodward is somewhere fantasising about a galactico player. Liverpool now have arguably the best midfield in the PL - Keita and Fabinho will destroy teams next season.

What are we doing for goodness sake. You can always trust Man Utd not to address the gaping problems in the squad. The management is currently Bale-drunk when we should be beefing up the midfield and the full back areas.

This is a big L to United.

Match of the Day Facebook account caption their Fabinho story with 'Man Utd will miss out'... I think if we were going to sign him it would've been last summer not this.

That’s a good midfield, has a lot more talent on the ball than

Henderson
Ox-Milner

Which is also not a bad set of back ups

That’s pretty strong set of midfielders to be fair

However what I think will hurt them is if they play that initial 3 will they get as much press and work from them. I am not so sure and that is critical to Klopp tactics.

The main problem is that people need to keep in mind that agents and clubs contact each others all the time to get the pulse of the market, it's not often as serious as some stories sound. A club like United will be used for negotiations when they show even a remote interest which mean that we, fans, will here about all sorts of stories that shouldn't be put on the same level of seriousness.

I wonder if Klopp is going to try something different next season because whenever I've seen Fabinho he's never once looked like the type of midfielder that Klopp has liked at Liverpool (the all action/energy sorts)

Building a decent squad. If they sort out the goalkeeper situation then they can mount a challenge next season.

And how the feck would you know how complicated the deal is?

People literally have no clue what they're talking about half the time on this place

Seems like they mean business this summer, a couple of very good signings on their way already.

Anyone but Rashford
Annoyed. He’s fecking brilliant.

Can play anywhere across midfiled, can play at RB, all at an extremely high level. Perfect for the PL. Really struggled to see why we didn’t get him last season even with Matic.

Ah well. Hope he flops spectacularly.

Brilliant. Liverpool signs a player and we're back to criticising Ed Woodward.

Why don't these tossers get banned?

Not really an upgrade for them as he's replacing Can who's just as good....

As for us, not the kind of midfielder we need. Too defensive to play him with Matic, would rather get someone a bit more attack minded.
