“I can say that with us he is very positive, he wants us to fight for the titles, he wants us to perform to our best, he wants us to work as hard as possible.
Mourinho and positive in one sentence ? Sell him! :D

I would rather believe the journalists who have no idea about anything.

Why would they be so frustrated over pre-season? Yes half of our best players are missing but just see it as essential game time. Can just see us going into the season carrying a negative mentality already, and starting off shite. Pathetic attitude from Mourinho and the players.

Reading all the doom and gloom in here our supporters are way more negative than both our players and our manager.

Even more pathetic attitude from our supporters.

I’m commenting purely on what Mourinho and some of the players are coming out with. The season hasn’t even started and they’re making excuses. Pre-season is for players to get up to match fitness (amongst other shitty commercial reasons), what’s the point in complaining about it? That goes for the players, manager and the fans.

I’ll be honest, I’m usually quite a positive United fan but we’re in the exact same position as we were last season. We haven’t bought well enough. We’re one floppy Fred away from having pretty much the same team.

Its impossible to work on anything meaningful and improve in anything tactically.
Its a handful of seniors playing reserve football for fitness. I completely understand his sentiments.

Hererra’s always been a real teacher’s pet, so no surprise he’s toeing the party line. I like that about him. 100% commited to the cause and unswerving loyalty to the gaffer. I just wish he would he would turn that commitment into better performances on the pitch. He’s been my most disappointing player in pre-season. Ideal opportunity to stake a claim and, so far, he’s fluffed his lines. Same thing happened when Pogba got injured. Very frustrating.

Other clubs seem to not have an issue with it. Liverpool and City seem to be more excited at getting a look at their youth players, not whinging about how we’re only playing our reserve side.

It’s pre-season. We’ve had incredible pre-seasons in the past and started the league terribly, and we’ve had shite pre-seasons in the past and started well. It’s really, mostly, for fitness.

Funny how preseason is only meaningless when it doesn't go as we had hoped.

I agree with this. But is this reason enough for the enormous negativity on these forums and in social media?

We have become a spoilt bunch. Crying over the smallest matters relating to our club. Romantics stuck in the past. We should appreciate the fact that we support Manchester United and not Portsmouth or Blackburn.

Every single negative news is overblow and hyped 100 times over. Negativity and more negativity.

But they don't seem to be under the immense pre season (feck sake) pressure we are under.
City are the reigning champs and Liverpool are the media darlings, it's Utd that seem to have a success or bust year coming up and we're not getting the real work in preparation for it.
Herrera is only saying they're frustrated, nothing more.

Not surprising is it? A man with a winning mentality thinking exactly the same as another man with a winning mentality.

Fake news! Can’t be true... I must say it’s a relief to hear this. I’m guilty of falling for all of the media BS, although it was mostly because of Jose’s comments. Hopefully he instills this us against the world mentality.

Frustration from the tour will all be forgotten when we piss our first 5 games of the league season. Think 2006 when there was a supposed Rooney-Ronaldo bust-up with Ronaldo wanting to go to Spain, we weren’t buying anybody while Chelsea were spunking money again, and we were losing 2–1 to Preston in a friendly - all before winning our first 4 games. This season will be mega, and we will all look back at this preseason as indicative of absolutely nothing.

I’ve said the exact same thing to my dad in the past! The past 5 years have been the biggest shock to a lot of United fans, especially ones born after say 1975 who only know success.

I honestly wouldn't even call these supporters spoilt, a lot of them are just thick and believe every little slice of bullshit a verified Twitter account or journalist feeds them. Every time a new narrative is put out there, these little shites lap it up and regurgitate it all over reddit, YouTube, Facebook and Twitter and in turn the same journos who started the narrative double down on it by pointing to "supporter unrest" as proof of what they originally said – it's like a human centipede of buffoonery and the new newbie system has pulled this forum into the middle of it. That's not to say Jose and other people at the club are without fault, it's just that nothing they've done this pre-season justifies the level vitriol they've been getting from these idiots.

Next time let’s forget these stupid trips to Asia and America in a World Cup or Euro year. It makes sense in a non tournament year.

Let’s do a tour in Scandinavia or something. We have a big following there and I believe we did a tour there the season we won the treble.

We better off staying in Europe.

I just think he isn't that good, his best work is all destructive now. When we first signed him he looked great, even Liverpool fans were worried and saying that he looked like the eventual successor to Xavi. How far he's fallen from that mantle.

Are we the only team with players away after the World Cup? You’d think so with all the moaning. Just get on with it ffs. Andre complaining that Pogba and Fellaini are on holiday when he should be greatful he actually has a chance to play and earn a place with them being away. Negative vibes coming out the camp.

Maybe part of the frustration is having to play teams like Real and Liverpool in fake games with half the team not there, just for a bit of extra cash and having to focus tactics and training that isn't relevant to the season ahead.

I can imagine they'd all rather be closer to home, playing hand picked friendlies, where the rest of the first teamers can join them as and when.

Didn't LVG complain about preseason too?

I think we had alot of players who made it right to the end of the tournament yes. More so than others.

Pogba, Lukaku, Fellaini, Lingard, Young, Rashford played the whole thing and all are pretty important players.

Agree. Those kinds of tours should be reserved for odd years. Stay close to home for the even years.

Only for some fans, i dont give two shits if we do well preseason, we've done fantastic some years and turned to shit as soon as real football starts, yes its great to win these games because everyone likes winning more than losing, but its generally for getting fit and ready for the start of the season.

Nothing new really. What would you expect him to say.
If he had said something negative about Jose this thread would’ve exploded. Says something positive and it’s met with your reaction. Figures.
