The 2 main contenders for the tournament are finally starting tomorrow. Let's see.

Costa Rica - Serbia has the makings of a good game.

Costa Rica 2-2 Serbia
Germany 2-1 Mexico
Brazil 3-0 Switzerland

Because I've said these, I'll have to plop a £1 on those scores just in case.

Too many times on this forum I've made predictions of two/three games, and then all coming true without laying something on it.

Praying that Brazil score early against the Swiss otherwise it could be a shit game because of how horrible the Swiss are.

Germany v Mexico could be a very good game. I expect Brazil to beat Switzerland easily.

I think we struggle to beat the Swiss. I can’t remember the last time Brazil started a tournament with an easy win. We are slow starters even the past teams.

I’m looking forward to seeing SMS for Serbia as I’ve never seen him play before and see if he really is worth £100M that Lazio value him at.

The Germany and Brazil games will be good. I’m particularly looking forward to the Germany game as going to watch it on Playstation VR via the BBC Sport VR app on the PS4.

My predictions for the 3 games are:

Costa Rica 1-2 Serbia
Germany 3-1 Mexico
Brazil 4-1 Switzerland

Don’t think there’s been a standout “holy feck, they are going to be hard to stop” performance yet, think we’ll get it tomorrow.

Costa Rica 1-0 Serbia
Germany 2 - 2 Mexico
Brazil 1 - 0 Switzerland

Now, that would shake things up.

Think Germany and Brazil will be comfortable wins so both teams setting down a maker especially as the other favourites haven't looked great.

Serbia-Costa could be interesting but Costa Rica were really poor v England and will put men behind the ball so not hugely hopeful on that one.

I think there might be a shocker in the Germany-Mexico match.

Haha. Yeah, can't forget about tournament specialists England. :D
I honestly believe that England will go above and beyond this time and progress from their group. Hell, I'll even stick my neck out here and predict that they will not lose on penalties in the first round of the knockout stage.

As a Mexico fan, i’m really nervous for this match. Our manager is insane (the Bielsa type of insane) who’s typically been high-risk/high-reward and risks/experiments A LOT. Either expecting a sort of upset against the Germans or complete annihilation of the Mexico squad. There won’t be an in-between IMO (this is how it’s typically gone under this manager). Lets see what happens..

I'm really nervous for Germany today, because of their poor form in the friendlies, the ongoing distraction and the curse of the defending champion. I'm still cautiously optimistic that the lads would win it because its...Germany, they always turn up in major tournaments and find a way to go far. Really hope Germany can win this to calm my nerves, as I have bought tickets for their potential knock-out rounds up till the semi-final so if they don't finish first in the group, this would screw up all my tickets and travelling plan in Russia when I already have my hotels and trains/flights booked to the cities of the last 16 to semi-final. Please Deutschland just win this, don't care any result just a win. :(

This sounds good for my bet that I laid earlier.

Serbia to win to nil
Germany and over 2.5 goals
Brazil to win to nil

12 quid wins 145

Don't forget Löw probably benching Reus

Still it's only group stages and 'only' Mexico. So I still expect DIE MANNSCHAFT to win.

As a Serbia fan, I'm optimistic about today's game and will certainly be disappointed if we don't win today.
The weakest part of our team is disjointed defence, and the coach to whom this will be the first ever competitive game in a career.

Mexico vs Germany will be a good game, both good teams. Germany should easily take care of them though.

Wish we got South Korea in the opening match instead. Mexico is arguably the toughest opponent in the group and they always perform well in the World Cup, only missing out on goal difference to Brazil for the top spot in 2014. Not sure why Löw is not starting Reus, Germany badly need speed and there seems to be no speed in this team. Apparantely Ozil won't be starting as well. Hope it has nothing to do with the Erdogan scandal and I just hope this whole shitstorm would not ruin the atmosphere in the team. Here's hoping Ozil or Gundogan score a match winning goal to get back into the fans' good book. Come on Deutschland.
