Does anyone here knows if he is fully recovered and able to start the pre season at 100% ?
From what I've read he's starting to train today which is two days after everyone else started (not in the WC of course) but will be ready for pre-season.

Why would he? He's a full back
Played a lot of games as a right winger, actually he’s almost played as many games as a winger as he has as a fullback.
@luke511 hes looked decent there, has a decent cross so wouldn’t surprise me to see him get a few runs out there.

Not too worried at this point, WC summers are always slow on transfers. Most top teams haven’t been too active in the transfer market yet.
I was referring to seeing it written as Stoke's 3rd choice keeper ;)

But yes, it's always a slow one when there's a Summer tournament. There's about a month to go before the transfer window closes I think? Aug 9th?

Are you purely just looking at his senior appearances for Porto or his career. Because he has.
Yes, I'm looking at his senior appearances.

Did you think McTomminay might play as a striker for us also?

Edit: in case I'm being a little bit flippant here, read Jose's comments and decide if you think he'll be a winger for us

“Diogo is an extremely talented young defender with all the qualities to quickly become a great player for this club," he said.

"He has all the attributes that a full-back needs: physicality, tactical intelligence and technical quality, combined with a Porto Academy mentality which prepares players for the maturity they need at the professional level.

“In his age group, he is the best full-back in Europe and we all believe he has a bright future ahead of him at Manchester United.”

The first post I wrote I was just meaning “mostly” as in the sense of pre season if and when he plays. Can see why someone could take that as me meaning permanently.

I do think he will become eventually probably our long term RB, but for pre season I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets a few outings as a winger since it’s a position he has played many a time. Even beyond that I wouldn’t be surprised to see him played in the league there for certain games.

I wasn’t meaning that will be his position permanently for this team.

Ok thanks, one of the youngest portuguese players I have higher hopes for the future, fair to say 5 years ago I thought Mangala would be a top class CB, I was completely wrong.

Looks like he loves a step over. Looking forward to seeing this guy next season think he could be first choice right back for us by Christmas time.

He just posted on his Instagram a picture of himself celebrating in a United shirt with the caption, that feeling when you are ready to help your team mates again. Looks likes he is back. I think Young has been solid but I am totally for Dalot starting!

Still don't know if he's injured or not...
I hope he gets fit. This is a player who we can have high hopes for.

It's a shame we crashed out of the League Cup. If he's looking good in training I'd be all for giving him a go in PL matches but he could have used those cup games.

I know I'm the new guy here but if Dalot is ready he should play. Young has been decent but Dalot is the future.

I think most people agree. The best way for young players to develop is to get games at the highest level.

He needs match time but not sure if he's going to start as ever since Young has been de facto captain, I believe he's started the majority of matches.

I can see Luke Shaw getting a rest, Young starting at left back and Dalot getting into the right.

If United can get qualify for the CL knockout rounds with a game to spare in the group stage, hopefully Dalot can start the final group stage match.
