It was the Queens birthday honours list which will make him a Knight fairly soon.

Really well deserved and should have been knighted years ago!

Deserved for his efforts in Hillsborough but his actions after the Suarez incident were a disgrace.

Openly supported a racist and called Evra a liar.

If you raise 10 million for charity it's kinda ok if you wear a really dumb t shirt supporting a racist.
It was not really a dumb tshirt only. I read the report, Daglish's first reaction after hearing the Evra accusations was to say to the ref "hadn't he made up the accusations" before or something of that sort.

Someone he obviously trusted and told him he was innocent (but lied).

As United fans it would be hypocritical for us to say it's ok for Sir Alex to defend Schmeichel, but Dalglish can't defend Suarez before he was found guilty.
The t shirts were dumb, and damaged Liverpool's image when Suarez was found to be lying, but in principle it is the same thing.

Sir Kenny “Racism Supporter” Dalglish!!
Piss off, we have all made bad choices in life and that was comical I agree but in no way is he a racist and what he did for Liverpool as a player and manager (especially the disaster deserves to be recognised) I cannot stand Liverpool as much as anybody but somethings are bigger than football. Thoroughly deserved and much better than seeing the likes of David Cameron’s wife’s hairdresser being recognised.

Believed his player over another player? His player was found to be a racist so (I know you have not said this) but this doesn’t make him a racist. It makes him a poor judge of character at worst. We have all backed a liar at one time. Ps the tshirt that followed was comical and showed how much a liar Suarez was and made Liverpool look idiotic and kenny mostly but a racist bloody hell we cannot go that far.

I am not calling him a racist, more like a poor judgement of character. Anyways I've already said that he deserves it for his efforts after Hillsborough alone.

He was such a technically gifted player, and formed a lethal partnership with rush in the early 80s. Deserves his knighthood.
Always wondered why he left Liverpool in 1990.

Catalyst behind the creation of a new generation of racist Liverpool supporters. Well done to him.

They should name a Tavern in the centre of Liverpool after him...

It’s deserved but it’s funny how RAWK have automatically changed their tone from ‘knighthoods are for the corrupt and King Kenny would never accept one’. It’s almost as if they were having a meltdown over Sir Matt, Sir Bobby and Sir Alex all this time...

I hope he has the sense to beef up security at his house on the day he heads to the palace!

Reminder that Evra originally came off the pitch and said that he had been called "ni***r" "ten times"

He later changed what he had been called, so Kenny and anyone else at LFC was right to believe Suarez when he said he didn't call him n****r

The Spanish word "Negro" translates as "black" not the n word and not the same meaning as negro in English

Why should I piss off? That may be your opinion that what he did was a mistake. I think it was a calculated move that tarnished his legacy with non Liverpool fans.

Also it wasn’t a one off. He consistently supported Suarez, printed t-shirts in his support, rallied the fans to create a siege mentality during games and said that anyone accusing him of anything is “bang out of order”. So yes, I will keep my opinion. He may not be racist himself but he sure as hell did support one and then helped the perpetrator bully the victim in public for weeks.

Not this shit again.

Very well deserved. The idea that we've got two knights of the realm and they have none is ridiculous given how much both clubs have contributed.

Also, without wishing to dig up old ground, Suárez said that Evra started it by calling him 'South American'. There is a Spanish word for South American, sudaka, which is considered extremely offensive as I'm sure the native speakers on this site can confirm.

Two wrongs don't make a right but the truth could be a lot murkier than we've heard. Still love Evra though.

Oh I forgot how Liverpool fans turned into cultural experts when this case started.

That word wasn't even mentioned in the report. It makes me sick that people like you start up rumors without even educating yourself.

The levels they took it to, wearing shirts, blindly defending a player they were dependent on, was probably done out of pragmatism - but you'd have to be a fool to not know that the way they defended him could end up looking like backing a racist. It wasn't like 'lets see this one out' but they went all in with the defence of Suarez. Probably a matter of honour and stupidity, but a noble man would take a step back and see that in reality he was really just defending racism.

Not underserved but I can totally see RAWK using this as ammunition to get Slippy, Carra, Fowler et al. knighted in a couple of years. Petitions are probably being prepared as we speak.

Agree, that was completely ridiculous. The biggest negative in Dalglish's career without a doubt.
