Boring isn't it?

I know the World Cup's on but hardly any transfer activity is, apparently, going on.

I guess the bullshitters in the press can get their clicks from actual stories about football for a change, instead of having to make stuff up all the time.

This is going to be a frantic transfer window between 16 July and 9 August, I can't wait :boring:

Actual transfers aren't particularly interesting. The speculation of who we might buy however.....

Transfer season is the meat of football. It’s putting up with the actual football that's the problem

The biggest clubs like Barca, Real, Manchester, Chelsea etc are quiet, some other have been very active. Arsenal is trying to catch up, Atletico got Lemar last week, Bundesliga has some activity besides Bayern (don't want to buy without selling because the squad is too big) and Italy is active as always. Inter, Napoli, Roma, Juventus all very busy

PSG is usually a big player who kick start the market with huge money, leading to a chain reaction at other clubs. They have to oblige to FFP first, but will be active after the WC I suppose. Similar to the other big clubs I mentioned above one with Bale, Lukaku, Pogba etc leading to much more transfers

Also no hipster talent team to be raided this year (Monaco last year, Dortmund every year etc).

Anyone else think we might be waiting to announce Fred deal before we start getting couple more in? Mourinho busy doing punditry in Russia. Means Ed is working on the targets so maybe hold up is getting Fred deal 100% done before start seeing more movement.

No it's called multitasking

Only possible reason is whoever we're targeting is currently at the WC

It’s an indication that our remaining targets are at the World Cup.

Or... it’s an indication that the transfer merry-go-round won’t get started until the group stages are over and players start moving. Teams don’t sell without having replacements lined up.

Absolutely stupid year to bring in the new window.

Emmm.. we have already signed 2 players and there is almost 4 weeks left. Our remaining targets are probably focused on their World Cup games.

People love to complain about everything.

I think everyone is waiting for the first domino to fall which will kick off the chain (ala a Bale etc). This won't happen until after the WC I don't think.

We all know transfers market will be mostly dead during World Cup. Good thing we finished Dalot and Fred before it.

There's only about 3 weeks between the end of the World Cup and the transfer window slamming shut.

Not many, is it?
I don't think the number is right? Transfer window shuts on the 9th August no? That's 50 days time.

Group Stages of the World Cup ends on the 28th June
Round 16 ends on the 3rd July
Quarters ends on the 7th July
Semis ends on the 11th July
Final on the 15th July

I think we’re waiting on players that play for Brazil, Serbia and possibly someone in the Germany squad. Hopefully it’s Willian, SMS and Boateng

We need to sell a few to get the squad size and associated wages down first perhaps. Blind, darmian, rojo and fellaini (free) wont get enough minutes next season to justify their presence.
