Who will we sign?

Perhaps we’re gunning for a Toby Maguire partnership at the back..

It’s looking like Leicester will pick up Calgar, he’s supposedly a slick ball-playing centre-half and a Turkish international to boot. Seems very highly rated. It’s possible that him, Jonny Evans and Wes Morgan could rotate, with their other new lad Benkovic to come in. They have Benaloune too.

They’ve already spent the Mahrez cash on the likes of Evans, Ghezzal, Pereira and Maddison and didn’t they also sign a keeper from Liverpool for a decent sum?

As far as Alderweireld goes, the bookies still have a move to United as Alderweireld’s shortest odds. You actually get a decent return betting on him to stay at Spurs (if that scenario eventuates.)

Perhaps Jose’s looking to play three at the back, and wants to sign two and then sell two (Rojo and Jones or Smalling.)

The Manager has said this entire time he wanted 2 players, I’d always taken it to mean
a centre-back and a right-winger, maybe this isn’t the case and he wants rid of two of our central defenders.

In the same way war strategies are always devised perfectly as to how the previous war should have been fought, the way CEOs are always hiring managers that are the complete antithesis of the previous, Woodward is clearly still scarred from previous instances of splashing out on Plan Bs that failed - Blind, Rojo, Schweinsteiger, Schneiderlein, Darmian etc - so has swung way too far towards either signing Plan As or absolutely no-one at all.

I like the sounds of buying Plan As or no1.

Lukaku
Martial Sanchez
Fred Matic Pogba
???? ???? Bailly Dalot
De Gea
Could argue we're only two first choice defenders away from a very strong starting 11. I'd love to see a CB and LB arrive on deadline day. Could see us winning the league with a starting 11 that included someone like Maguire/Alderweireld and Alex Sandro.

Jim White will have his work cut out for him on transfer day, trying to keep it interesting.

Well Plan Bs can be the difference makers; for example Shaqiri is looking like a steal for Liverpool at £12m, but he'd have been even more useful for us.

Besides Woodward isn't even doing Plan A very well anymore - that means paying well over the odds like Liverpool did this year and like Manchester City did last year... trying to play the Levy waiting game and backing yourself into a corner where you can't go close to asking price without losing face doesn't work with Plan As because the sellers know their calibre is so few and far between.

Mr. Nobody. I would mind Styles in our play though.

Nobody. There isn't enough time. The "no more signings" leaks will come tonight or tomorrow morning.

Crossing my testicles for Toby Aldercantspellit or Maguire though

Is there any relevance to TFM & Tuanzebe going out on loan yesterday?

I feel there is a chance that we might perhaps get Alderweireld, a game of last minute brinkmanship from Spurs attempting to squeeze every penny...possibly games from United too, being 'strongly linked' with Boateng & Mina.
Leicester already received a large sum for Mahrez, they really won't feel under any financial pressure to sell another big player for them.

But I'd also be happy to see the back of Rojo & Darmian.
Has TFM loan been confirmed?

With Liecester signing a CB, my money is on Maguire. I'd rather us go for Toby. What we needed to sign is a LB and a RW, the latter being higher priority. Did not expect us to sign a Fred type player since we're stacked in MF, unless we're selling Herrera.

At this point our only hope is Own Goal can be like a new signing for us - if he can be a 10+ goal scorer for us this season, then will be a very good piece of business.

Part of me thinks, lets just back Jose with his Perisic and Willian demand, give him 2 seasons and remove him when he fails. If we are gonna try, back him properly, not half heartedly. I get that they cost a lot and offer, little value in terms of resale, longevity etc, so maybe a young equivalent

Hope so but I'm not so confident. I think Darmian will leave IF anyone wants him later this month.

Less than 24 hours now. I think we'll end up signing only one player: Maguire for a grotesquely inflated fee. And we'll probably sell 2-3 players by the end of the month.

Whoever it is, if anybody, it’s going to involve Jim bellend White losing his shit. Hopefully somebody gets a big purple instrument in the ear to sweeten the deal.

Hopefully Jim White, and very forcefully.

I doubt we will sign anyone, the current owners are not too bothered about winning anything, as long as the cash keeps rolling in. Obviously they will want to keep qualifying for the Champions League. But beyond that any trophy wins would just be seen as a bonus. The club has become a cash cow, sad days indeed.

Can't believe Kante was Mourinho's first choice. In what world would Chelsea sell their best player to us?

I know it's cliche but Sanchez really is like a new signing. Fred will improve his play significantly, as Sanchez said.

Absolutely crazy that we've signed another sponsor while the transfer window is still open. Apparently the cooks at the player's canteen were also serving food this morning, afternoon and evening and the marketing team have been tweeting all day. There is less than a day left until the transfer window closes, it should really be all hands on deck right now.
The club is a laughing stock at the moment as regards transfers. The current owners are not after trophies, they are after more cash, the club has become their cash cow. Thanks to Ed Woodward who is the same Ed Woodward who worked for the Glazers during the takeover.

having the window close early has made the whole thing a rather dull affair so far. Cant see much improvement on it tomorrow tbf.

also a very stupid idea, but the majority of clubs voted for it. United voted against.
Nothing stupid about it. Tomorrow it ends and we turn our focus to football instead of bullshit twitter stories. It's great
