Wonder if he will be playing the deeper role with Fred and Pogba more box to box...

Either way, super excited to see what he can do, make the wait worthwhile! Fantastic to see him start, big show of faith.

Thought he was pretty good today.

So smooth on the ball but his defensive play was good too.

Great potential, especially once Fred settles a bit as a destroyer.

How good was our guy today? He honestly didn't put a foot wrong. Such a good performance, I'm really pleased for him ❤

Feels good to finally have a player that can wiggle out of tight spaces and pass a ball consistently.

Brilliant today, was a bit quieter late on I think but it was after he picked up a yellow and he was getting stuck in a lot before that so it's understandable. Matic will have a job displacing him if he keeps it up.

Thought he was excellent. Really calm and smooth on the ball. Great passing as well.

Definitely deserves to be a part of this team and not just making the numbers.

I pray that Jose doesn't just demote him to the bench not to be seen again when old man Matic is back, if given the chances he will make it.

Shame he's a bit underutilised and basically asked to keep it simple but as long he's getting the games and developing I am glad for him. was a decent performance considering our terrible display, good reading of the game and simple but quick passing, didn't make a mistake either so hopefully he build a trust in Jose to start there more often

Very composed and mature performance. Definitely something to build on, would like to see him given another chance against Brighton.

Thought he was very good. Still missed Matic but he'll be a crucial squad player this year.

I didn't think he a put a foot wrong. Immensely calm under pressure and distributed the ball very well. MOTM for me.

I like that he backs his own ability on the ball when being pressed and won't just pass the ball at the first opportunity. Very tidy performance and think he'll have a big part to play this season.

His passing is exceptional. Im not even talking about the long range ones. The short ones. Plays it in front of the player, its so important but understated. Sets rythm and speeds up play. Composed and great awareness. Faultless.

He played very well, always looking to switch the play or pass between the lines. Hope he keeps his place for a few weeks at least.

Very impressed with him. If we had better full backs we could play a diamond formation with our best 4 mids and Alexis/Lukaku upfront.

Excellent. May be our surprise player of the season and a midfield of him, Matic and Pogba should be our first choice atm.

Fabulous performance, so assured on the ball against a decent midfield. Loved that tackle for the booking when he clearly got the ball.

I’d prefer him a further 5 yards forward as he sat in between the 2 centre halves at times, and I think that would have helped push us forward a bit.

Be interesting to see what/how we play when Matic comes back in.

Thought he found the space to be available excellently, recycled possession well and did some decent defensive work.

Matic uses his physicality to take the ball in tight spaces but Andreas uses technique. Good to watch.

Promising performance, would be great if he grew into that role and eventually took over from Matic. He has Carrick to coach him so he's in good hands.

Great performance to build on, hopefully he gets his chance to do so this season and he doesn't end up on the fringes once Matic is back.

Didn’t put a foot wrong. Brave and tries things but has the awareness of when to play it safe. Loved seeing him on the ball for us.

Would really like to see Pereira-Matic-Pogba in midfield. Will give him more freedom to push forward and with his composure and passing ability it will help the team a lot.

I would love to see him dictating the tempo of the game for us - I think that will probably come with more experience.

He'll be on the bench, as soon as Matic is ready, no matter what kind of unwordly performance he puts in.
