Hopefully he will get lot of games. Will be interesting to see whether he will play as RB or CB.

Do Fulham play a traditional 4 man backline or have they gone with 3 CBs as well?
I have no idea. Remember them playing with wingers, so assuming back 4.

I hope he gets minutes as both a CB and RB tbh. Obviously, if he makes 1 of the positions his own that would be ideal.
Maybe I'm only one who still believes he can be good defensive midfielder. Not even sure and don't have anything to back it up, just blind faith.

I'm quite surprised he went out on loan again. Thought he'd be kept this time around to act as back-up. I guess Mourinho has said he sees him as a rightback, and we've now signed Dalot so he may not feature in the plans.
Maybe it's the two year loan example set by Pereira?

Back 4 I'm pretty sure. Ryan Fredericks was their right back last season and he moved to West Ham this summer. It's a great opportunity for Fosu Mensah to get a good run in the side at right back.

Will try to watch Fulham quite a lot because of him. Hope he is a regular starter and does well for them.

Hope he gets a good run at RB. See if he's good enough for a spot at Manchester utd

From what I saw last season, they almost exclusively played a 4-5-1/4-3-3 Barca style, with one holding mid and two slightly in front.

Jokanovic did use a back three at times with Watford, so it's not completely out of the question.

Think back 4. Sure they did v Villa in playoff final?

That said, with FBs like Sessegnon, they could probably switch to a back 5 (if they have the CBs).
Think Sessengon was a winger last season so I don't know how likely a back 5 would be.

I think good loan for him, if he's not good enough for them to play 20-30 games despite being only a loanee for them then he's not good enough for us. the more experience and playing time is essential for TFm rather than sit on our bench. What is more worrying is that we still have Darmian as our backup no1 and no1 RB right now when Valencia is out

Agreed, TFM really needs to be playing weekly in order to further his game, I think his long term future lies at CB than RB/DM so hopefully he gets minutes there though I suspect he's been loaned with the intention of playing RB. Also I'd be very surprised if Darmian was still our first choice back up RB when Valencia and Dalot are both fit.

He'd be perfect as a LWB I think.
Yeah I think even timbo would play that role on the right, not being really anything special going forward but with his incredible stamina and agression he should be running up and down the pitch and being not 100% positionally sound wouldn't mind at that position. Still better outlet going forward than Darmian

Don't see him being a top CB for us in the future so i hope he plays as a DM or a RB (preferably a DM). He really needs a coach to clarify his best position, improve day by day and cement his place in the team. I hope Jokanovic will be a good coach for him.

He started off as a LB, played quite a few games there and when he started scoring, they pushed him forward to LW. I think he'd be incredible as a LWB or even as a RW cutting in onto his left foot. He'll be an interesting watch this season that's for sure.

Seems strange to complain about wanting another defender and then letting him and Tuanzebe go out on loan again.

Really happy they lost 2-0 at home when benching TFM. Hoping that the goals were conceded on the right side!
The first one came from Aanholt playing through Schlupp, on the left. The second came from a fast break on the right. Didn't watch the game but apparently they were a bit of a mess. Fulham should have had a penalty though, blatant.

He was pretty decent today. It's annoying the amount of ball-watching he does because his ability is not in question. Got lucky when he lost his man on a couple of occasions, but it was nice to see that even though he went off for treatment twice they wouldn't sub him. Hope to see him become a regular, chipping in with an assist in the coming two easier games for Fulham.

I think he has the technical ability to be a DM. He needs to read the game a lot better I feel. He is very very quick, tackles well and is very strong. HE needs to go to a team who will play him as a DM.

Agreed. I would imagine he would be more effective in the middle where he doesn't have to waste as much energy bombing up and down the pitch and also in a position where he's not the last line of defense.

It is a problem when have had for sometime now. We used to have quick defensive midfield players from the time of Robbo to Hargreaves and Ando. Then Fergie could not find anyone with pace to play in midfield and we seem to be struggling. Mensah is the ideal one if someone would give him a chance.

Should be given the same chances Butt and the Nevilles were, he's surely not less gifted or less ready than them, or less ready (though he is less gifted) than Scholes, a five foot six white man without pace.
