Perhaps the ability to merge the journey with a multi season regular career mode would be nice.

Also hoping for some real advancements in sfx like rain creating puddles on the pitch etc. Maybe random events in the stands like banners being unrolled, streakers running onto the pitch etc.

Person 1: Same game with updated squads and new kits.

Person 2: Why do people always moan about it being the same game? Don't buy it then.

Etc...

There we go, now that convo is done in case anyone wanted to have it.

I know it won't but I'd love there to be a Rest Of The World type category for classic teams. Like the 97/98 Arsenal side, 99 United, 2005 Chelsea, 2008 United, 2010 Barcelona, etc...

fifa 19 will be a stop gap to 2020 and the biggest advertising campaign in EA's history.

Fifa 18 was rock bottom. Worst game of the franchise, and they haven't been good for a few years now but still had some value to play with your mates. Nobody wants to play this shit now.

As long as AI assisted defending is a thing I won't be buying another FIFA, completely killed the game.

FIFA 18 is a jar of piss. EA are a jar of piss. They’re too far gone down the rabbit hole to suddenly change and release something close to football, or not roll out the same offline modes with different skins and the same awful algorithms. Awful company altogether.

As someone who plays mainly career and player career mode, I will wait to see what new features, if any they are adding before buying. I play the occasional online seasons game now and then but I refuse to touch FUT, don’t agree with play to win game modes especially when the game itself costs £50 alone!

Why would they change it up though. In 2010, before UT took off you could buy stock in EA sports at $15 a share. Now 1 share will set you back $135. P2P has made the bosses rich and until there’s a huge decline in stock value/clampdown on p2p, nothing changes.

They're so fecking filthy rich that it's the best opportunity for them to truly develop a quality game.

They'll see a sharp drop in next years sales I can guarantee it, they've been fully sussed out this year. That combined with the lack of interest coming from the e sports world and more on games like fortnite, their audience is progressively shrinking.

It’s too random to be a esports game.

I’m hoping for coop UT. They need to start improving pro clubs. That’s a mode that is made for esports but has been neglected for UT because they can’t make money out of it.

I'm with with you on that one mate, been saying it to my mates for years. Shame too cause pro clubs could be a unique game mode which would bring back groups of players but they just don't wanna do anything with it. The biggest change they've made to it is making you're own kit, something that should have been their at the beginning!

Some of the random stuff you see on pro clubs as it's so broken is hilariously bad.

I mentioned it in a previous fifa thread but they should allow you to choose what type of player the other CPU generated players are and choose the skill sets/stats of those players. I know everyone would still make every player a pace merchant but they need to make it more tactical in some way and diversify it, so you can create your own ethos with how your team plays. As it is, the CPU generated players, you can swap your GK with your ST and there's no difference in the way they play, as they're the exact same player.

Really needs a big change soon. It seems like it’s been the same for 3 years or so.

I've completely lost interest in FIFA in the last 3-4 years. I used to get all of them day one and count down the days before the launch, these days it's all meh. I'll buy it anyway, play it for 2-3 weeks and then only have a game or two when I'm with mates.

I have a friend who says he’s spent £500+ on FIFA 18 since it came out. His friends apparently have spent similar.

As long as there are people (and there are lots of them) out there who are willing to pump this much into a game they’ll play for one year, FIFA isn’t changing.

It’s sad, as an offline player I don’t feel like EA give a single feck about my enjoyment of the game.

online, the game is even worse. It is packing good players and good cards that counts nowadays and people get a kick from. People spend far too much money on fifa points

Fix the goalkeeper bugs in Be A Pro Career, and improve that mode altogether. So sick of the same problems every year since 2012(?) but the Ultimate Team getting all the attention.

One day we'll get a revamped pro clubs with more depth. When they can find a way to monetise it.

Excited the champions league is finally making its return to fifa but you know that they will absolutely give FUT the full works with this and paying very little attention to career mode for example which will just be the same as it is every year.

Not only have we had to put up with Alan Smith bore us to death for years, now we have Lee bloody Dixon... there are so many better commentators on sky sports alone that they could have gone with rather than those two.
Ray Hudson should have been added years ago

Haha

To name a few though, I’d rather have the likes of Ian Drake, Clive Tyldesley as the main guys alongside people like G Nev, Danny Higgingbotham.. pundits who actually make sense. I swear if Alan Smith says anything like “the players will be wet after 5 minutes” when playing in the rain again I’ll absolutely scream.

Do difficulty levels even matter or factor in when you're playing against others online? I didn't think they did but a guy on my FB who added me on PS4 was going on about playing in world class online.

They affect goalkeepers as far as I am aware.

It's annoying that they've taken away the main thing PES had going for it as a selling point, and will use it to improve Fifa in no way whatsoever.

The gameplay arguably just needs tweaking (from the point of view of someone who plays more offline). The problem is it's still the same tweaks it's needed for so many years. So instead of being a good game it just feels like a dated one.

The repetitive and extremely limited AI that results in every game panning out the same. The lack of any individuality at all given to any team or player. Basically if a player or team is better, it just means they run faster. The fact that skills and tricks are so rubbish looking, it looks like they belong to a game that came out 15 years ago.

Also the single player career is still full of such stupid features that are hard to comprehend in terms of how they got into the game at all. Like the cpu constantly rearranging your fixtures for no reason, then suddenly scheduling 4 games in 8 days. The need to sign and play fictional youth players to avoid getting sacked. The fact the game is insistent on YOU being manager of the club, rather than just pretending that you are the club. Etc.

Stopped playing last year's pretty quickly. Hardly played since about October, but I'll buy this straight away I think. Hopefully it's got much better.
