Actual gameplay is at 50:00 and 01:02:00
Tempo of the game looks absolutely perfect, for me. Lighting has improved drastically.

PES

Jokes aside though, if everything was rebranded with Fifa 19 theme with all it's features and - i would buy it.

If you buy a game for the brand, the  is on you.

If FIFA is a better game, I'd buy it. Right now it isn't. It is just better branded.

I might get neither this year though. Less time to play.

imagine laughing at the best football game franchise ever
Don't think you got my tongue in cheek comments. PES is the better game when you consider the gameplay and aesthetics in game but Fifa's features beat PES by about 99.9%.

Never understood why people argue over which game they personally enjoy playing more.

Gameplay there looks fantastic. Haven't played PES in about 14 years. When I was a kid I loved the authenticity of the FIFA brand, though from 2002-2004 ish I preferred PES on PS2. Haven't bought either since 2009 to be honest

That is like saying you go to a restaurant and get awful service, shit food presentation, poor hygiene but as long as the food was tasty - you discredit the rest?

I did admit PES is the better 'football game' but in the current world of digital gaming - it lags way behind in game modes, features and the overall appeal.

Is it just me who found it funny that they felt a need to introduce ‘’snow’’ as a new feature in that video? That’s hilariously desperate. What is this, 2002?

I think I'm the only person who I know personally who hasn't jumped ship to fifa

Will pick this up as usual when it goes on sale and play master league for months

It's a shit analogy but if we go it, yes I often go to places with great food but poor presentation and ambience. Hygeine was another shit analogy since it isn't relevant but oh well.

I play football for the football game. It takes 10 minutes to get the licenses etc. done via an upload too, but laziness typically prevails.

The drawback for me has always been the licensing, and I have only played PES religiously since I started to play football game. Sure you can have a patch on it on the PS4 but Sony has made it a pain in the ass in term of updates as sometimes you have to re-patch it, the parental control doesn't let you play against other people on it because of all the imported images, etc. I don't know how losing CL license is going to impact them and fans like myself, but I know it's not looking good.

I just don't think you get where i am coming from. Hygiene was relevant to the example i was giving as it is an important aspect of measuring food standards.

The same reason i was measuring PES for it's lack of immersive game modes that revolve around online gaming (which is a prominent part of the current generation). Fifa has taken it to another level after they released the Clubs mode and Ultimate team where everyone around the world can get involved into a aspect of digital market with trading, management and team play.

I would love for PES' gameplay to be incorporated into Fifa's game and it's not as if Fifa's mechanics engine is poor (probably a 8/10 gameplay wise) - although PES is a 9/10.

PES is a good game to play if you have your friends around for a couple of games or if you are a serious offline gamer but the package offered by Fifa is simply better due to the few of the things i mentioned above.

To be fair he has a point.

Can you do pro clubs in PES? Nope. The online has worse lag than FIFA.

It’s best played against a mate offline.

Been saying this for years. The perfect game is PES gameplay + FIFA's presentation.

The only thing I don't like about FIFAs presentation is that it's almost too slick - in particular the player models still look weird. PES isn't great in that category either obviously but something about their graphics does make it look a bit more realistic..i know footie players are all about looking good these days but I don't like playing with wax coated ken dolls.

Looks quite similar to FIFA in that video.

I like some of the body positions that the players take up when playing passes and crosses though. It has the same clumsy moments that FIFA has though which prove infuriating when you constantly play it.

I think PES has great graphics. (Their lighting at night matches is worse than FIFA though)

I meant more in terms of the licenses, the commentary, and other things like that. Their menu is terrible, and has been for years.

I've always said this but not sure I really agree with it fully. The kits, stadiums, competition licences, sure, but outside of that FIFA has it's own issues with broken game modes and some things just looking plain naff.

Couldn't give a flying feck about licences, PES2018 was so good I didn't even get round to downloading the kits and just played MyClub and 3vs 3 online all the time, which they nailed in terms of steady lag free connections (for me anyway). Usually I play a few games of the online and decide its not worth the hassle & wait for the kit downloads to play master league and Become a Legend but this year I haven't even touched them.

They look like the Alien copy versions of the real life players there's just something unsettling about the faces.

Yes I'd rather go to a restaurant with brilliant food and average ambience than a restaurant with average food and brilliant ambience.

PES' issues never really bother me 'shit service' and ''pooe hygene' would. It's a football game, the football is 90% of the package

I think both games have bad gameplay, PES slightly less bad but the lack of licenses, poor game modes and online issues also make it unplayable. It’s basically a hipster football game nowadays.

If it were about presentation some here would've hated Sensi Soccer. Luckily enough the gameplay was awesome and everything else just a bonus.

I'll be switching back to PES this year. Didn't buy FIFA 18 and played it for the first time at my mates the other day - utter wank. The game is literally just based on pace. Load of bollocks.

It may just be that I grew tired of it but I’m convinced that FIFA 18 got worse the more updates it received.

I seem to remember really enjoying it when it was first released, but now it just feels terrible.

No, that's PES 2004 or whatever version they are playing.

The gameplay on PES is wonderful. It can be frustrating but it runs a real good football game.

Gutted they are losing the champions league rights. Made master league so much more fun.

Hipsters have good choice in that case.

There's no chance PES 2018 had bad gameplay. There hasn't been a football game made that plays better. They turned a corner with 2015, improved it in 2016 and 2017 & 2018 were genuinely excellent.

I've got Fifa 18, I've played it for about 10 minutes, I just don't really ever feel motivated to play it these days. It just feels awfully repetitive, quite laboring to play.

Through balls/sprint/shoot/repeat. Game after game.

I might well take a punt on PES. The gameplay looks a bit more, real. I last played it when it first came out about 15 years ago.

I had the same feeling with FIFA. Played it for a couple of years because PES had lost their way somewhat during the PS3 era. PES turned it around sometime in 2016. Not perfect, but it got me playing again.

It's a real shame they're losing the UEFA license. FIFA's fuelled by UT and licenses and will eventually drive PES out, I feel. EA's just got too much resources. It kind of sucks.

I played FIFA18 last week and a couple of days later found PES13 on my old laptop. Would still prefer the latter in terms of game play.

Will be getting this one, patching it up and playing Master League for hours.

Do you actually allow people to have their own opinion when it comes to PES or does everyone have to like it?

It's fairly well established in elitist PES community circles that 2013 was the last great PES game. It looked and played a bit dodgy but it was a really tight game overall; the most similar experience to the old classic'easy to pick up, hard to master' arcade style experience.
