Well, the last thread started with the draft so I guess this season's should as well.

Looks like Doncic is gonna fall, not sure how far though. Where will Kawhi end up? More importantly, where will Lebron be? Lakers looking likely...

I've heard the Mavs covet Doncic and may try to move up as high as 2 to get him. If he falls past 2 they'll do whatever it takes apparently, and they'd likely take on a shit bloated contract to do such. Best scenario is he drops to 5 and they get him without moving assets/picks.

Tryggvi Hlinason could be only the 2nd Icelandic player ever to be drafted in the NBA since Pétur Guðmundsson was drafted by Portland in the early 80's.

Tryggvi plays for Valencia, is 20 years old, 2,16m and has only practiced basketball for 4 years. He's a phenomenom. Read his wiki.

His coach said he wouldn't quite be ready for the NBA this year but still expects that he's very likely to be drafted.

If the Grizzlies get Doncic they might make the playoffs next season. It is baffling that Doncic might fall in this draft but, I did not want to see him on the Kings.

Still think the Kings will take Doncic. If they don't they are mad and don't deserve any success.

This is the first year in the draft where we as Knicks fans don't know for sure who we are going to select. Got a horrible feeling we will end up with Trae Young.

He won't last until no.9. I think you're going to end up with Wendell Carter (which would be great for you) or Collin Sexton (which wouldn't). Maybe Mikal Bridges or Miles Bridges.

I think for top 20:

1. Phoenix - Ayton
2. Sacramento - Doncic
3. Atlanta - Jackson Jr
4. Memphis - Bagley
5. Dallas - Bamba
6. Orlando - Trae Young
7. Chicago - Porter Jr
8. Cavs - Sexton
9. Knicks - Carter
10. Phila - Mikal Bridges
11. Charlotte - SGA
12. Clippers - Bridges
13. Clippers - Lonnie Walker
14. Denver - Knox
15. Washington - Williams
16. Phoenix - Troy Brown
17. Milwaukee - Huerter
18. San Antonio - Zhaire Smith
19. Atlanta - Donte DiVincenzo
20. Minnesota - Spellman

I think he's projected outside of the second round but might get invites to camps to earn a short-term deal like VanVleet two years ago.

I think we can’t really go wrong with Ayton / Doncic with the first pick.

Squad is terrible and both players would help us immediately.

I'd be happy with Carter. The prospect of him and KP (once he returns) is one that is very exciting.

I think he should be available until no. 8 at least and then it depends on what Cavs do. Carter is probably ready to contribute already and would improve their defence but Sexton is more exciting prospect and possible cornerstone if LeBron leaves (although he'd really need to improve many areas of his game dramatically to become first option on a winning team).

Ayton to Suns is basically a certainty.

I'd have liked the Bulls to move up, as I have definite reservations about Porter's back.

Kings are apparently big on Bagley. Didn't follow NCAA this season but everything i've read and heard from people who did points to him being a sure thing. We'll see

Doncic will be great so long he ends up in the right environment where he doesn't feel alienated and unhappy and wishing he'd be back in Europe. Heard the Hawks are going to pick him at #3. The world needs to find some way to land him with Pop or the Heat. I almost wish the Kings will trade away the #2 for 1 year of Kawhi

Did you expect to draft Porzingis?

Yeah, Phil had met him a few times before the draft and he worked out for us in private. The only way we weren't taking KP was if Towns somehow fell, but that was never going to happen.

Why was he booed so roundly?

They probably thought he would be the second coming of Darko rather than Dirk. Foreign players, especially those from Europe, have a reputation/stereotype of being “soft” and fans in the US generally have a lack of familiarity with foreign leagues so I suppose you can call it ignorance.

Oh right. At the time I thought it was because it came as a shock.

Basically because we were burned the last time we drafted a Euro before KP (Weis). That and the fact KP was still a bit of a gamble at that time. It was more of a banter thing that anything, although the press would have you believe otherwise.

I watched it live and some fans looked real angry. But it's all worked out in the end.

Some (like the kid who kinda got famous from it) were acting up purely for publicity. Most Knicks fans knew before the draft that they were going to boo.

The Kings will draft Bagley. Atlanta with the big decision, I think.

It would obviously depend on the health of Gasol and Conley I think. While I think Donic is good, he won't be carrying Memphis to the playoffs if one of those two goes down. He is ready to make an immediate impact next season as a starter IMO though.

Yeah I forgot to add the caveat if Conley and Gasol stay healthy.

And Dwight Howard is going to go down as the least liked great player ever. Even Rick Barry probably was not as hated by fellow players.

He's going to be one of the league's very best passers and playmakers, and a plus defender at multiple positions right away. He's basically a better version of Lonzo right now, and if he can shot and finish at the rim consistently he'll become a top 15 player in the league in the worst case scenario.
